I have a ticket open but there are long delays between responses and I’m wondering if anyone in the community has run into this issue.Trying to move a 2012R2 File Server and when running the manual preparation script, I get this failure on Installing VirtIO drivers.Failed to install VirtIO drivers. This would impact migrated VM's network connectivity in AHV cluster.Now, I have since just manually installed the VirtIO drivers and they install without issue.  However, I’d like to see the full preparation script finish successfully before I try a move.  I’m not sure why it’s even trying to install the drivers when they are already there, I would think they would just see them and move on.Has anyone one seen this one and gotten past it?

Hi I’m testing the Nutanix API v3 on a AOS 7.5 cluster through the prism central API. I came across the `https://ip_address:9440/api/nutanix/v3/users` endpoint that allows us to create a new user. However, I can’t see to find a way to create a user that’s not tied to any identity provider (local user).  Is there even such a thing? Or is it not supported through the API? Because I can’t see an attribute for that in the payload from the official documentation. I couldn’t find an endpoint for this functionality on other API versions, that’s why I’m using v3. Any help is much appreciated.

Is there any way to perform this activity in Element or Prism?Using the console interface doesn't allow it.

En el caso ultimo de poner un nodo en mantenimiento, una VM con numa activo, (solo numa, sin CPU pin concreto que es otra config, aunque el numa ya hace un cpu pin realmente) la VM se movería o se quedaría apagada? I am setting up recovery plans for disaster recovery between our two clusters. I have been through the documentation multiple times, and I still am confused by the test failover/failback subnets that are configured as part of the recovery plan. Production is easy. We have the primary cluster in one location in Subnet A. We have a recovery cluster in another location in Subnet B. I just set the production subnets to be Subnet A and B at each location respectively with their matching gateway and prefix. The Test Failover/Failback subnets continue to confuse me. The documentation indicates they should be isolated and non-routable subnets which makes sense. But WHERE are those subnets defined? We use external IPAM. Each cluster is connected to a core switch stack at its location. We have a few different subnets/VLANs defined on those core switches, with a defined IP range, /24 in each case. Hi,Im working on a project where we need to deploy a new Nutanix Files instance on a new AHV cluster.The customer already has an existing Nutanix Files deployment running on an older AHV cluster that will be destroyed as soon as it is migrated. Also as part of the project we will have to migrate the existing shares and data from the old Files environment to the new one (as well as from other FS not related with nutanix files).I would like to clarify two main points:1. Deployment method: Prism Central vs Prism ElementFor a new Nutanix Files deployment, is it currently recommended to deploy and manage the File Server from Prism Central / Files Manager, or is it still preferable in some cases to deploy it directly from Prism Element?My understanding is that Prism Central / Files Manager is the more modern and centralized approach, especially when managing multiple clusters or using newer Files features, but this scenario means we have only one prism central and one cluster so I would like

Hi all,I am sizing environments and really like to also add the correct licensing to the scenario and export the BOM to request this at the distribution. Unfortunately I have had it now the second time over the last months that licensing was not included correctly.This time I have a scenario with 10 VMs, 5TiB Objects and wanted NCI Edge Pro, NCM Edge Starter and 5 TiB NUS Pro with Adv. Replication. The BOM exported is listing the NCI-E Pro but in addition also Core based licensing. The 5 TiB NUS are missing also the Adv. Replication in the Excel and PDF BOM export.Anybody else with same findings or any thoughts on this?Sebastian

Hi Colleagues,Recently, I’ve don AOS & AHV version upgrade for PE cluster (8 CVMs) which is hosted PC cluster with 3 PCVMs from AOS 6.10.1.7 to 7.3.1.2. PC version is 7.3.1.1.After upgrade, there is an issue of HTTP 420 code is happening and cannot proceed with VM migration cross clusters.Does anyone have the idea or experiences with this? Thanks.

I'm trying to deploy Prism Central (PC) from Prism Element (PE). Previously, I had registered a PC to the cluster and then unregistered it to redeploy a new one.However, during the new deployment, at the “Size and Scale” step, no selectable options (Small/Medium/Large) are shown — only the description text appears.Current situation:No dropdown or selectable options available No explicit error message Cluster is running normallyI'm not sure if this issue is related to the previous register/unregister of PC, or due to resource constraints, version mismatch, or a UI issue.Has anyone experienced this after unregistering PC? Is there any cleanup required on the cluster before redeploying Prism Central?

Hi Experts !We recently upgraded one of our Nutanix clusters to AOS 6.8.1.8 and started facing an issue with the Cerebro service shortly after.Symptoms observed:Remote replication alerts after the upgrade.Remote site configuration warning indicating that some CVM/SVM IPs were not properly configured on the peer site.Cerebro entering a crash loop?cluster status showing constantly changing/high PIDs for Cerebro.cerebro.FATAL reporting an error similar to: Check failed: citer != (pd.second)->snapshot_uuid_map().end() with a snapshot stuck in a pending action.It looks like there is a stale or orphaned snapshot operation in the WAL / metadata, likely triggered after the upgrade while replication configuration was not fully consistent.Has anyone already seen this behavior after an AOS upgrade?Did you resolve it by fixing the remote site configuration only, or did it require Nutanix Support intervention to skip/clean the offending WAL operation?Thanks :)

Can default vswitch vs0 be renamed on a new AHV 7.5 cluster? The only VMs on the cluster are the controller VMs.

Hi Experts!We are planning a migration from an existing AHV cluster (AOS 6.x) to a new AHV cluster running AOS 7.5.1, and we need to migrate our Active Directory Domain Controllers.We are aware that the official Move documentation states that DC migration is "not recommended but can be performed with some limitations", and that AOS 6.7+ supports VM Generation ID to reduce USN rollback risks.We have a few questions :Has anyone successfully migrated Domain Controllers using Nutanix Move in an AHV-to-AHV scenario on AOS 6.7 or higher ?Did you experience any USN rollback, replication issues, or post-migration AD inconsistencies ?Any specific pre/post-migration checks you would recommend for this use case ?Constraint: We need to keep the same IP addresses for our DCs after migrationThanks in advance

Hello everyone,I currently have an AOS Pro license and am planning to convert it to NCI Pro. In my environment, I am already using Prism Central, and I understand that Prism Central is required as part of the conversion process.However, I would like to clarify the potential impact if I do not convert the license to NCI Pro before the current AOS Pro license expires.Specifically:Will there be any service disruption or limitation on cluster operations? What features will be affected or disabled after the license expires? Will Prism Central functionality be impacted in any way? Is there any grace period or compliance warning before enforcement?I would appreciate any insights or official references regarding this scenario.

I am deploying a new AHV environment with 10 clusters. Each cluster will have the same subets/vlans. If I create these from Prism Central can I check the box next each cluster in the subnet creation screen so that each cluster gets the subnet?

I recently deployed Nutanix , but when I am opening web browser it is showing and I belive that it might be the certificate issue. I issued a commad to check the certificate in CVM and it is showing below and my system team already passed the date and time, what might be the other issue. Are we able to configure a recovery plan in Nutanix Leap when we have Production and DR clusters (10 Clusters each) managed across two separate PCVMs (both running version 7.5.0.5)?Currently, while creating the recovery plan, I can select individual VMs, but I do not see an option to select at the cluster level. Is this expected behavior when using two PCVMs, and how can we properly configure a recovery plan in this setup?Any guidance on achieving this design would be helpful.

We have a cluster that is not being used currently, and would like to run VMware/VSAN on it for testing some things. Is this doable? I am not worried it not supported as it is very temporary and Nutanix will be put back on it. I know ESXi is supported but you have to use CVM still to present the disk I think. So has anyone tried using Nutanix hardware (NX-1175S-G9) to run ESXi and more importantly VSAN natively? I know there are lots of variables here, especially disks being recognized, etc.

Evening,I’ve created a cluster with four nodes using the Nutanix Community Edition. Does anyone have a quick cheat sheet on updating everything. This is my second go around, and the last time, everything updated, but Prism stopped responding even after I updated. Do I need to upgrade Prism First? what’s the difference between Prism that comes after the install and Prism Central?Any suggestions on steps to updating everything before I start creating Virtual Machines would be helpful.Thanks, James
