Effortless Capacity Planning Streamlines Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) Solutions

Hi When entering a workload in Sizer, there is an option to select the existing CPU.For example, let’s assume that we are planning to deploy 100 VMs, each with 4 vCores and 8 GB of memory. If I select “Yes, but I don’t know the current processor” and then choose Default, the estimated CPU utilization is approximately 75% when configured with a 3-node cluster, each node having 2 CPUs with 32 cores. However, if I edit the workload and select “Yes, but I don’t know the current processor”, the estimated CPU utilization increases to around 110%.In other words, I am not sure which criteria I should use when performing sizing. Why does the estimated utilization differ so significantly even though the workload itself is the same?Is there any detailed guidance available for this? It may be that I have not been able to find it, so I would appreciate your assistance.
Anyone facing problem with Sizer today 05/19/26? When I access Sizer, I can't see my scenarios anymore. I saw in the past whe this occurs, was problem in Akamai, but I need to know when this will normalize.
Hi all,I am sizing environments and really like to also add the correct licensing to the scenario and export the BOM to request this at the distribution. Unfortunately I have had it now the second time over the last months that licensing was not included correctly. This time I have a scenario with 10 VMs, 5TiB Objects and wanted NCI Edge Pro, NCM Edge Starter and 5 TiB NUS Pro with Adv. Replication. The BOM exported is listing the NCI-E Pro but in addition also Core based licensing. The 5 TiB NUS are missing also the Adv. Replication in the Excel and PDF BOM export.Anybody else with same findings or any thoughts on this?Sebastian
Hello Team,The specifications provided by Lenovo has an OCP networking on the HX630(650) V4.https://lenovopress.lenovo.com/lp2132-lenovo-thinkagile-hx630-v4-hyperconverged-system#table-overview-of-featuresHowever, you cannot select items for NIC(FLOM-OCP) in Sizer. Is there a reason?

Good morning,I wanted to get a confirmation: if I have a VMware vSphere environment with VMs configured with Thick Provision disks (for example, a disk with 1 TB of allocated space but 500 GB of actual used space), when I migrate it to a Nutanix AHV environment, which supports only Thin disks, will the migrated VM consume 1 TB or 500 GB of real space on the cluster?Additionally, if only the actual used space is taken into account, why does the Nutanix Sizer, when importing an RVTools file, base its calculations on the allocated space rather than the actual used space shown in the vPartition tab?Thank you.
As a Nutanix partner, we are currently planning to migrate part of our workloads to the Nutanix infrastructure. We have already completed internal sizing for our environments and would like Nutanix's assistance to validate and optimize the sizing on Nutanix.Could someone from the Nutanix team or community guide us on the recommended process and tools for accurate infrastructure sizing?Thank you :)
On all my latest sizing configs I seem to be unable to create a proposal.I get the following error: e.response.headers.get(...) is null Any idea where to look?
Hello, everyone.During the last Nutanix .NEXT event (05/07/2025), the partnership between Pure Storage and Nutanix was announced, enabling the use of Compute Only (CO) clusters integrated with Pure's FlashArray. (https://blog.purestorage.com/news-events/pure-storage-solution-with-nutanix/) When accessing Sizer, I still haven't found a specific option for pure "CO" where I can combine nutanix+pure. So I did the way I found, I selected "CO + SO", I can't exclude the nodes with "Storage Only" function, which makes it difficult to simulate the desired scenario. I would like to understand a few things, if anyone knows and can contribute with information:→ How to perform the correct sizing for "Compute Only" clusters integrated with a Pure Storage FlashArray? → Is it possible to configure Nutanix hosts with zero local disks, relying 100% on Pure's external storage? → Is there a recommended or supported limit of CO hosts per FlashArray? (example: I need at least 3xCO+Pure to ensure functional
Hi All, I am very new to Nutanix. I am looking to size our environment on Nutanix platform which is currently on VMware. I am looking to size 50TiB of storage in the Nutanix cluster(3 node cluster at beginning) and how many disk are need for achieving so. The cluster will be all NVMe. Does Nutanix need cache disk for All NVme cluster as well like VSAN OSA or it’s same as VSAN ESA. I will be very grateful for any suggestions or link for correct documentation. Thank You
Hi, I have a question about exporting BOM.I have troubles when I tried to download BOM. An error show “Cannot invoke "com.nutanix.sizer.persistence.domain.BlockDistributionData.isExistingModel()" because "blockDistributionData" is null”” and download failed. What should I do for fix this problem? Regards,
I noticed that the option to retrieve the BOM from the sizer is grayed out. Additionally, when I attempt to modify the cluster settings, I receive a message stating: 'You cannot add/edit advanced cluster filter options for basic users.
Getting the error message when trying to import ZIP file into Collector.
I have a question about "95th Percentile Number" for output of Nutanix collector 5.1.I am running I/O of Read/Write from vdbench on virtul machine of VMware environment (ESXi 7.0U1 and vCSA 8.0.0.10100) , but the "95th Percentile Number of Writes" and "95th Percentile Number of Reads" values on "vHosts", "vCluster" and "vInfo"are 0.Could you please advise me on how to solve this problem.
Dear Support,My problem is that i would login to the sizer.nutanix.com website, the login window looping.I have a valid registration and a certifiace as well. One of my collague has the same problem. Thanks for your help. Bálint Schlenker
When attempting to log in to Prism Central for the first time, I encountered the following issues despite using the default Nutanix username and password.
A client was not able to run the collector app during a call. Hello i need to configure a HPE HW on the sizer but i don avaible to do that ! please help me
Is there a feature within the Nutanix Sizer that allows for manual adjustment of the vCPU to pCPU ratio? If so, could someone guide me through the process or point me to the relevant documentation or resources?
We have this HCI project that span in 4 different location data center with DR site in mind.Site 1400 VM + 10 PB Disk Site 2400 VM + 5PB Disk Site 350 VM + 5PB DiskSite 4200 VM + 5PB DiskRF3 model VM and Disk capacity is based on 5 yr projected growth.VMs is between Large to XL type.We cannot come up with best DELL XC model for this setup is XC760 can accommodate this requirements?Any suggestions
Hi team,i want to do sizing for cisco HCI with Nutanix, but i am not found hardware for cisco. i just have hardware for Nutanix (NX-series). please your help.
I am trying to size a Dell XC configuration, but Dell or Dell XC is not coming up in sizer? Is this intentional?
HI, I tried to create DX360 Gen11 8SFF scinario with 2x 4410Y CPU & 7.68TB 2.5 inch Samsung RI ---SSD(P56763-B21), but Sizer shows following message and I can’t save the config:---Due to thermal restrictions on DX360 Gen11 platforms, if 8470Q/6458Q processor is selected, then drive type can't be SAS SSD or NVMe in cluster "Cluster-1". ---I think it should be fixed, or could you please show a workaround?
I want to create a configuration in Sizer that takes a snapshot once a day. However, an error message is displayed on Sizer and configuration is not possible."Cluster: 'Cluster-1' nodes with SSD capacity less than 7.68TB are not allowed when configuring Hybrid nodes with RPO of 6 hour and node capacity ranging from >96TB upto 136TB. For more info, refer to Nutanix Maximum Configurations & Snapshot Frequency Field Requirements"Sizer's workload only has Daily Snapshots set."Hourly Snapshot Retained" is unchecked. However, for some reason, the condition check for 6 hours RPO is caught, and the hardware cannot be configured. What should I do to remove this error?
Hi, I’m trying to make some changes to a configuration I put together for a customer, in relation to the Mine backup. I am trying to alter any aspect (in particular I’m trying to change the retention to be longer, wtih fewer VM’s) - but each time I try I get the error “ The number of Server Virtualisation VMs in cluster: CLUSTER should not be more than total nodes in the cluster. “ Anyone know what this is please?
