Hi, which 10G SFP+ LR (single mode) modules are supported in Nutanix NX-8035-G5 and NX-6035C-G5 nodes with C-NIC-10G-2-SI 10G network interface cards? Do the SFP+ need special branding, as e.g. for use with Cisco switches? Thanks, Erik

Where do you put the ESXi ISO files so they show up in Foundation hypervisor list? Also, is this considered a bare metal install? Also, if using Foundation, where is a good guide for installing using ESXi as the Hypervisor (Field guide not much help). Thanks

Hello All, I am new to "Nutanix XCP, One basic question regarding the Raw device mapping in Esxi using the Nutanix infrastructure. Is RDM mapping supported in the Nutanix Appliance4.6 (Nos)? If yes, Can you please share the procedure to Create a RDM (Physical mode)?.. Thanks, Bhoopathy

Does AHV support VM affinity rules in 4.7.3?

Hi, I am new to Nutanix so would appreciate a bit of advice on importing a cluster into System Center Virtual Machine Manager. I have an existing Nutanix Hyper-V cluster which I want to manage via SCVMM. Has anyone got any advice in importing this into SCVMM and anything I should be aware of? Also, has anyone converted Standard switches to logical switches once the cluster has been imported or is that not a good idea? Thanks!

Dear Community, I have an issue. I'm installing a Windows 2008 standard (not R2 nor SP1) on a AHV cluster and then I need the virtIO drivers. It works fine for the iSCSI passthrough driver and the baloon. But the Networking adapter is failed. It says drivers are not signed and cannot be verified, I bypass the warning and then it says there is an error, driver corrupt blablabla. I have tried the latest Nutanix virtIO without any luck - whatever OS version, they all failed. any magic idea ? Thanks ;)

I have this same error on 3 nodes - I have checked networking / Time and connectivity and it all seems ok. Running ncc health checks on different services gives me a range of things to check. Not sure where to start with this. The Hosts are Hyper-V.

Where can download foundation 3.4 ? Thanks in advance

How can I copy guest VM's couple WIN2012R2 and Cent0S off to a network file share? Need to ensure I have backups prior to testing cluster convert. Thanks in advance

We recently had multiple Nutanix Blocks installed and I have started configuring them for Active Directory Authentication; however, logging on using AD Accounts is super slow and takes several minutes to logon. I have configured the Authentication to IP Addresses, FQDN's and DOMAIN but all are still unacceptably slow. ldap://192.168.1.1:389 ldap://server.domain.org:389 ldap://domain.org:389 For the Prism Role mapping, I have configured AD Groups and Single Users and the logon is still super slow. There was a post about change recursive authentication to be off; however, there was no command string associated with NCLI. Anyone experiencing this issue? Would like to know the best practice for configuration AD Authentication. Thanks for any assistance... David

I need to change the IPMI IP Address on 2 Nodes of a 4 Node Dell XC Block. I know how to change the IP from the iDRAC Console; however, how do I get it to update the Nutanix Node? I read through the Admin Manual; however, I could not find anything related to changing the IPMI IP Address. Thanks,David

Hi, When running NCC on one of the customers cluster, the following output is generated... FAIL: Remote site: HQ-NTNXNumber of vstores mapped for the local site on the remote site are not same.Refer to KB 3335 (http://portal.nutanix.com/kb/3335) for details on remote_site_config_check or Recheck with: ncc health_checks data_protection_checks remote_site_checks remote_site_config_check Why is it so important to have the same number of mappings? When we are replication from site A to site B, we can use different mappings than when replication is executed from site B to site A. Regards, Bart

I have a demo Nutanix NX-1020 with three nodes sitting on a bench in a lab environment. Each node is connected to a private 1G 8 port unmanaged switch (Netgear ProSAFE). Six ports are used for metadata traffic using a 10.0.0.xxx subnet. One port is connected to a wall port to access my companies network. I plug my laptop into the eighth port switch. 10.0.0.20-22 - CVM IPs 10.0.0.30-32 - AHV IPs 10.0.0.50 - Cluster IP I have one VM created with dual NICs. The internal NIC has 10.0.0.101 and the external NIC has 172.21.35.23 with the Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and the gateway of 172.21.35.1, but I cannot get access to the company network. Hello Nutanix I am currently in progress of deployment of Acropolis File Services (AFS) Everything has been going well until the "Can't contact LDAP Server" error occured I have given it a check by viewing some configuration on NVM and found out that although on Prism, they have been assigned with 2 IPs but actually running with only 1 IP when checked via console by ifconfig command (eth0 only) Let me make it clearer via the "topology" below: CVMs connecting to NVMs by Subnet A IPs Clients, AD and DNS servers should be connected to NVMs by Subnet B IPs Recently, those NVMs are running with only 1 Subnet A IP although on Prism, I saw they have already assign with both Subnets?! My block is running with AOS 4.7.2. I have also given some seaches around and seen that both Internal and External networks could be the same as described in this video?! I had a WIN VM up and running. But I have uninstalled the NUTANIX GUEST tools and VM MOBILITY tools. Now the VM is broken and I cannot boot. Can you help me to start over ?

Hi all, I created a document describing how to upgrade ESXi on the XC platform for a customer. It uses the Dell iDRAC specifically. If anyone has feedback on anything that was missed or could make things easier I'd appreciate it. Hello Nutanix Currently, my demo cluster has had problem in removing host from cluster The host that I wanted to remove has an SSD showing status: "Marked for removal but not detachable" and it has been kept by that status for a long time with nothing changed despite that the host was shown up as successfully removed the host So, after that I have tried reinstalling this host but that status still showing up and I cannot do anything with the new reinstalled host as well as expanding the cluster with it By the way, I noted that before reinstalling this host, this host was running as a cluster member

Can I move any VM from AHV 4.7 to ESX 5.5. is it possible?

Hello everyone, I am wondering if anyone had any insights on how to get a succesful backup with veeam and nutanix and if there is something I am just overlooking. I know I am oversimplifying but I have followed the best practices setup and have checked all of the settings twice but somehow I still get the following error: 12/5/2015 1:30:11 PM :: Unable to allocate processing resources. Error: Provider [{89300202-3cec-4981-9171-19f59559e0f2}] does not support shadow copies of volume [\LSSHARE01LIFE_NTNX01].--tr:Failed to add volumes to the snapshot set.--tr:Failed to perform pre-backup tasks. I could have sworn that if NOS is added to AD then the share can use the VSS. I am frankly not finding any information on this and have gone from logs, to accounts, to verifying the storage. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
