Hi Team,I am trying to set up a small Nutanix lab environment on VMware ESXi for learning and testing Prism Central integration. However, I do not have access to the Nutanix Support Portal, so I am unable to download the Prism Central OVA file.I checked multiple links but they all redirect to the support portal login page.Is there any:Community / trial download for Prism Central OVA (ESXi format), or Alternative way to obtain a POC/evaluation copy for lab use?I am not using this for production, only for learning and testing.Any guidance would be appreciated.Thank you.
Currently attempting to apply dark site cluster based license on PCVM of Prism Central with versions: 2024.3.1.10 with NCC 5.1.2 and LCM 3.1.1 with the command “~/ncc/bin/license_key_util apply key=license_key cluster=cluster_uuid”Prism Element Clusters are on AOS 7.0.1.5, NCC 5.2.0.1 and LCM 3.2.1However when I run the command I receive a “Segmentation fault (core dumped)” error message. Is there a reason why this would be occurring? I checked and verified that all versions are above the minimum supported version.
Hello Nutanix Community, I have customer who is planning to upgrade AOS 6.5 to AOS 7.3 with PC 2022.9 running on Hyper-V 2022 from our Nutanix Cluster. They cannot upgrade to PC 2024.2 or higher (PC 7.3) due to Hyper-V 2022 is not supported on this latest PC versions. Customer is asking if they can upgrade AOS 7.3 only? And still manage the cluster via PC 2022.9?May I know If there is any performance, support, licensing, and operational impact If customer continues on AOS 7.3 w/ PC2022.9? I understand that PC2022.9 is already EOSL and our SRE may not able to assist if running on EOSL version.I did check AOS 7.3 to PC version compatibility unfortunately it doesn’t show PC2022.9. Note that customer is not ready to move yet to AHV due to internal application dependencies and business directions. They are also not using the Prism Central except for managing the NCI Pro license. Looking forward for your helpful response. Thanks and regards,OJ
Hello,We have licenses for our on-prem servers that are expiring in a couple of weeks and we don’t have approval to spend the money to renew them just yet. I can do monthly billing with no-commitment though. I’m wondering if we can switch the licenses to use PAYG licenses through the Azure marketplace, AWS marketplace or similar. Is it possible to pay for licenses on a monthly term and use them for our on-prem systems? Here’s what we have for licensing. 1 X Nutanix AOS Ultimate - subscription license renewal + Production Support -Mfg. Dear Nutanix Support Team,I recently purchased a used Nutanix server, and I am currently facing an issue accessing the Support Portal. Upon attempting to log in, I was prompted to enter a serial number, service tag, or software registration ID. Unfortunately, as this is a second-hand purchase, I do not have the original order fulfillment email or access to the necessary information.I kindly request your assistance with the following: Activating my access to the Support Portal for this Nutanix server. Initiating the process for transferring ownership and support entitlements to my account. I am happy to provide any necessary details, including the serial number, proof of purchase, and company information, to verify my ownership and facilitate this request. Please let me know the steps I should follow or any additional information you require to resolve this matter.Thank you for your time and support.
After deploying 6 Lenovo ThinkAgile HX650 V3 CE nodes in a single cluster, Nutanix Prism Element shows that it has no active licenses. In the Nutanix portal website with the end user credentials, it can be seen that it has the starter and pro licenses. When uploading the cluster summary file generated by Nutanix Prism Element, it shows the error "No compatible products found for the uploaded cluster summary file". The cluster does not have access to DNS or an NTP server. I have also tried entering the cluster information as Dark Site but it continues to show the same error. I would appreciate it if you could tell me how I can overcome the error and upload the license. Thank you.
Hello, I must upgrade a cluster from AOS 5.15.5 to AOS 6.10.The cluster owns legacy license that are already under maintenance. Do I need to convert them to the new Portfolio ?I prefer to keep the legacy license because the cluster is highlty use and I am not want to a one or three PC VM.I think the conversion is not mandatory but I can’t find the official documentation. Thanks for any answer.Julien
Prism Central displays a blue banner with the following message even though the cluster is fully licensed:Your environment is partially licensed. The operational features and data will be available for licensed clusters only. This is a cosmetic issue that does not impact performance or functionality. This issue is fixed in Prism Central pc.2023.1.0.2 and newer releases.
Some of you might be receiving a red banner in Prism Central saying you have license violation for Flow license like in the below screenshot, If you want to continue using Flow Network Security (FNS), install a valid Flow license. Refer to the Licensing documentation on the Support PortalHowever, if you are not using Flow Network Security (FNS) or any of its related features and still receive this warning, this is a known issue in Prism Central version pc.2022.x.x and has been fixed in pc version above pc.2023.x. However, this violation banner does not impact production or cluster functionalities. You can learn more about Flow and its features here - https://www.nutanix.com/products/legacy/software-options As always, should you have any questions or face any issues, please feel free to reach out to us or create a case by writing to portal-accounts@nutanix.com and we will be happy to assist you.
If you see a warning that says, "Warning! The current license level does not allow for the use of this feature" while creating a File Server, you can still proceed by clicking Continue. This warning is informational and will not prevent the file server creation process from continuing. If the CONTINUE field is greyed out, you need to download the file image and set the data services IP. This will enable the CONTINUE button.
Getting notifications about expired licenses every time you open Prism Central, however, the licenses have been renewed? Dont worry! If you renewed the licenses and the old expiration date is still showing up on Prism Central or the Portal all we need to do is relicense Prism so the latest expiration date is updated. Complete the Licensing process in Prism Central and your environment shouldl be updated to the latest expirations.Check KB 8098 for detailed instructions for non renewed and KB 7837 for already renewed licenses…
