If I have two AHV clusters distributed across a primary site and a disaster recovery (DR) site, and I configure Metro Availability between them, is it possible to deploy the Witness VM at the DR site?

I have 2 AHV clusters (3 nodes), and if I want to configure synchronous replication between them, I have two options: Sync Replication and Metro Availability. I would like to understand the key differences between these two approaches and the specific features. Note that I will not use a Witness VM.

おつかれさまです。Nutanixのネットワーク設計に関して確認させてください。Nutanix 1ノードに10G Dual-Port NICを２枚搭載する予定です。合計4つの10Gポートを２ポートずつBondingし、管理系、サービス系で通信を分けようと思うのですがその際にNICを跨いでBondingすることは可能でしょうか？ 仮想スイッチを２つ用意して各スイッチのアップリンクポートとして各NICから1ポートずつ選びBonding設定すれば可能だと思っているのですが、試せる環境がないため確認した次第です。お手数ですがご回答いただけますと幸いです。よろしくお願いいたします。

Issue: I can’t get UEFI to work with VMs at all.CE version of AHV  on Dell 4 year old hardware - AHV and CVM operational and appear fine.VMs appear to be OK as long as it’s using legacy bios. I can’t get UEFI to boot, black screen of X/f2.I was going to attempt a workaround: Install using legacy and convert to UEFI but I can’t get into the VM bios?  Tried F2, DEL, F12 … every F out there and it goes straight to windows.Does anyone have a recommendation? I can take screenshots if that helps

Hi Friends, I have 3 x Dell XC blocks which are almost 7-8 years and we have plans to migrate them to XC 660 x 3 blocks.Hypervisors running on VMware. Nutanix starter license.May I know what are the procedures on migration? Heard from reddit folks that is to update existing cluster to latest Nutanix software. Then add the new blocks into the existing cluster. Then let it replication and once ok, slowly remove the older blocks. Then move the VMs to start on the new hypervisors? Thanks

Hi. I’ve just deployed a new CE instance and configured it to the point where I am accessing the CVM via HTTPS:9440 from a browser. Once I put in the admin username and password, I am of course asked for my NEXT Credentials, the credentials I used a few minutes ago to log in here. Also the credentials I have used for three other CE instances a few weeks ago.As soon as I submit these, I get “Cannot validate the credentials provided” in red and can go no further. Obviously I’ve checked for typos a number of times and am confident the credentials are correct. The only clue I have is from a firewall log that shows the very second I am submitting the credentials, the CVM is trying to access 23.214.153.160 (an Akamai owned IP I believe) and getting a deny (as it should). My question is what is this endpoint, why is CE trying to access it and why isn’t it documented as a requirement to run CE? こんにちは。既存のAHVクラスターに新しいノードを追加後、古いノードの取り外しを計画しています。いくつか疑問があり質問させていただきます。公式ドキュメントなどありましたらご紹介いただけますと幸いです。 ・クラスター拡張後に新しいノードへ仮想マシンを移動するには、手動でマイグレーションが必要との認識で合っていますでしょうか。クラスターへ追加したら、いきなり仮想マシンが移動してしまう？・新しいノードへ仮想マシンをマイグレーションする際に、物理ホストのCPU世代などが異なりますが仮想マシンの停止は不要でしょうか。（ESXiのEVCのようなものが効いている？）・仮想マシン内のNGTやドライバーの更新は事前に必要でしょうか？既設の環境をAHV-20230302.102001までバージョンアップし、PrismCentralも新しいバージョンにしてNCIライセンスへの変換作業まで完了しています。

Hi teams, i have a problem with my nutanix ce, i got the alert about “The host (x.x.x.x) is not synchronizing with any NTP server” but after i check using ssh in the cvm, and running ntpq command to check my ntp, i got the error “-bash: ntpq: command not found” anyone have idea to solve our issue?

We have a new cluster running AOS6.10 AHV which is nearly ready to go into production it will be replacing two older clusters running ESX.  Currently it has no encryption enabled. What is the best option, pros\cons of full cluster encryption compared to Entity Encryption (VM) using storage policies?  Its a 4 node cluster and will be hosting around 170 VM’s.

Hi I using playbook to categorize vm’s according to cluster,os,sla and such. It’s working, but I want to see if it’s possible to assign a category based on two or more conditions. I’m only able to use the ‘branch’ to evaluate one condition. Is it possible to do AND when evaluating if a vm is assigned to a category?

皆さんお疲れ様です。NutanixCEインストール際にエラーが発生しましたので、ご相談させていただきたいです。現在、IDRACのコンソールでNutanixCE2.1のisoファイルをマウントし、インストール作業を行っております。最初はインストールしたのですが、SSH接続でCVMのログイン時にパスワードを間違え、ロックがかかってしまったため、再インストールを行いました。問題は再インストール作業で発生しました。インストール後にAHVではなく、phoenixのCUIになる原因が発生しました。そして、リブートをすると下記の画像のように表示されます。。解決策をご存じの方いらっしゃいますでしょうか。＃ハードディスクやメモリの性能は推奨条件を満たしています。 ＜最初に上手くいった際の画像＞ 再インストール直後の画像リブートした際の画像 

Deploying NDB solely on a VMware infrastructure without an accompanying Nutanix cluster is not supported?

 After deploying 6 Lenovo ThinkAgile HX650 V3 CE nodes in a single cluster, Nutanix Prism Element shows that it has no active licenses. In the Nutanix portal website with the end user credentials, it can be seen that it has the starter and pro licenses. When uploading the cluster summary file generated by Nutanix Prism Element, it shows the error "No compatible products found for the uploaded cluster summary file". The cluster does not have access to DNS or an NTP server. I have also tried entering the cluster information as Dark Site but it continues to show the same error. I would appreciate it if you could tell me how I can overcome the error and upload the license. Thank you.

This has been an effort in patience. I have 4 HPE Gen10 DL360s, all with the exact same hardware config, same firmware, same everything yet every one of them has presented me with a different challenge when installing CE. This particular server will not get past INFO Removing the marker file.   My research has not turned up anything yet. I’m installing from phoenix.x86_64-fnd_5.6.1_patch-aos_6.8.1_ga.iso Thanks

こんにちは。現在 AOS 6.5.6.5 を使用している環境をAOS 6.10にアップグレードしたいと思い、LCMでインベントリを実行しました。インベントリ実施後にアップグレード可能なバージョンを確認したところ、AOS 6.5.6.6しか表示されずAOS 6.10が表示されませんでした。 Upgrade Pathを確認したところ、AOS 6.10へのアップグレードはサポートされているのですが「One click download enabled」のアイコンは表示されていませんでした。Download Imageのリンクは表示されています。One click download enabledでアップグレードできそうな中間バージョンも存在しないようでした。 LCMで対応できない時のアップグレードの方法を教えて頂けませんでしょうか。 

Hi,I have 2 x 3 node clusters managed by a single Prism Central,  I have recently tried to upgrade the PC and it does not like the fact it is unnamed it has only a virtual IP - also with no entry in DNS.  So the terminology is confusing me a bit, to add a name to PC it requires the cluster name - is this a PC Cluster name, different to the 3 node cluster names?  or something else?  If I add an FQDN now will it break my existing clusters? ThanksEric
