Migration of Debian with UEFI from ESX

It likes it is not supported with the tool MOVE. Machine is migrated but never boot as hdd is never found. Anybody checked and got a solution as Nutanix Support can not?Thanks in advance!

Stuck at Press F2 for EFI Boot Manager

Hi there, I am trying to create a Windows 10/11 VM in the CE and while I try to boot the VM it never goes ahead of the press F2 to boot into EFI boot manager, I would appreciate your support with my issue Thanks :)

Failed to get inventory for source

Hello everyoneI am trying to move a VM from my VSPHERE environment to my AHV environment using Nutanix Move. I am able to add the source and target without any problem, but when I launch the migration after a few minutes I get this error: Failed to get inventory for source 'vcenterfrbec01.bechard.local'. Preparing a move workload via API

Hello,I have tested Nutanix a bit and would like to know if it is possible to move VMs from Nutanix to Proxmox?I have found the discs from one VM, but I would have to convert the files to gpt etc.?So that I can use the Windows VM in Proxmox again?

Error during driver install portion of Move

I’m trying to migrate off VMWare and ESXi. During Move preparation of the plan I keep getting this error:Failed to execute guest command: '/tmp/nutanix_move/vmware326/installAMD.sh' ExitCode: 'dracut: installkernel failed in module kernel-modules-extra'. Move version 5.2.0Nutanix version pc.2023.3 Anyone run into this and know what the fix is.

Migration of MS Exchange Server from ESXi to AHV via move

Hi,how do you think about migration of a single MS Exchange Server incl. its database via Move?I know that is not recommended but there are some technical facts for?In the past I’ve migrated a lot of MS SQL servers via Move without problems (migration offline while vm was powered off - virtio drivers were installed in a previous step).kind regards,Thomas

How can I get Nutanix Move? When I go to https://portal.nutanix.com/ I get this. I’m running CE edition, and would like to test out moving from test ESXi to my CE edition.

Nutanix Move Performance

Hi Everyone, We are currently doing AHV to AHV migration from a DC to another DC. I need some tips on maximizing migration performance to ensure the migration can be done in the fastest way as we have limited time. does upgrading CPU/RAM of Move VM do the trick? or is there any settings that can be tweak to increase the performance? Thank you

"Move" a vCenter VCSA to a Nutanix AHV Cluster - how?

Hey all. I’m in the midst of testing “Moving” vm’s from ESXi to Nutanix AHV. One of these is testing the move of a vCenter Appliance to an AHV cluster. So far the VCSA does not come up cleanly, seems it loses it’s connection to storage/boot device. I’ve been trying multiple variations of the Move settings, in particular: Bypass Guest Operations on Source VM’s, Retain MAC Address and Skip CDROM AdditionHas anyone successfully completed a Move of a VCSA? Any hints/tips? This may be needed as we vacate ESXi clusters.

The RAM usage on the Controller VM or Prism Central VM has been high, I have tried deleting all the old logs from the affected CVM’s Logs folder, and freed up space upto 6 GB. But still getting this the crritical alert every few hours.

Can I install Move for Nutanix community edition?

I am using Nutanix community edition and I want to install Nutanix move for migration of AHV vms to Aws/Azure. But I am unable to get/install nutanix move zip download file or image file for 4.x versions or even 3.x versions as Support portal is asking for service tags. Any suggestions how can I use Nutanix move for community edition?

Nutanix Move error Reader client error: context deadline exceeded

Hello everyone, new to Nutanix and we are starting to migrate off of ESXi and into Nutanix. We have migrated 20 Vm’s with no issues. We are doing our next 10 migration and we are reciening this error when seeding “Reader client error: rpc error: code = DeadlineExceeded desc = context deadline exceeded” I have verified that Nutanix Drivers are installed on the source VM’s. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a hyper-v vm that I’m looking to move to AHV.  it’s a database with iscsi mounts.  I know in the past move was not able to convert them.  Is that still the case?  If so does anyone know a way to convert these datastores? thanks.

How to provide guest credentials when creating Move plan through API

I am able to create a Move plan using the API and Ansible for migrating a VM from vSphere to Nutanix. However, I am unable to specify the guest credentials for the guest operations (like removing VMware Tools from the replicated vm during the migration) in the actual rest call (see code below) as is possible using the GUI. I cannot find any way in the API documentation on how to get the credentials into the request.
