Hi,Since upgrading to PC 7.6 / AOS 11.2 we’ve tipped over the edge on available CPU resources and are experiencing some performance issues (Spikes in CPU Wait, application failures) we’ve engaged with support who identified ADS/Solver being unable to move VM’s to reduce hotspots, because all hosts are hotspots, and we’re basically oversubscribed.  I won’t deny this, but we weren’t experiencing so many issues before the update. Support advice is to reduce vCPU allocation on vm’s that don’t need them. We’ve got a lot of VM’s reporting as over provisioned, the majority of these are windows VM’s with 2 vCPU’s our testing has shown that with only a single vCPU windows really doesn’t work well. So i have some questions:Has anyone else noticed an increase in consumed CPU resources following update to PC/AOS 7.6 Do others experience the same with windows server VM’s, or is it a feature of our environment that 2 vCPU’s is the minimum If you do experience the same, do you just live with a large

Hi,I've installed Nutanix Community Edition 2.1 (AOS 6.8.1) as a single-node lab and created the cluster successfully. When I log in to Prism with my .NEXT account, I get:"Your .NEXT account does not have the required Community Edition role. Please request the role from your Nutanix contact or on the .NEXT forum."Could you please add the Community Edition role to my account?.NEXT email: khanh.nguyen@nakivo.com.NEXT username: KhanhNguyenQAThank you!

Buenas Nutanixeros!

Hey guys,I'm trying to use Nutanix Move to migrate some VMs from Vmware to Nutanix, but Nutanix Move requires Virtual Disk Development Kit (VDDK) 7.0.3.1 and, as usual, Broadcom doesn't provide this VDDK to proceed the download. Does someone has this VDDK and can send me?Tks,Marcelo Ortiz

Hello everyone,I am currently facing an issue and need assistance. I am unable to locate and download VDDK 6.0.3, which is required for Nutanix Move to Upload and migrate VMs from vSphere ESXi 5.1.I have already checked the VMware (Broadcom) website, but the minimum version available for download is VDDK 6.7.If anyone has the VDDK 6.0.3 file saved or knows an alternative source for obtaining it, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share it with me.

Hi everyone,We are currently assessing our migration strategy to move workloads from VMware to Nutanix infrastructure. However, we recently noticed that public access to the VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit (VDDK) has been restricted/removed.Given this recent change, we have a few questions for the community regarding how it affects Nutanix Move and our upcoming migration plans: Impact on Existing Integrations: Does this restriction impact any already running or existing VMware integrations with Nutanix Move, or is it strictly limited to new deployments/re-installations? Obtaining VDDK Files for New Setups: If we want to deploy a new Nutanix Move setup today, how can we properly acquire the required VDDK files? Do we need to raise a support case or request direct assistance from Broadcom? Functionality After Upload: Once we manage to source and upload the correct VDDK file into Nutanix Move, will all migration features and functionalities (such as Changed Block Tracking / increm

Sorry for this noob question but in the instruction says VDDK library. When I select the tar file the upload fails. If I unzip the folder I am not sure what file to select. Any tips?

I am setting up Nutanix Move. I need to migrate from ESXi to AHV and am looking for the VDDK. The link in the manual returns a 404 error. Logging in with my Broadcom account doesn't change the result. Do you know where I can find it? https://developer.broadcom.com/sdks/vmware-virtual-disk-development-kit-vddk/latest

So I’m currently in the middle of a Nutanix Deployment and are in the process of setting up our Nutanix Move 6.2 application for our new Nutanix environment.  The goal is to start migration of VMs off our existing VMWare 8 environment.  I noticed that Nutanix Move requires VMware’s VDDK (Virtual Disk Development Kit) in order to safely snapshot, clone and restore VMs for third party developers.Originally I put a ticket in with Nutanix and as part of their KB about setting Nutanix Move up.  It mentioned going to the latest VDDK available on Broadcom’s page and downloading it.  Unfortunately that link no longer works:   So next step was to open a ticket with Broadcom’s support.  Broadcom’s response was the VDDK (Virtual Disk Development Kit) has moved to VMWare’s TAP portal (Technology Alliance Program).  You have to be enrolled with a support contract.  Which I am and just updated my profile to enroll in the TAP program. I later received an email as part of the onboarding process for TA

Hi everyone,I’m running Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) 2.17.1 and I’m trying to reduce the CPU/memory requests and limits of some platform applications after installing Kommander.I’m following this Nutanix documentation:https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Nutanix-Kubernetes-Platform-v2_17:top-configure-apps-after-install-kommander-t.htmlFirst, I generated the Kommander installation configuration:nkp install kommander --init > kommander.yamlI then modified the YAML according to the documentation. For example, I configured prometheus-adapter as follows:apiVersion: config.kommander.mesosphere.io/v1alpha1kind: Installation apps:  # ...   prometheus-adapter:    enabled: true    values: |      resources:        limits:          cpu: 1        requests:          cpu: 500m   # ...Then I ran:nkp install kommander \  --installer-config ./kommander_minimal.yaml \  --kubeconfig=${CLUSTER_NAME}.confHowever, the command hangs and does not complete. When I check the HelmRel

AWS is retiring RDS Custom for Oracle on March 31, 2027. If you're evaluating migration options, we've put together a blog on why NDB on NC2 in AWS is a strong alternative — covering the shared responsibility model shift, what NDB's Oracle automation layer brings to the table, and how application connectivity stays unchanged post-migration.Read it here: https://www.nutanix.com/blog/ndb-on-nc2-for-rds-custom-for-oracle-databases#Would love to hear from community members who are navigating this transition — drop your questions or experiences below.

wanted to share a real-world scenario I recently encountered regarding Prism Central account lockouts and see how the community handles similar setup challenges. The Issue:Our primary local administrator account on Prism Central kept getting locked out unexpectedly. After inspecting the logs, we traced the issue to an external automated log integration (like a SIEM/Splunk collector) executing API calls using stale credentials.Even after disabling the integration at the source and resetting the admin password, the lockout behavior occasionally persisted due to cached sessions or residual background API requests.

What actually happens?Traditional backups copy entire files or virtual disks, which takes time and slows down your system. Nutanix uses a Redirect-on-Write (RoW) architecture combined with instantaneous metadata pointers.1️⃣ 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 (𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵):- Instead of copying your data blocks, Nutanix copies the metadata map (the index or map that tells the system where your data blocks live on the physical disks).* The Process: The system takes a snapshot of this map, which takes milliseconds because metadata is incredibly small.* The Result: The original data blocks become read-only for that specific point in time.2️⃣ 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵-𝘰𝘯-𝘞𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘔𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘮 (𝘕𝘰 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥):- The moment after the recovery point is created, your Virtual Machine (VM) keeps running and writing new data.* Old Data: Stays exactly where it was, safely frozen as your recovery point.* New Data: Instead of overwriting old data, any new changes are written t
