Solved

Hello,i have faced an issue during the NCA test because there is a difference between my name on PSI and my Government ID. and they sent me now to reschedule the test, but i see the name still the same one and i will face the same issue.  I have already sent an request to PSI via online form but no response. Appreciated if you could let me know how to change my full name in the system so that could match my name in government-issued ID for exam registration. Thanks very much.

Hi,I have deployed a single node Nutanix CE, the deployment is done, and I am able to reach the AHV IP address but the CVM IP address is unreachable. However the CVM is reachable from the AHV when ssh. Unable to resolve the issue.

「Prism Element is not compatible to enable Microservice Infrastructure: Please ensure that Cluster Virtual IP and Data Services IP are set on the Prism Element '(Prism Central名)'」AHVのバージョンは20220304.423、PrismCentralはPrism Central 1-click deploy from Prism Element( Version: pc.2023.3 )を使用しています。

Hello all. I have a three node nutanix cluster. Recently I noticed that the VMs were down. I tried to browse to PE but I was getting connection error. I user IMPI to see what was going on and noticed that the 3rd node was down. Boot error. I replaced the SATA DOM and reimaged. I thought I could fail and be OK with only two nodes. I have access to the two AHV and CVMs but anytime I try to see if the cvm is in maintenance mode or try to come out, I get Error:Cannot connect to Prism Gateway. This error also happens when i run cluster status. I’m not sure what to do from here. This cluster isn’t under support anymore since we moved to the cloud. Just have some old VMs that someone asked for some data.  Thanks

Dear Communitiy Members,Greetings of the day!I am a newbie to Nutanix certification platform and would like to validate my skills on Nutanix. However, When I proceed for taking exam via PSI portal it is asking me for an Invitation code. Please help me with below; Is it mandatory to take an official course before taking an exam? If Not, Then kindly help with Invitation code. (Attaching screenshot below)

Hello Nutanix Community,I want to ask if it's possible to expand a NUTANIX cluster of four nodes (10 GBPS nic speed each nodes) with two new servers that they run at higher nic speed ( 25 GBPS nic speed).  Could this cause some kind of latency between the CVM-to-CVM communication? Regards.

Dear All,Can I add an NCI Cloud License by Prism Element?I have a pro license which will expire soon and I purchased a starter license can I apply it smoothly?

Hello Friends, Is there any one can successfully import a VMware UAG to AHV? I tried importing VCenter than export it to the AHV but did not work as expected.

Hi I’ve created certificates on a local CA for my two prism servers and prism-central. However it looks like the certificate update only applies to Prism Central. I’m using cvm-london and cvm-midlands as alternate names on the cert but the prism pushes out its own certificate. Is this expected?

I’m looking for a way to a report on all of our file shares in Nutanix Files that shows spaced used.Similarly, it would be nice to see a report on users home drives (one level below the file share directory) based on space consumed.

Hello every one Can you supporting me in my Case we have now 3 nodes NX and we need add new node NX-8135N.When I foundation vm the installation failed and I get this log error

Hi,I consider enabling dedup in his VDI environment with persistent desktops but i would like to understand how that works. Desktops are running on ESX and are split on multiple datastores. At what level does the dedup apply or operates? For one specific datastore for all of them? what is the best/easiest way to monitor the storage gain? Thanks for your help

Dear community,We are facing a weird issue regarding vTPM and already opened a support case without much luck. Our cluster is fully updated and we are even using PC 2023.x build. If we create a new Windows 11 22H2 virtual machine, the “Get-TPM” cmdlet works fine and BitLocker can be enabled. If we do the same but with Windows 10 22H2, the cmdlet fails, which means we can’t use the additional security features like BitLocker or even upgrade to Windows 11.Have you ever seen something similar? Many thanks!Bruno Martins

Hello all!I have an exam (NCP-MCI 6.5) in 7 hours from now. Was just checking everything and I for my big surprise I cannot access Nutanix University today (!?).It was working during the last two weeks without any issues and just today I cannot access, seems that SSO process is failing from Nutanix side. Tested with two different computers and using different web browsers.Anyone else with problems to access Nutanix University? PSI support is really useless, they say they cannot do anything until the time of the exam (what!??). Best,

Hi Team, would like to check how to book NCP-MCI exam?

EXT4 file system errors are detected: Filesystem errors found on CVM x.x.x.x. on the below device(s):  Device: md2, Partition: home, Max Mount Count: -1Will the restart be a helpful step.

I am planning to make Nutanix PoC with the Community Edition. And if successful use Nutanix. The goal is to make a tree or four node cluster with local storage. And how would it be best to prepare the tree nodes. The have buildin Hardware Raid controller. (Cisco UCS servers). I could put in up to 8 disks. They can be in same size or in deferent sizes. I would probably be some 1-2 TB SSD disks. I can make one or more Raid disks. (Raid 1, 5, 10). Would would make sense in a performance and redundancy perspective.I have read the CE Getting started guide. Here there are mentioned:Storage Devices (Max 4 HDD/SSD) Cold Tier (500 GB or greater, maximum 18 TB (3x6 TB HDDs) Storage Devices, Hot Tier Flash (Single 200 GB SSD or Greater. Hypervisor Boot Device (32 GB pr. Node)Witch storage needs to be fast? And should I have my hardware raid make the disks ?.Would it make sense to build a raid 10 on eight equal sized disks and make logical drives fitting each of the above disks types?

Hello,I'm working on building a Debian 12 image for Nutanix, but I found it difficult to start the automatic Debian installation process (DebianInstaller). Unlike other virtualizers that I have worked with so far, Nutanix does not have the "boot_command" parameter to start the self-installation process. Is there any documentation or tutorial on how to proceed in this case? Thanks for any guidance.

Dears: Currently, we have 3 node cluster in PRD site. Now we plan to build the DR ability to build a multiple node cluster in DR site. We have one PC instance in PRD site now. My question is: In order to use protection policy to replicate PRD data to DR site(We plan to use nearSync), do we need to create a new PC instance in DR site?It seems one PC could manage multiple PEs, so one PC instance is enough. But what’s the function for DR site PC? Is it a mechanism to sync data from PRD PC to DR PC?

Hi,I have a 3 node nutanix cluster, when initial deployment with foundation portable due to low space in my disk, the deployment failed. When trying to redeploy we are unable to deploy. We are unable to reset the node to its factory form. Is there any way to initiate a deployment?

Hello. I'm reaching out with some questions regarding technical support.I would like to inquire about the support levels L1, L2, and L3, and what level of support is required. Additionally, could you please provide information on the requirements or qualifications needed to provide support at these levels?

Hi,  I am still new to nutanix and i have a few question on the foundationI have 2 Dell XC740xd 12 servers and install with server 2019 Datacenter core as hypervisor. Both Server has a SVM in it. is SVM the same CVM? Isn’t CVM the Prism Central? If not Prism Central means i had to download, import and setup the VM for Prism central into the nodes? does each SVM has to be from different domain? Can i join both server SVM to the Same domain even though they can’t be setup as cluster in nutanix?  Can i use failover cluster to join both nodes as cluster and reflect it on Nutanix Prism Element or Central? On Foundation number 2 Nodes the Nodes A, B, C, D, am i able to join it as cluster if i setup both node as A node?

Hi All,We are using a backup tool on some Nutanix clusters and after some testing, it turns out backup does not work very well. So I consider alternatives and explore the full backup capacities with the protection domains. Is it possible to do granular backup (restore file), can we run pre/post scripts? Also Can we backup non-Nutanix clusters (VMware) with PD?Thanks in advance for your answersRegards,

Hello Community,I want to configure replication and failover plans between 2 separate Nutanix clusters, both running ESXi hypervisor.I do have Vmware SRM licenses and I am aware of these 2 possibilities :1. Replicate VMs using Nutanix Protection Domains (either with Async DR or with Metro Availability) and configure Failover scenarios with SRM via Nutanix SRA2. Replicate VMs using VMware vSphere Replication Appliance and configure Failover scenario with SRMMy question is which of the possibility would you recommend ? which is better in terms of performance and flexibility ?Thanks.
