I’ve read many wonderful articles and success stories last year when came across .Next conf and getting to know about Nutanix. I’m NCP-MCI certified this year and I’m really looking forward to be part of Nutanix to explore further as full-time. Please share path forward for career in Nutanix!

I recently upgraded my NCP-MCI certification from 5.15 to 5.20, and I’m studying my next NCM-MCI certification. Currently NCM-MCI training is only available on 5.15 version. I’m wondering if there will be a 5.20 version for NCM-MCI soon? Thanks.

I am provisioning a Windows clone VM using API, can you help how to inject the sysperp file in vm_customization_config?

It’s totally available in Prism UI. But I find it impossible with API:In REST API, using PUT /virtual_disks/ “disk_capacity_in_bytes” receives 200 but not size changes. In ncli, using vdisk edit name=<> max-capacity=<> runs, yet the same no changes. Since the VM disk of this Linux VM doesn’t belong to any volume group, not an option for acli the way I see it.And if I do it via VM commands, it’s only able to create new disk or clone disk, not expand which is what I want.I really need an API for this job. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi All,I’ve old hardware NX-3050 currently running AOS 5.10 + ESXi 6.7 U3I need to foundation this node to new version of AOS. But When I check into https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/compatibility-interoperability-matrixThere is no list for NX-3050 any more.   

I am trying to import Nutanix Collector (latest available version) excel to sizer. The excel contains a large number of “PoweredOff” virtual machines. I want to make the sizing based on performance figures only for “PoweredOn” virtual machines. If I choose “CPU: performance” I get a warning message:“Data being imported contains one or more VMs that were powered ON during the collection period and reported CPU utilization. We recommend you to size both Powered ON & Powered OFF VMs.” The warning it self doesn’t make much sense. Maybe it should read“Data being imported contains one or more VMs that were powered OFF during the collection period and did not report CPU utilization. We recommend you to size both Powered ON & Powered OFF VMs.” Additionally “Upload” button is grayed out and I cannot proceed with the sizing. IMHO the “Upload” button should not be disabled.

Hi,I have a confusion between the role played by foundation and phoenix, during a LCM firmware upgrade, moreover I am not finding a deep dive article explaining this end to end:1. Once the phoenix iso is created and mounted to the host along with the upgrade bundle, Can phoenix run independently and complete the upgrades or needs help from foundation for performing some tasks like host reboot ?2. During LCM upgrade, since the node undergoing upgrades, will have all VMs powered off including the CVM, will it take help from a remote CVM foundation to orchestrate the upgrades on this host ?3. Putting host in maintenance mode is taken care by LCM or foundation service?4. Can you please give a high level working of the phoenix mechanism, since the hypervisor installer itself is a separate iso, which needs to be mounted, just wondering how phoenix handles multiple iso, does it mount simultaneously with the upgrade iso?

I am aware that in snapshot entity details there is a column that tells you if the recovery status is “Recoverable”, but is this enough to be sure it will work if we use it? Also, what exactly happens if App Consistency is set as False?About recovery time, is it the same for every VM no matter the size of it? Or does it actually depend of how big/small the VM is? If the latter, is it possible to have an estimate recovery time?

We are moving from VMware vSphere 6.0 to Nutanix Cluster AHV (Nutanix is our Hypervisor). The question is previously we could select console in VMware and make a 2nd connection to the VM (Server or workstation) with out somebody previously logged i without logging the 1st user off.   Is the Nutanix Console different than the VMware Console?

I downloaded symantec messaging gateway (brightmail) ova file. I uploaded the vmdk file as an image on my prism. I created a virtual machine and attached the disk. but it is not booting. virtio diriver is not installed., i tried to install it and it is not installed. because brightmail root access is restricted. I never found a way to install it. I talked to symantech support, the result; they said only vmware, hyperv support. I tried many ways; ova, backup/restore.. but without success. I can't run brightmail on ahv. it doesn't boot. I seek help from those who have succeeded in this matter. thank you.

Is it viable to still write NCP-MCI 5.15 certification before the expiry date 11 Feb 2022 ?I have not previously written any NCP-MCI certification.

How to tell if an IP is Prism Central or Prism Element by prism api？

Could anyone know why I get this WARN after upgrading AHV using LCM:WARN: AHV version 20190916.360 is currently installed on host x.x.x.10, while minimum compatible AHV version is 20201105.2244.Node x.x.x.20 checked compatibility as shown below:AOS: 5.20.2.1Hypervisor: AHVHypervisor Version: AHV-20190916.360There are no compatible version!!!???What make me crazy the cluster still working!!! hey this Nutanix right.What should I do next?Should i leave it like that or try and run LCM again and install compatible version?thank you in advance

Is Prism supported on all/most current browsers? I have issues with Edge and to some extent IE11. Mostly on an AHV cluster that I am testing on before I migrate my producton to AHV. Typically it is with on the VM page and creating or otherwise managing VM's. Sometimes i have issues with the log in page rendering at all.

Customer is currently running OVM on Sparc hardware. Guest OS on OVM is Solaris and Oracle Database runs on  Solaris.Nuatnix AHV will support Solaris?there is a way to move to Nutanix AHV and what could be the best guest OS suitable – Oracle Linux or one of the other Oracle certified guest OS’s .

I was able to build a Nutanix Move server on an AHV and move VMs from Hyper-V onto the AHV.I wanted to shut down the Nutanix Move server since I won't be using it for a while, so I logged in from the console(I found out when I logged in that it was Alpine Linux.) and ran the "poweroff" command, but I got an error "Operation not permitted".How can I shut it down from the console?

We have 3 node HPE DX380 deploy nutanix recently.After 2 - 3 days, i saw the physical disk show bad disk suddenly and no flush light in physical disk LED light.  When i login iLO port, the storage is good and no error.  When i login PRISM, look the disk is Red and show “The drive has failed”.  When i unplug it and plug it again, and re-partition it, seems back normal, but i concern the new server have this error suddenly so want to create nutanix case, but when i create case with input HPE serial number, it is not allowed, so i would like to ask how to create Nutanix case for HPE DX380.  Many thanks.

Hello everybody,I was unsuccessful to boot from a SATA CDROM in an AHV VM on different Nutanix-cluster with the same AOS 5.15.4 LTS version.Allthough I explicitly selected to boot from the SATA CDROM, the VM says ‘Could not read from cdrom (Code xxx) and instantly jumps into 2048 game (what the heck).As soon as I switch to an IDE CDROM, the system boots properly.Is this a bug in AOS 5.15.4 LTS ?ThanksDidi7

I have successfully run collection (version 4.0) in Hyper-v and export ZIP. When i upload the ZIP to collector.nutanix.com, The VM Name becomes garbled, The original VM NAME was Traditional ChineseCan you help me?  Thank you! 

Firstly I am new to Nutanix and still have a lot (everything?) to learn on the subject. I have a single Nutanix cluster running AHV and a number of VMs in production, when the cluster was setup (by a contractor) a Prism Central trial was also setup. To be honest, with a single cluster I have not found any real need to Central so now the trial is up I was wanting to decommission it.The PC VM is also being reported as a ‘bully’ in the cluster so another reason to get rid. Obviously I could just switch it off, but I’m sure that there is more to it than that to safely and cleanly remove the PC instance. Considering my newbie status does anyone have any specific articles they know of, or even better some instructions I can follow to safely and cleanly remove PC from the environment please?

Hello Community,Recently i complete the cours of NCM-MCI 5.12 AAPM and when i try to schedule the exam from the PSIOnline Page i found only NCA and all NCP Related Exams.I already pass the NCP-MCI 5.20 and NCP-DS, but the NCM-MCI doesn”t shows in the PSIOnline.Thank you :)
