Unanswered questions

We have a cluster that is not being used currently, and would like to run VMware/VSAN on it for testing some things. Is this doable? I am not worried it not supported as it is very temporary and Nutanix will be put back on it. I know ESXi is supported but you have to use CVM still to present the disk I think. So has anyone tried using Nutanix hardware (NX-1175S-G9) to run ESXi and more importantly VSAN natively? I know there are lots of variables here, especially disks being recognized, etc.

Are we able to configure a recovery plan in Nutanix Leap when we have Production and DR clusters (10 Clusters each) managed across two separate PCVMs (both running version 7.5.0.5)?Currently, while creating the recovery plan, I can select individual VMs, but I do not see an option to select at the cluster level. Is this expected behavior when using two PCVMs, and how can we properly configure a recovery plan in this setup?Any guidance on achieving this design would be helpful.

I recently deployed Nutanix , but when I am opening web browser it is showing and I belive that it might be the certificate issue. I issued a commad to check the certificate in CVM and it is showing below and my system team already passed the date and time, what might be the other issue. Cluster is showing UP and healthy.  upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. retried and the latest reset reason: connection failure, transport failure reason: TLS error: 268435581:SSL routines:OPENSSL_internal:CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED

Hi Experts!We are planning a migration from an existing AHV cluster (AOS 6.x) to a new AHV cluster running AOS 7.5.1, and we need to migrate our Active Directory Domain Controllers.We are aware that the official Move documentation states that DC migration is "not recommended but can be performed with some limitations", and that AOS 6.7+ supports VM Generation ID to reduce USN rollback risks.We have a few questions :Has anyone successfully migrated Domain Controllers using Nutanix Move in an AHV-to-AHV scenario on AOS 6.7 or higher ?Did you experience any USN rollback, replication issues, or post-migration AD inconsistencies ?Any specific pre/post-migration checks you would recommend for this use case ?Constraint: We need to keep the same IP addresses for our DCs after migrationThanks in advance

What happened to the Four corners test in X-Ray? What is the equivalent new test?

Evening,I’ve created a cluster with four nodes using the Nutanix Community Edition. Does anyone have a quick cheat sheet on updating everything. This is my second go around, and the last time, everything updated, but Prism stopped responding even after I updated. Do I need to upgrade Prism First? what’s the difference between Prism that comes after the install and Prism Central?Any suggestions on steps to updating everything before I start creating Virtual Machines would be helpful.Thanks, James

In my environment, I am already using Prism Central, and I understand that Prism Central is required as part of the conversion process.However, I would like to clarify the potential impact if I do not convert the license to NCI Pro before the current AOS Pro license expires.Specifically:Will there be any service disruption or limitation on cluster operations? While I’ve found solid integrations for Nutanix Objects and Kubernetes environments, the path to extracting granular metrics from Prism Element (PE) and Prism Central (PC) seems less straightforward for standard infrastructure.I’ve been reviewing the classic community post “MONITORING Part 3/4 Metrics and Prometheus and Grafana”, but since it’s now 5 years old, I suspect APIs and available exporters have evolved significantly.I’d love to hear from the community: Is anyone currently running this setup in modern production environments? Are you relying on third-party exporters (like Cloudflare’s) or leveraging API v3/v4 directly? In your opinion, have the latest Prism Central native APIs made Prometheus redundant for infrastructure-level monitoring? Can default vswitch vs0 be renamed on a new AHV 7.5 cluster? The only VMs on the cluster are the controller VMs.

Hi,I’m looking to deploy the L4 load balancers for domain controller services LDAP(S), NTP, & DNS, you know they type of thing that gets addresses programmed into devices/applications.I can create a LB session for an IP and have it listen on multiple ports 53,123,636 but when I gets round to selecting the destination VM Nic's I can only specify a single port for the destination.  Is there any way to balance multiple services from a set of hosts with a single VIP, or will I need to create an LB session and separate VIP for each of the services?Also some of the documentation i read said that It’s possible to use VM Categories to select the destination VM’s, but I don’t seem to have that option, which version do I need to be running to get that?

I am installing the latest Nutanix CE from USB onto an HP DL380 G9 with 160GB Ram & 3 new 1TB SATA drives.CE Loads and runs incompletely.  instsvcdrv.service: Control Process exited, status=155.  Please point me to what the actual issue is. TIA.
