Imaging G9 Nodes with ISO Files for AHV Cluster Setup

after Installing Nutanix SE always Error: Cannot connect to Prism Gateway

i have installed Nutanix SE on a old HPE DX380 Node without problems. I can ping the CVM and AHV Host IPs and i have also ssh connect but i cant connect via Browser with the CVM IP. no matter what command I run via ssh it always comes: Error: Cannot connect to Prism Gatewayi tried to configure proxy, name servers but always the same problemWhat it’s wrong?Thanks for every hint/help

How To enable nested virtualization on AHV with CE 2.1

We attempted the following approaches to enable nested virtualization, but it still did not work.Approach 1:a. Created the VM and enabled cpu_passthrough=true before powering it on.Observation: We were able to log in to Windows.b. Enabled the Hyper-V feature inside the VM and restarted.Observation: The system failed to log in and entered Recovery mode.Approach 2:a. Created the VM and enabled hardware_virtualization=true before powering it on.Observation: We were able to log in to Windows.b. Enabled the Hyper-V feature inside the VM and restarted.Observation: We could log in, but the nested virtualization feature was disabled.Please advise on how to enable nested virtualization in CE 2.1

When Will AHV and Citrix App Layering (ELM) Support Gen2 VMs with UEFI and TPM?

Hello Nutanix EUC Enthusiasts,I’m learning Enterprise Layer Management (ELM) to layer applications but have learned that ELM does not support app layering of Gen2 VMs with Nutanix AHV—only Hyper-V and VMware.Currently, Citrix App Layering requires Offload Compositing to the hypervisor to deploy Gen2 VMs. This feature is only supported on vSphere and Hyper-V—leaving AHV admins unable to leverage ELM app layering for Windows 11 deployments that require Secure Boot and TPM.This raises a few questions:Compatibility Roadmap•     Is there a timeline for Citrix ELM to support Offload Compositing on AHV, enabling Gen2 VM app layering deployment?Nutanix Professional Services offer of App Layering•     Nutanix offers App Layering as a Professional Service—but how does this work in practice for Windows 11 Gen2 VMs if Citrix ELM isn’t supported on AHV?•     Are custom workflows or alternate layering strategies or tools used to bypass the ELM limitation?•     Is there a workaround for layering in A

Create UEFI Secure Boot VM using PowerShell

I am using the New-NTNXVirtualMachine PowerShell cmdlet to create a VM on an AHV cluster.  Up until now, I haven’t included the “-BootConfig” option and it has defaulted to “BIOS”. Now I need to specify UEFI and Secure Boot for Boot Configuration.  AI gave me examples and information but it must be out-dated because the properties were not named correctly.  Or maybe my cmdlets are out-dated. It gave me this:$bootConfig = New-NutanixObject -Name BootConfig$bootConfig.uefi_boot = $true$bootConfig.secure_boot = $true$bootConfig.boot_device_order = @("kCdrom", "kDisk", "kNetwork")New-NTNXVirtualMachine -Name "MyUEFIVM" -MemoryMB 4096 -NumVCPUs 2 -BootConfig $bootConfig -Cluster "MyCluster"When I tried it, I found there were actually no underscores in the name.  But I did not find any reference to a property for “secureboot”.$bootconfig | get-member TypeName: Nutanix.Prism.DTO.Acropolis.BootConfigDTOName MemberType Definition---- ---------- ----------Equals

I am following this guide: https://www.jeroentielen.nl/installing-nutanix-community-edition-ce-on-vmware-esxi-vsphere/ I am getting this error message:  Operation failed: NoHostResources: No host is schedulable: 14There is no insight in the entire system to say why the host is not schedulable.I have allocated 100GB Memory, 16 cpu cores and 2.5TB of storage To CE 2.1.  All health checks are green.VM i’m trying to run is Linux based, 2GB memory 128GB storage without any networking.I’ve started and stopped the cluster. Entered and Exited Maintenance Mode. The system is a Dell R720 with E5 2667 V2 processors running ESXI 7.0U3o I am at a loss for why this system won’t run a basic linux VM. Any ideas would be appreciated.

DR using Protection policies, can initial seeding/replication be throttled?

I’m setting up my DR site, will be using asynchronous/near-sync replication with Protection Policies in Prism Central (NOT Protection Domain) I don’t want to completely drown my WAN link in replication traffic during the initial VM seeding. Is there any way of throttling or controlling the replication traffic?

Number of Objects Pending Replication always 3

I have replication configured from one Nutanix object bucket to another Nutanix object bucket and it is always stuck at 3. As data is added to the source bucket I can see it replicates, but the 3 objects never seem to clear. This leads to RTO and RPO warnings daily. Is there a resolution to this?

Automating VM memory overcommit and category enforcement in Self-Service

Hi Community,We are working on enhancing our automation flows in Nutanix Self-Service blueprints and would like some guidance on the best way to approach two things:Enable memory overcommit automatically for every VM deployed from a blueprint: Our goal is that VMs should always have this applied at deployment time without requiring manual adjustment later. Ensure category assignment is mandatory for deployed VMs: We would like to implement a check so that if a VM doesn’t have a category assigned during creation, the workflow requires a category before it can proceed. Is there a preferable script type or approach for implementing these checks and automations within Self-Service? Any suggestions on best practices - especially regarding script selection - would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
