Hello Everyone,Iam learning NC2 on Azure from couple of months and preparing documents out of my learning, I need assistance in below queries if anyone can assist, would be really great !!! How do we manage Load Balancer Deployment in NC2 on Azure, Do we deploy LB in Hub VNET?  or how it is being deployed. Also How do we manage Firewall in NC2 on Azure.

Currently attempting to apply dark site cluster based license on PCVM of Prism Central with versions: 2024.3.1.10 with NCC 5.1.2 and LCM 3.1.1 with the command “~/ncc/bin/license_key_util apply key=license_key cluster=cluster_uuid”Prism Element Clusters are on AOS 7.0.1.5, NCC 5.2.0.1 and LCM 3.2.1However when I run the command I receive a “Segmentation fault (core dumped)” error message. Is there a reason why this would be occurring? I checked and verified that all versions are above the minimum supported version. 

I want to Install Nutanix on Dell power edge R740xd but i faced lots of error, there log screens show these errors When i Used nutanix foundation for windows the error i faced IPMItools is missing, i tried foundation on virtualbox but still ipmi can,t mount iso file What should I do to run this lab successfully 🤔

Hi everyone,I’m trying to download the latest version of Nutanix Community Edition (CE), specifically v7.1 or newer (ideally matching AOS 7.3). However, I can only find the download link for CE v6.8.1 on the official portal.Does Nutanix still offer CE versions aligned with AOS 7.x (e.g., 7.1, 7.2, or 7.3)? If so, could someone please share the correct download link or guidance on how to access it?Thanks in advance!

I am working on setting up DR replication between two 3 node Nutanix clusters running AOS and AHV. Can someone help clarify something for me? It does not appear that you can replicate a PC VM, and the clusters can only be registered to a single PC instance. So:If the cluster hosting the PC VM were to go down, how would you be able to initiate a manual failover with the controlling PC VM also down?Do I need to stand up PC on each cluster and register each to a separate PC instance to avoid this single point of failure?Is bi-directional replication possible with two clusters registered to the same PC? It appears that once a protection policy is setup to replicate from cluster A-->B that A is no longer an option to setup as a replication target from cluster B.

Hi. It appears that you cannot backup PC to an AWS storage gateway, it must be able to reach AWS natively. Is this true? Thank you!

I create a 3 node cluster on top of ESXi for lab. assign 3 nic in each node. After cluster build  by default 4 nic attach with switch vs0. When i remove 2 nic from the vs0, it automatically hypervisor rolling restart.  How can i remove 2 nic form vs0. I tried from cli but result same.  

I had a previous topic open on this but it’s been a while.  The previous topic concluded that the NICS weren’t compatible so I replaced them and reinstalled Nutanix CE.  It’s now installed but I don’t think it’s picking up the NICS still and I cannot get into the console to see.  The cards are Intel X550 cards.  Any ideas?

Hi, I an trying to run a Capacity and Utilization report in Prism Central Version 7.3.0.6 and I read that the Reports feature was removed and if I wanted to run the report to go to Analytics > Dashboards but I cannot see this either. I am new to Nutanix so any help in the right direction would be grateful.

Hello Nutanix Community,I am developing a self-service runbook (python scripts) in Prism Central to implement a time-based GPU billing model, allowing administrators to attach a GPU to a VM for a specific duration.The Core QuestionIs there a supported or known method (API-driven or otherwise) to dynamically populate a Runbook Input Variable (specifically a List of Values/Dropdown) at runtime, based on a query to the Prism API?For example: Could a pre-run script execute a gpus/list query to determine available vGPU profiles and format that output to populate the options list for the gpu_profile_selection variable before the form is presented to the user?

お世話になっております。VMware ESXiでは頻出事項ですので、初歩的な質問になりますが、どなたかご教示頂きたく、お願いします。 AHV上のWindows VMに接続されているDiskをデタッチして、別のWindows VMにアタッチする方法を教えてください。 ソースWindows VMには、default-containerにC:ドライブとしてのDisk、D:ドライブとしてのDiskがそれぞれ接続してあります。このD:ドライブを同一default-container上の別のWindows VMに、D:ドライブとしてアタッチしたいです。 なお、この操作の上で、ディスクのコピーは発生しないことを期待しております。 また、ソースWindows VMはProtection Domain、Async DR設定してあり、新しいVMも同様にDRできるようにしたいですが、注意点があればご教示頂きたくお願いいたします。 よろしくお願いいたします。 追記．本番環境はAHV。私の試験環境はCommunity Editionです。GenAIに質問してみると、VMのUpdate画面でデタッチできるとの回答がありましたが、私の環境にはその選択肢はありません。       

Hi everyoneI have to deploy a Metro Availability architecture for two AHV clusters (no ESXi involved) and I have several questions so I’d appreciate some feedback from those who have deployed similar setups. The main goal is to achieve the lowest possible RPO and RTO between two datacenters with a robust and simple architecture. Both clusters will be separated by about 100m on two separate buildings and they will be connected with FC cables (<5ms).As far as I know, only ESXi with vMSC supports true RTO = 0 However, since this environment is AHV-only, my understanding is that in a failover event the VMs from Site A would need to be powered on in Site B rather than running continuously on both sides... Is that correct?That being said, here you are the possible scenarios to deploy Metro Availability between both sites: Two AHV clusters in active–active mode, without an external Witness Two AHV clusters in active–active mode, with an external Witness (this one looks nice for me) Two

Hi. I am new to Nutanix. Our first cluster was pre-configured. We use two internal NTP appliances at the time, and we just purchsed a third. I was logging in to configure it and noticed some oddities.It appears first that I had to set add the new NTP server both to prism central and element. After I added it to Element this command on a CVM was accurate “ncli cluster get-ntp-servers” However the AHV hosts do not appear to get this new server from either prism central or element.  “sudo chronyc -n sources -v” confirmed the original 2 ntp servers were the only ones configured. I added the third and restarted chronyd and it showed up now and is syncing however moving on to the 2nd and 3rd AHV host, the chrony conf is much different. It has the ntp server as the first ntp host? Was this a mistake on part of the installer? I would assyme it should have the exact chroyd.thank you for any clarificaiton.

With the Starter license, am I able to configure asynchronous replication in both directions— from site A to site B and from site B to site A?

Hi Folks,am updating my script for creating a snapshot and store in file device am currently using V3 prism central APIs and want to migrate to use V4 APIS. someone help me with the sample response of APIS in V3 and V4 for List VMS.V4: https://{pc-ip}:9440/api/vmm/v4.1/ahv/config/vmsV2 prism element:  $CLUSTER/PrismGateway/services/rest/v2.0/vms → am using this currently. any dummy VM response is fine just want to estimate the changes and complexity.

Good morning,I wanted to get a confirmation: if I have a VMware vSphere environment with VMs configured with Thick Provision disks (for example, a disk with 1 TB of allocated space but 500 GB of actual used space), when I migrate it to a Nutanix AHV environment, which supports only Thin disks, will the migrated VM consume 1 TB or 500 GB of real space on the cluster?Additionally, if only the actual used space is taken into account, why does the Nutanix Sizer, when importing an RVTools file, base its calculations on the allocated space rather than the actual used space shown in the vPartition tab?Thank you.

Hi,I need to deploy a Nutanix Files service on a 3-node AHV cluster. The goal is to replace an old Windows File Server, so once the deployment is done I will need to migrate all the data to the new Nutanix Files setup.While reviewing the Nutanix documentation, I’m a bit confused about the deployment requirements. Specifically: How many IP addresses are required for Nutanix Files in this scenario? From what I understand, the minimum seems to be around 7 IPs 3 for FSVMs 1 for Data Service 1 for VIP 1 or 2 for internal services Why is it recommended to place those IPs in a separate subnet/VLAN? I’m not sure if this is mandatory or just a best practice. Thanks.

Hello Team,While deploying the cluster using Foundation Tool, is there any way to provide pre-reserved CVM names anywhere before initiating the cluster build process through this tool?If not, how can change the name of CVM (inside OS) after cluster got built? How much risky is this process? You feedback/help in this matter will be highly appreciated. -Anil

Hello, I have installed a 2 Node cluster using nutanix foundation VM with witness node as a tie breaker in dell xc4510 and everything is running fine. I have created multiple production VM. I have an another host with same hardware configuration and want to convert 2 node to 3 node cluster. I want to know the best procedure to achieve this.

Hi all,I have 2 sites with a cluster in each site. The workloads are distributed between each cluster. I currently have one Prism Central managing both clusters.I have DR configured to a passive site hosted by a 3rd party in a datacenter in different region.There are resources on each cluster available, so now I want to configure DR between the clusters. At least for the critical VM’s. This should allow me to failover the critical servers quickly if only one site goes down. I’ll use the passive site if both go down.I’m assuming I will need to deploy another PC on the cluster that doesn’t currently have one. Ideally, I still want to manage both clusters from the primary PC in the co-lo facility. Is this possible? Or do I have to unregister the remote cluster from the current PC first then register it to the newly deployed PC then deal with managing each cluster from a different PC?I also read that I should be able to deploy the new PC directly from PE via the “Deploy New Prism Central”
