I just created a new cluster but there is no default virtual switch created (vs0).Is this something expected ? Ventura

For our development work, we are using /v3/hosts/list endpoint. As per the specs, we want to use length and offset for pagination to fetch large number of hosts. We tried using it as follows:curl --location --request POST 'https://<host>:9440/api/nutanix/v3/hosts/list' \--header 'accept: application/json' \--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \--header 'Authorization: Basic abc' \--data-raw '{ "kind": "host", "length": 1, "offset": 9}'However, length and offset params doesn’t seem to be working. It returns all the hosts (2 in our case) irrespective of the params passed.  Also, we used the same params in /v3/vms/list and they are working as expected. So, wanted to know if this is expected or is this an open issue? Is there a way to get all the hosts through Prism Central (v3) APIs?

Then I get 1.VM with “6 vCPUs, 26 GB of memory, and 500 GiB of storage.”I deploy it. And after there is an option to “Scale out PC”. I can scale out to 3-VM, so I get 3x “6 vCPUs, 26 GB of memory, and 500 GiB of storage.” But my question is, can I scale out from Small to Large as well ?And also from Small to X-Large..?Or I need drop my PC to achieve that..? I am new to nutanix. And I would like to know, which is the best approach for later on, when there is a need to expand.Also, as I have read, the Flow Virtual Networking requires “Advanced Networking”, which needs X-Large deployments.We might need that option later on. So I want to know, should I need to create X-Large deployment now, or can I change it later on. Thanks. RegardsRaul

I have a used NX-3060-G5, with 4 nodesI am trying to install the new CE 2.0 on itEach node is configured with the e5-2650v4 x24x32 sticks of ramBMC version 3.94BIOS Version G4G5t8.0They all have the same 64gb statadoma 512GB SSD and a 1TB HDDI had used nodes a and b as test nodes orginally, then i tried to reinstall the new CE 2.0 on them and i keep getting failures at 2402/2430 hypervisor installation in progress with the read out to please take a look at the installer_vm_*.log inside foundation logs to debug hypervisor installation, then it restarts the install process and repeats. 2 of the nodes this installed on just fine, but they were not a reinstall of CE, they had vmware running on them previously.I have tried installing the latest supermicro bios and get the same issue,  i have screenshots of the logs that i could find.  Not sure if i can post them on here. Just seeing if anyone may be able to assist or point me in the right direction to find out why this keeps failing when al

We are running a Nutanix environment with 3 CVM nodes (A,B,C) on 3 separate ESXI hosts (7.0 Update 3) with 3 IPMI configurations using vCLS. Originally, Node A failed during an FSM upgrade and was unable to talk correctly to our Houston Datastore (MCQ-HOU). In doing so, there was no snapshot and we were unable to roll it back. We were currently in the midst of attempting to create a new node on the same ESXI host (.204) through Nutanix Prism but when searching for any existing or accessible hosts it does not find any of them and we are unable to create a new one. We attempted to shut down the cluster, unmount the Datastore on the broken node and re-mount it once we were able to clone a functioning node and change the configuration. Hello everyone,I have to install the first Nutanix cluster from a customer but I can't figure out how to setup the network.All customer switches (Aruba 2930, 2920) have the native vLAN (vLan1) dedicated to workstations and servers, while the management network is vLan ID 10 where the ESX, storage controllers, backup NAS and the Veeam server backing up the current infrastructure.This is the situation of all my customers, vLAN10 is completely isolated and unreachable from the native vLAN1, this was done to prevent any ransomware from affecting the backups as well.Now, Nutanix recommends configuring the CVM and hypervisor host VLAN as the native, or untagged, VLAN on the connected switch ports.I'm sure it would be nice to have all of the management in the native, adding a node would be much easier and I think the simpler things are kept the better.Furthermore, vLAN10 is propagated on many remote racks because obviously the backup NAS do not reside in the same racks as the servers, how can

I am trying to automate the process of Files failover/failback using REST API. I did test through Prism  Central GUI.  Looked into PC REST API explorer, but I am not finding a URL to make an API call. I am at file 4.2 version. Any ideas ?

Hello, I understand that if the node fails, the ha function is activated and attempts to recover. If one node fails in a Data Resilience Status Critical state due to a lack of storage space, will the cluster collapse? What happens.

Morning all!I have a 5 node cluster (5.20/ESXi7.0U3).  its about 4-5 years old.  Just got approval to upgrade and ordered a new 5 node cluster.Question:  Is it best to expand current cluster and remove a node at a time, or set up net new and migrate?Looking for suggestions and experience.Thanks in advance!TJ

HiAs Microsoft advise / Windows Server 2022 isn’t Legacy BIOS compatible anymore, i have to set up a brand new template using UEFI.However, if i tick “EFI” and Secure Boot from VM configuration or not, I can’t boot on my ISO at all. It still go to EFI Shell or in the UEFI Menu.I also tried to update VirtIO drivers directly into my Windows image (on install.wim and boot.wim on all indexes) but i can’t go so far in the installation part. Does anyone was able to use EFI settings with Windows Server 2022 ? If yes, what was your settings  ? 

Hello  Data replication, which was well done until yesterday, has stopped and is not progressing. Only one of the five scheduled schedules will be suspended. Note that the three entities that correspond to the schedule are excluded from the schedule for a while. After increasing the cpu and memory, I included it again. Is there any part or command I need to check? This is a dark site, so remote assistance is not available. Help me.

Hello,I would like to change the password expiration for a local user I have created in the prism element.I’ve tried to change it via the command:nutanix@cvm$ sudo chage -M <MAX-DAYS> admin I’ve managed to do that to the admin user, but when I change “admin” with my local user, It says that the user does not exist in etc/passwd. Is their any way of changing the password expiration for a local user that it is not “admin”.(The user is a cluster admin).

There are still many places where the old version is being used.Even if you try to install it with the previous version (AOS 5.10 or lower version) of the foundation on the G6 device to test the upgrade, it cannot be installed.Is it because all the firmware is up to date? It was the version that was originally installed. AOS 5.10 versions are not installed now?In foundation the log is "Device 2 :The Length of Name is not correct" The phrase continues to print. Please reply from those with experience.

My 3 node cluster consiting of 1065-G5 nodes is coming EOL this year.  I will be replacing the hardware with a NX-3360N-G8 cluster.  What is the recommended workflow for replacing the hardware?  One thing to note is the current cluster is licensed with Prism Pro and the new one will be licensed with Starter as I’m not using all the features in Prism Pro.Is the replacement as easy as expanding the cluster one node at a time, migrating the workloads and then removing the old cluster?  Will there be any hiccups with difference in licensing?

Hey guysI am reinstalling three Lenovo HX5521 nodes and I got stuck on the below errorFoundation IP not set. Try running the “set_foundation_ip_address” script on the desktopI'm running the foundation vm on the same subnet of the IPMI interfaces connected directly to an unmanaged switch, without VLANs or any other configuration. connectivity is perfect. I already reviewed all the settings and tried to reimage foundation using ESXi and AHV. Both result in the same error.Im running;Foundation_VM-5.2.2 AOS euphrates-5.20.3 LTS VMware-ESXi-7.0.1 or AHV-20201105.2244I've been trying to solve this problem for three days now, but so far I haven't found any clues. I am able to create a Move plan using the API and Ansible for migrating a VM from vSphere to Nutanix. However, I am unable to specify the guest credentials for the guest operations (like removing VMware Tools from the replicated vm during the migration) in the actual rest call (see code below) as is possible using the GUI. I cannot find any way in the API documentation on how to get the credentials into the request.
