I downloaded symantec messaging gateway (brightmail) ova file. I uploaded the vmdk file as an image on my prism. I created a virtual machine and attached the disk. but it is not booting. virtio diriver is not installed., i tried to install it and it is not installed. because brightmail root access is restricted. I never found a way to install it. I talked to symantech support, the result; they said only vmware, hyperv support. I tried many ways; ova, backup/restore.. but without success. I can't run brightmail on ahv. it doesn't boot. I seek help from those who have succeeded in this matter. thank you.

Appliance vendors can be pretty restrictive to  what platforms customers are allowed to run their products on. Even if you manage to get a particular appliance to work on AHV, you probably won’t get support for it should issues occur, even if they are completely unrelated to the platform itself.

In our case, appliances by Extreme Networks run fine on AHV (because they include drivers for KVM), but there is only support for Hyper-V, KVM and ESX. Therefore we have to keep ESXi servers as an supported environment for Extreme Networks appliances.

Hello @fadibelli

Can you try again with below settings ?

Boot Configuration: Legacy
Disk type : Sata (upload vmdk and choice)

Worked for me.
