We have a 4 node VMware-Nutanix cluster it has the following limitationsvCenter server is running on the same cluster and is not managing any other cluster Prism Central VM is deployed on the same cluster Nutanix Files is deployed on the cluster Prism Central  2022.6.0.6  AOS  6.5.3.7  File Manager  4.4.0  VCenter Server  7.0.3 u3n / 21958406  ESXi  7.0.3 u3l 21424296   I am planning to upgrade Nutanix Files to version 5.0 first.

Hi all, Is creating a new image from for ex. a VMDK uploaded to an ADFS container via allow/whitelist still a thing as described in KB-2622? Uploading the image works without issues, but creating an AHV image via the AHV Image Service from the disk already located on the very same Prism Element cluster apparently not.All reference I found online was that source_url=nfs://127.0.0.1/<container>/foo.vmdk isn’t supposed to work anymore for security reasons (see KB-14160). In the KB it says to use a CVM IP instead. I however get the very same message on any of the CVM IPs as well:foo-disk-import: InvalidArgument: Address <Any CVM IP> is not supported as Remote HostAdding CVMs or AHVs IPs to the allowlist doesn’t make any difference - it just won’t work.Using acli image.create or Prism Element UI also doesn’t make a difference. Regards 

Hello guys,I found this topic https://next.nutanix.com/ahv-virtualization-27/ssh-public-key-is-removed-from-esxi-18675 from ​@mstauder  and have exactly the same issue.Since... like ever… 2022..I opened a FEAT-13832  request, but I don’t know how to check it.Nutanix need only to add a second and unmanaged authorized_keys file…Or add ssh-key define in the prism element to the ESXi … Don’t you all need this guys?

I have a host I need to re-assign to other purposes. This host is part of an AOS cluster, running ESXi as a hypervisor. So basically, I need to remove the host from the ESXi cluster, then also gracefully remove it from the AOS cluster, so I can re-use the hardware elsewhere. Ive been reading this page:https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Web-Console-Guide-Prism-v7_3:wc-removing-node-pc-c.htmland it’s still unclear to me. It sems I have to first remove the host from the ESXi cluster (I can look up how to do that), but the instructions on how to then gracefully remove the node from the AOS cluster aren’t clear (to me). I’ve opened a ticket with Support, but while I wait for them, does anyone have any experience doing this? Or a page with step-by-step screenshots, perhaps? I’ve had to remove an ESXi host from a cluster once (long, long ago), but have never done so in an AOS cluster.Thanks! 

I have 3 servers as nodes for Nutanix CE. On the 1st and 3rd node the installation was successful.But when try to install on 2nd node I get an error. All server the same Dell PowerEdge R640 and i has installation through iDRAC Virtual Media.Physical disk the same on all servers:Whan i has try to install first time on 1st server i has same error, but whan i convert disk to Non-RAID problem has resolved.But on 2nd node it does not resolve problem.Please help with this error.

Hi all Nutanix experts, we're scheduled to migrate our infrastructure from VMware to Nutanix in two weeks. We're going to set up two Nutanix clusters (Production and DR) with full replication.We use a virtual Windows Server 2022 as our current domain controller. We also have a backup domain controller (virtual server). According to some of the Nutanix documentation, migrating the domain controller using Move could cause issues. Has any of you had a similar situation? If I don't want to set up a domain controller on a physical server, what's the solution for this issue?

Hi my nkp clients are requesting me to change the nkp connection token to their cluster with kubectl from 24 hours to never changing, Were in a airgapped environment and they said it will help them greatly.I didn't find any documentation on how to do it.If you could let me know how it can be done or direct me to the relevant documents it will really help us.Thank you very much.In the documentation it talks about changing the settings upon creation but the cluster is production and running and I need to change on the existing one.

Hello,customer has 2 clusters in different datacenters and a single node “cluster” within PRISM central (also Witness instance) at 3rd location.If he is going to upgrade the single node (firmware) he must shut down all UVM, PRISM central too.How may he get the PRISM central vm to start automatically when cluster starts?kind regardsThomas

Hi Colleagues,I am trying to collect operating system information for all virtual machines through the Nutanix Prism Central v3 API.I’m using the following API endpoints: POST /api/nutanix/v3/vms/list to retrieve VM UUIDs GET /api/nutanix/v3/vms/{uuid} to check detailed metadata per VM However, in all cases, the OS information fields (e.g. guest_tools.guest_os_version, guest_info.operating_system, runtime_os, etc.) are returning null or “Unknown”, even for VMs that have Nutanix Guest Tools (NGT) installed and are visible in the Prism UI with proper OS details.Steps I’ve taken: Verified that NGT is installed and running on the VMs. Queried both /vms/list and /vms/{uuid} API endpoints. Tried multiple fields including: .status.resources.guest_tools.guest_os_version .status.resources.guest_info.operating_system .status.resources.agented_info.guest_os_name .spec.resources.guest_os_id All these fields return null via API, but Prism UI shows correct OS information.

HI EveryoneI have the NCP MCA exam scheduled for today at 1:30 PM. However, the exam center canceled it due to the holiday. I can’t take the exam via online proctoring or extend it beyond October 5. What should I do?

Entered and Exited Maintenance Mode. The system is a Dell R720 with E5 2667 V2 processors running ESXI 7.0U3o I am at a loss for why this system won’t run a basic linux VM. Any ideas would be appreciated.

My VMs are currently placed inside these VLANs.I am planning to migrate everything to a new NC2 cluster on Azure, but I need to keep the same VM IP addresses.I have a few questions regarding this scenario: Is it possible to maintain the same VM IPs when migrating to NC2 on Azure? Are there any prerequisites on the on-premises Nutanix cluster to make this possible? What if the on-prem VLAN is also used by other physical servers outside of Nutanix? How would these physical servers communicate with VMs in NC2 on Azure? How can native Azure components or other third-party networks connected to my Azure environment reach the servers in this stretched network? For example, if I have some VMs on-prem, some on NC2, and some on other physical on-prem servers. Is this configuration intended as a temporary transition, or can it be permanent? We attempted the following approaches to enable nested virtualization, but it still did not work.Approach 1:a. Created the VM and enabled cpu_passthrough=true before powering it on.Observation: We were able to log in to Windows.b. Enabled the Hyper-V feature inside the VM and restarted.Observation: The system failed to log in and entered Recovery mode.Approach 2:a. We try to activate our nvidia card in an ce 2.1, but we can not see the AHV option in the Download page.We I try to acces it directly with https://portal.nutanix.com/page/downloads?product=ahv there is always a popup asking for “Activation required”.As I only run the community edition I do not have any of the requested information (Serial Number or Service Tag or Software Registration ID).Is there still a way to get the drivers.

I am trying to list storage containers using prism element V2 API.I want to fetch only required attributes in the response. How can use filter_criteria, search_string and search_attribute_list effectively. Let’s say I want list containers having UUID’s (2 or more). i am not finding details on how to use these.
