Hi,I followed instructions to migrate a Windows 2013 server from ESX to AHV successfully according using Nx MOVE to https://www.vmwaremine.com/2019/01/24/migrate-windows-2003-x86-to-nutanix-ahv/#sthash.8hpeCflP.T3i44mTW.dpbs, it works great by the way. Now… In the process SCSI disks are cloned to IDE and the Windows 2013 SCSI controller is not recognized.  In this scenario, Is it possible to reconvert those disks back to SCSI? I guess I need to get the driver first (Fedora?) and follow available procedure to reconvert, Has anyone done this? Thanks! 

Hello,We are moving VMs from an existing Nutanix cluster with VMWare to a new cluster with AHV using Nutanix Move 4.6 (last version). The problem is that for VMs with more than one network adapter in use IPs are not assigned most of the times to network adapters after the first one. This is happening for VMs running Windows 2016 but I have not checked if the same thing happens por Linux or other Windows versions but I bet it does. For this cases, Move configures those interfaces to get their IPs via DHCP. I read an old post about this behavior but applies to an older version of Nutanix Move (https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/kbs/details?targetId=kA07V000000LWejSAG). Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance 

Howdy,We have a VM that is licensed by hardware. We needed to do some after hours work on the network so we shut down the VMs and cluster. When it came back online the software unlicensed itself.Looking at the 4th bullet point has be wondering from this KB: How to set MAC address for VM NIC on AHV clusterNot finding much luck to my question but I was curious if the NIC MAC changes if it moved from one node to another when it came back online?Also, is there anyway to see if the system had a prior MAC NIC?Thanks,

Our current Nutanix infrastructure has been a bit neglected for a while, AOS, PC, NCC, etc have been kept up to date but not firmware\bios or hypervisor so I need to get these done.Current infrastructure is nothing massive, two clusters one 4 node one 3 running on NX-8035-G6 and NX-8035-G7, both are AOS 5.20.4.  We have one PC running at the latest version and its sitting on a separate Management vSphere cluster along with vCenter.  Hypervisor is currently ESXi 7.0 Update 2a 17867351 on all hosts, this is Standard Edition so NO DRS ☹  My plan is to upgrade the firmware and BIOS etc via the LCM on the smaller of the two clusters. I have freed up one host so there aren’t any VM’s on it apart from the CVM.  I take it I can just run the LCM to do the firmware updates on that host and let it do its thing without having to do anything else, it’ll shut down the CVM maintenance mode the host and restart it?Once that is complete I want to upgrade ESX on that host.  I have checked the compatibil

Hello, I recently tried to run an LCM upgrade of AHV Hypervisor el7.nutanix.202011005.30417 to version el7.nutanix.20220304.242 and ran into an issue where a failure occured during the upgrade and one of my clusters is now stuck on “Detaching node xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx from metadata ring” at a little bit of a loss as to where i can move forward from here. I am unable to launch the console for the CVM and cannot ping the CVM. I apologize for the formatting on this post. This is my first time posting and I am not too sure how to best format or attach screenshots.shown below.

Hello,I am conducting a test using NX-3050 equipmentI know it's an old Node-Model and I have previously installed it with AOS 5.20.2.1As you can see now, we are going to test the upgrade using LCM in AOS 5.10.11.1LCM was installed as shown using 2.5.0.2.32663 Dark-site​​​​​I uploaded the file 5.20.2.1 because I saw the opinion that if the AOS version for upgrade is EOS,it might not be displayed on the screenNo matter how long I wait for the LCM in the setting window, there is no screen, so should I reinstall it? I think I saw the opinion that the AOS version was modified because it was low, so is it impossible to update using the LCM DARK site? Thank you for reading the long article and I would really appreciate your opinion  

Hello All, I'm working with a customer on a new solution designthe customer has a VMware workload and we plan to put AHV,I want you to advise me on how I calculate the storage requirement, Let’s say the customer workload is about 170 TB how do i size the cluster storage Also, I have some questions related to storage sizesif I have 3 nodes clustereach node with 10 disks each disk 4 TB (numbers for examples only)that means total raw storage is 120 TBwe will go with RF2 which means 1 node is out of our usable capacity calculation So what is the usable capacity here after the 1 node for failure and the Raid used in the cluster creation, also what else should be conducted from the storage in storage planning?

Hey Guys,For taking a Professional level certification, is it mandatory to have associate level certification?

We’re running 2 clusters which are pretty much configured the same running ESxi 7.02 AOS 5.20.4 LTS both running on nutanix hardware.  One cluster is totally fine no issues but the other you cannot create a virtual disk greater than 2Tb! The issue only came to light when we had to move a VM off to another non-nutanix host for a few days then when we went to vmotion it back it errored complaining about the disk being greater than 2Tb, it is its nearly 6Tb as its a fortinet analyzer. I’m pretty sure when the VM was sat on the nutanix cluster its disk was greater than 2Tb and it was thin provisioned with a capacity of 7Tb when it was created!  So you can’t move anything to any of the datastores that are greater than 2Tb and you also can’t create a new disk greater than 2TB.  Also if you take a look at the datastores details it says maximum VM disk size 2TB, on the other clusters datastore it says 62Tb. It's getting to be a bit of a pain as the fortinet analyzer is sitting on a box we want

When running foundation from the same network as the CVM/AHV host should be in, I’m getting this error. Phoenix Failed to load squashfs.img. I can’t ping the gateway, and it looks like during the bring up it’s unable to create bond0 with the NIC, which is 534FLR-SFP+. It’s like the link just doesn’t come up when booting into the rescue image.I’ve tried:Disabling the 4 port onboard NIC Pinging itself from ILO remote console (it works) Pinging the gateway and Foundation VM IP from ILO remote console (it fails) Installing ESXi manually on the server to confirm tagging/networking is set up properly, and it is Changing the IP of the foundation VM to another networkReally stuck hard. Any advice nutants? It’s like the rescue image doesn’tError MessageWaiting for eth0’s link to come up

Hello Nutanix community, i have a question about compatibility between Cisco ESA C100V and Nutanix AHV?  

CVM On LACP networks, Physical switches use MLAG technology，CVM bandwidth performance cannot be improved, and the maximum can only be 10Gb. 

Wondering if it is possible to transfer a Nutanix cert to an alternate account? Since we cannot register Nutanix accounts with personal email addresses (Gmail, Hotmail etc) my Nutanix cert is linked to my Nutanix account with my current employer who I am finishing my employment with today. Since I’ll no longer have access to that email after today, how can I continue to access my Nuatnix account / my Nutanix certification?I do happen to have another Nuatnix account ready to use, but cannot see a solution. I am based outside of the US without the ability to call US phone numbers. I called the Nutanix support number available in my country but it went through to “technical support” who informed me they can only provide technical support and cannot transfer me to Customer Support - instead giving me a US phone number to call which I cannot use.. Given the time sensitivity I doubt I’ll get a solution in time but figured it’s worth asking the question here just in case.

Hello. I have a question about upgrading AOS and AHV.I understand that upgrading AOS and AHV requires restarting nodes one by one, so I need to calculate memory, CPU, storage, etc. and free up enough space.There are customers who are currently using more than 90% of cluster memory.cpu, there's plenty of storage.We recommended turning off underutilized VMs to free up memory capacity, but they said it was impossible.It also says that disabling virtual machine high availability reduces memory utilization to less than 60%.However, it is recommended that you disable virtual machine high availability because it is a feature for recovery in the event of a host failure.If you turn off this feature during an upgrade and an unexpected failure occurs during the process, it can be a problem, right?In conclusion, I would appreciate it if you could tell me the correlation between upgrade and virtual machine high availability.  

I have a 8 nodes nutanix with vSphere 7 deployed. I’ve created 2 new storage container with compression enabled and map to the nodes. I test to copy the file that i uploaded to the default container to the new storage container presented as NFS datastore...it was very slow. 5GB took 2hrs. Then i tried storage vmotion of a VM reside on the new datastore to another new datastore. A 10GB VM took 20 minutes. If storage vmotion from the default container to new datastore, it fails. 

How to Decrease AHV, AOS upgrade times. As per my experience, each component is taking more than 45 minutes to upgrade its own.

I want to migrate Prism Central VM AHV cluster to ESXi on Nutanix cluster, please suggest the easiest way to migrate with no impact.
