Request for VDDK 6.0.3 for Nutanix Move

Hello everyone, I am currently facing an issue and need assistance. I am unable to locate and download VDDK 6.0.3, which is required for Nutanix Move to Upload and migrate VMs from vSphere ESXi 5.1. I have already checked the VMware (Broadcom) website, but the minimum version available for download is VDDK 6.7. If anyone has the VDDK 6.0.3 file saved or knows an alternative source for obtaining it, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share it with me.

VM resolution stuck at 1280x1024 after MOVE from ESXi to AHV

We are starting to migrate from ESXi to AHV, using the MOVE application. And as the title says, all the VMs are stuck on 1280x1024 resolution when they come up on AHV. I’ve tried the “Preferred Resolution” change mentioned here Display resolution in Windows Server 2016 (AHV-VM) stuck to 1280x1024 | Nutanix Community I change the Preferred resolution from “<Unset>” to “1920x1080”, but as soon as I exit and boot into Windows, it goes back to 1280x1024 and won’t change. Some posts mention not having Guest Tools installed before the MOVE, but that made no difference for us. I’m stuck at the same resolution, regardless of whether Guest Tools was installed prior to MOVE or not. Nor does the method of access - launch console or RDP, the VM resolution is hard coded to this annoyingly small (by 21st century standards) resolution. And all my VMs are UEFI, which is pretty much the default. And obviously that can’t be changed, without deleting the whole VM. Is there any workaround or resolution (s

Is it possible to migrate a VM (Domain Controller) from ESXi to AHV? Is there a problem? How to do it?

A client has requested to migrate a Windows Server VM (Domain Controller) installed in a VMWare ESXi cluster to the Nutanix cluster with AHV. I have only migrated Windows and Linux VMs with Nutanix Move, in this case I do not know if it is advisable to do the migration. I have not found any information on this matter. I would appreciate if you could tell me if it is possible to migrate the Domain Controller without any problems or if it is advisable to create a new VM configured as a Domain Controller in Nutanix. If it is possible to do the task with Nutanix Move, how should I do it? Thank you.

Migrate Windows VM with Symantec Anti Virus to AHV

We have a customer with Windows VM and running Symantec Anti Virus in it, we are not able to migrate those VMs to AHV using Move tool as it gives an Access Denied Error. We are able to RDP into the Server with the Credentials We have disabled UAC Enabled Local Admin credentials Installed VirtIO Drivers Any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful

Move Not Detecting Correct OS

Trying to migrate a Server 2008 R2 server, and when I try to do a manual migration and run the script on the server, its saying its not running a supported OS. Support is trying to help, but we really aren’t getting anywhere, and I’m running up against a hard deadline to get this server migrated.

Migration of Debian with UEFI from ESX

It likes it is not supported with the tool MOVE. Machine is migrated but never boot as hdd is never found. Anybody checked and got a solution as Nutanix Support can not? Thanks in advance!

Failed to get inventory for source

Hello everyone I am trying to move a VM from my VSPHERE environment to my AHV environment using Nutanix Move. I am able to add the source and target without any problem, but when I launch the migration after a few minutes I get this error: Failed to get inventory for source 'vcenterfrbec01.bechard.local'. Preparing a move workload via API

Following on from this post: https://next.nutanix.com/move-application-migration-19/how-to-provide-guest-credentials-when-creating-move-plan-through-api-41667 Trying to add credentials to my move plan, via the prepare api -https://www.nutanix.dev/api_reference/apis/move.html#tag/Plan/operation/preparePlan Anyone know the format or have an example of the prepare payload? Hello,I have tested Nutanix a bit and would like to know if it is possible to move VMs from Nutanix to Proxmox?I have found the discs from one VM, but I would have to convert the files to gpt etc.? So that I can use the Windows VM in Proxmox again?

Error during driver install portion of Move

I’m trying to migrate off VMWare and ESXi. During Move preparation of the plan I keep getting this error: Failed to execute guest command: '/tmp/nutanix_move/vmware326/installAMD.sh' ExitCode: 'dracut: installkernel failed in module kernel-modules-extra'. Move version 5.2.0 Nutanix version pc.2023.3 Anyone run into this and know what the fix is.

Migration of MS Exchange Server from ESXi to AHV via move

Hi, how do you think about migration of a single MS Exchange Server incl. its database via Move? I know that is not recommended but there are some technical facts for? In the past I’ve migrated a lot of MS SQL servers via Move without problems (migration offline while vm was powered off - virtio drivers were installed in a previous step). kind regards, Thomas

How can I get Nutanix Move? When I go to https://portal.nutanix.com/ I get this. I’m running CE edition, and would like to test out moving from test ESXi to my CE edition.

Nutanix Move Performance

Hi Everyone, We are currently doing AHV to AHV migration from a DC to another DC. I need some tips on maximizing migration performance to ensure the migration can be done in the fastest way as we have limited time. does upgrading CPU/RAM of Move VM do the trick? or is there any settings that can be tweak to increase the performance? "Move" a vCenter VCSA to a Nutanix AHV Cluster - how?

Hey all. I’m in the midst of testing “Moving” vm’s from ESXi to Nutanix AHV. One of these is testing the move of a vCenter Appliance to an AHV cluster. So far the VCSA does not come up cleanly, seems it loses it’s connection to storage/boot device. I’ve been trying multiple variations of the Move settings, in particular: Bypass Guest Operations on Source VM’s, Retain MAC Address and Skip CDROM Addition Has anyone successfully completed a Move of a VCSA? Any hints/tips? This may be needed as we vacate ESXi clusters.

The RAM usage on the Controller VM or Prism Central VM has been high, I have tried deleting all the old logs from the affected CVM’s Logs folder, and freed up space upto 6 GB. But still getting this the crritical alert every few hours.

Can I install Move for Nutanix community edition?

I am using Nutanix community edition and I want to install Nutanix move for migration of AHV vms to Aws/Azure. But I am unable to get/install nutanix move zip download file or image file for 4.x versions or even 3.x versions as Support portal is asking for service tags. Any suggestions how can I use Nutanix move for community edition?

Nutanix Move error Reader client error: context deadline exceeded

Hello everyone, new to Nutanix and we are starting to migrate off of ESXi and into Nutanix. We have migrated 20 Vm’s with no issues. We are doing our next 10 migration and we are reciening this error when seeding “Reader client error: rpc error: code = DeadlineExceeded desc = context deadline exceeded” I have verified that Nutanix Drivers are installed on the source VM’s. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
