I need to change the IPMI IP Address on 2 Nodes of a 4 Node Dell XC Block. I know how to change the IP from the iDRAC Console; however, how do I get it to update the Nutanix Node?

I read through the Admin Manual; however, I could not find anything related to changing the IPMI IP Address.

Thanks,David

- That link (KB 1507, i.e: https://portal.nutanix.com/#/page/kbs/details?targetId=kA0600000008dhiCAA) is a Partner only KB for backend troubleshooting.

 - Thanks for your persistence here. The customer facing documentation on this is here: https://portal.nutanix.com/#/page/docs/details?targetId=Hardware_Admin_Ref-AOS_v4_7:ip__ipmi_ip_addr_change_t.html

Obviously this is labeled as a NX/SX series guide, but as you'll see, the steps are almost completely common against Dell iDRAC (i.e Dell's IPMI port), especially the CVM side stuff.

That all said, I see your point, we should have this called out specifically for XC nodes on our customer site, so I've made an internal ticket to have the documentation team tighten that up.

Since you're using XC platform you just need to configure via iDRAC
IPMI used for NX platform

Yeah that is what I figured but Prism generates an alert about changing the IPMI IP address without following the procedures but there is nothing about it.So far these XC Nutanix Boxes have been a huge headache; especially with support and having to go through Dell and then to Nutanix.

- Agreed, just saying that this user would not be able to see that KB if he logged in as the permissions aren't set to all users. I think we're squared away here, so we should be all good.
