support for converting ISCSI datastores

I have a hyper-v vm that I’m looking to move to AHV.  it’s a database with iscsi mounts.  I know in the past move was not able to convert them.  Is that still the case?  If so does anyone know a way to convert these datastores? thanks.

How to provide guest credentials when creating Move plan through API

I am able to create a Move plan using the API and Ansible for migrating a VM from vSphere to Nutanix. However, I am unable to specify the guest credentials for the guest operations (like removing VMware Tools from the replicated vm during the migration) in the actual rest call (see code below) as is possible using the GUI. I cannot find any way in the API documentation on how to get the credentials into the request. Moving VMs from one AHV Cluster to another AHV cluster

I was intially told I could use Move to take VMs from old Cluster to New Cluster but alas Move does not move from AHV to AHV, this I find very bizarre as that should be more simple than moving esxi to ahv!So, I have been told to use Data Protection failover - this seems complicated and needs VMs to be stopped and restarted  - I came across Live Migration using Leap - ah ha that looks like a good option but still apears complex.  Do I really need 2 Prism Central instances?  Could I add the second cluster to my exisiting Prism Central then use the Migrate function to move some VMs or is the limitation of different harware still the gotcha?Does anyone have any ideas how I can do this “easily” and “quickly” my boss ain’t a happy man as information from Nutanix has been misleading or downright incorrect.Any help appreciated.

AWS Role based access

We’re testing migrating some workloads out to AWS, our AWS team prefers us to us “Role Based Access” over passing out access keys.  Is there any provision for this or instructions?  I added the role based access permissions to the IAM policy, but receiving the error -  AWS Authorization failed with error: RequestCanceled: request context canceled caused by: context deadline exceeded I’m basing this off of what we’re using for our Citrix environment - Role-based authentication for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops in AWS | Citrix Blogs

Unable to Migrate Fortisiem Collector From VMware to AHV

Hello Team, We are trying to migrate Fortisiem VMs ( Collectors & Supervisors ) from VMWARE to AHV using Move but facing Authentication Failed issue. We verified and we have root access to the VMs and all the rights on the 2 VMs.  Also, the distribution of VMs are Redhat 4.4.7-23). Maybe it’ s a problem of Os compatibility, what do you all think.

Nutanix move migration

We are planning for migrate using Nutanix move from ESXi to AHV.Does it require local admin credentials for migrations for any account with root preveliges is fine.I know the appliance will try to install VirtIO drivers and uninstall vmware tools.But can it be by passed or local admin access is required during migration.Also have another question on Domain controller and Citrix vms running on the vmware ESXi.Are there any pre-requisites to be done before migration. ThanksSriram

SCSI driver issue when moving Windows machines

Long story short, W2016 server moving from HV to AHV. VirtIO drivers are installed (before migration) but whenever the machine boots after migrating to AHV, it's bsods with inaccessible boot device. If I go through the whole booting to recovery, deleting the driver and injecting the driver, it boots up but that's a lot of manual handling.When MOVE migrates to AHV it boots up as SATA drive then it seems to clone the disk and reattaches it as a SCSI drive. It boots to the desktop as SATA but then as a SCSI drive it fails, so the driver issue makes sense. The issue is why the drivers are not working when they're installed on the HV machine before migration and don't work after.

Is there any way to migrate a VM running in VMware ESXI to AHV without using Nutanix Move?  What about if the client has the VM files( vmx, vmdk, etc ) in his external storage device and want to import into AHV?

Migrate Users Windows VMs from AHV to VMware Esxi

Can the Witness VM be migrated From ESXi to AHV?

Hi!We are in the process of migrating our ESXi-vms to Nutanix AHV. Does anyone know if it is a problem to migrate a Witness VM (actually used for two 2-node clusters) to AHV with Nutanix Move or would it be better to install a new one on AHV and switch the clusters over to it?

How can I Shut down Nutanix Move Server?

I was able to build a Nutanix Move server on an AHV and move VMs from Hyper-V onto the AHV.I wanted to shut down the Nutanix Move server since I won't be using it for a while, so I logged in from the console(I found out when I logged in that it was Alpine Linux.) and ran the "poweroff" command, but I got an error "Operation not permitted".How can I shut it down from the console?

Nutanix Move and SHA2 Drivers

It can be found that, when using Nutanix Move to migrate older Windows VMs, an error is exhibited regarding a failure to install the Nutanix App Mobility device drivers and to check if the operating system is SHA2 compatible. This can be due to the fact that certain Windows operating system versions (such as Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008R2) do not natively support SHA2-signed drivers, which is the type of drivers that Nutanix Move uses.This condition can be overcome by: Ensuring that the operating system has all of the latest updates (which are available for it) installed Confirming specifically that Microsoft KB 3033929 is installed. More information regarding this can be found within the VirtIO 1.1.6 installation on Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 knowledge base article.

Nutanix Move - Port Requirements - More detailed info required than what is public

Hello Team,I am working on a project where Nutanix Move will be highly leveraged for migration from Hyper-V, VMware to AHV Cluster. I know the ports that are required to be opened between diff source and destination, however customer is asking for more details as in what is the usage of the ports. Do we have any docs with detailed explanation on port usage? For example usage of ports 2049 (I know its for udp nfs but little more details :))Also some of the follow up questions:Is it mandatory to open port 80 (http) for Nutanix Move to work? Cause in this environment only secured communication is allowed 443 (https) Port 22 used for SSH to Linux VMs - Does it use asymmetric or symmetric encryption?Please advice. Thank you in advance!

Move from ESXi to AHV - VM's stuck on consolidate and removing snapshots

While moving our vm’s from our old storage (ESXi) to our new storage (AHV) two of our vm’s are stuck on consolidating the disk and removing snapshots. Because of this the move to AHV keeps failing and we can’t shutdown the guest while it is consolidating. Any ideas on how we can fix this?
