I have to replace a 3 nodes G5 Nutanix cluster running with vSphere 7 Essentials Plus Edition (limited by design at 3 nodes only) by 3 new nodes.My first idea was to expand existing cluster with new nodes then removed old nodes one by one.But like the vSphere Essential Plus edition is limited to 3 ESXi hosts only i can not add prepared new nodes to my vCenter.🙄 What is the best method in my case to migrate to the new 3 nodes ? Thanks for your advises.Nicolas

HeyIn Calm (Script that I have in old lab, AOS v6.5) My script (part in blueprint) use REST API and ip is used as localhost: Now, In self-Service not accepted localhost (security reasoning).In Self-Service Administration and Operations Guide I see some script that use @@{pc_ip}@@ but this is not real variable.Is there any alternative to get the Prism Central IP and use it in my script? since I use the same script in many PC, It not good practice to hard coded the IP..alternatively: is there a way to get the cluster list (instead use API)? Thanks

 phoenix-ce2.0-fraser-6.5.2-stable-fnd-5.3.4-x86_64.isoを用いて物理環境４ノードに対してインストールをし、特にエラーメッセージ等は無くAHVとCVMが起動した事を確認しました。各CVMから下記を確認しました。１：$genesis status　を実行し、foundationとgenesisのサービスが起動している２：各CVMへ疎通確認し、疎通できることCVM1台目から下記コマンドを実行しました。$cluster -s x.x.x.a,x.x.x.b,x.x.x.c,x.x.x.d create終わらないメッセージ（CVM IPは伏せています）5/16（金）から実行して未だに上記メッセージが出力され続けています。どうすればクラスター作成が完了しますでしょうか？（またはエラー等で中断されますでしょうか？）下記対応した点・タグVLANの環境で構築しているため、ISOインストール後下記コマンドをAHV上で実施　ovs-vsctl set port br0 tag=****・タグVLANの環境で構築しているため、ISOインストール後下記コマンドをCVM上で実施　change_cvm_vlan ****・時刻同期がずれていたため、IPMI側でNTP時刻同期を行いISOインストール後　各CVM間で時刻がずれて居ない事を確認​​​何か良い情報があれば幸いです。

On all my latest sizing configs I seem to be unable to create a proposal.I get the following error: e.response.headers.get(...) is null Any idea where to look?

We are new to Nutanix coming over from vSphere and are experiencing the same issues that is discussed but not resolved on this thread:https://next.nutanix.com/ahv-virtualization-27/packer-press-any-key-to-boot-from-cd-dvd-issue-43213We are using Packer to build a Window 2022 image.  We have customised the ISO to remove the "Press any key to boot..." prompt.  However, we are now in a situation where Packer/AHV doesn't allow us to specify a boot order so the CD is constantly booting, installing and rebooting.We can continue the Packer build if we manually dismount the CD, however, we want to be in a position where this is a hands off build and orchestrated by a pipeline like our vSphere builds are.Has anyone managed to get around this?  

I have several asynchronous protection policies configured between two Nutanix clusters each with their respective Prism Central, one primary and one DR. I am going to perform the upgrade of the clusters sequentially on different days and I don't see any reference in the documentation as to whether it is necessary for replication during the upgrade due to version difference or possible outages. I understand that it is not necessary, but I would like to know if there is any good practice as I don't see anything in the documentation. Thanks

We recently acquired four new Lenovo HX630 V3 CN servers to deploy the latest Nutanix AHV and AOS. Our plan is to set these up on four AHVs and the latest Prism Central. According to the compatibility matrix, this configuration should be supported.I downloaded the latest AHV (AHV-DVD-x86_64-10.0.1-219) from the Nutanix portal and created a bootable USB. However, I encountered an error when attempting to boot into the Nutanix installation process.I understand that I need to use Foundation, but my servers are new and don’t have DiscoveryOS or something similar that would allow me to discover them with Foundation tools. Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue?

Currently I building the following versions: AHV ver,10.0.1  AOS ver,7.0.1DNS is configured on the CVM but it seems that the DNS settings are not synced on the AHV.I confirmed that the DNS settings were entered from Prism Element as well.Re-entering the DNS values ​​did not fix the issue.If anyone knows the solution, please tell me 

Hi Nutanix-Community, trying to create a Nutanix CE cluster with 4 nodes out of our old hardware. This are the specs of the nodes:2 x Node:   - CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6154 CPU @ 3.00GHz  - Memory: 1.0Ti  - Storage: 6x 3.5 TiB  - Network: 2x Mellanox Technologies MT27710 Family [ConnectX-4 Lx]2x Node:  - CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6342 CPU @ 2.80GHz  - Memory: 1.0Ti  - Storage: 6x 3.5 TiB  - Network: 2x Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller XXV710 for 25GbE SFP28I used following ISO image to install the nodes:  - ISO used for install: phoenix.x86_64-fnd_5.6.1_patch-aos_6.8.1_ga.iso After I installed the nodes I run following command on one of the CVM to create a new cluster:  - cluster -s 172.19.1.121,172.19.1.122,172.19.1.123,172.19.1.124 create But short after the cluster creation process stuck and shows the following message in a refreshing state: (Waiting about 12h but nothing has changed)Waiting on 172.19.1.121 (Up) to start:DynamicRingChangerPithosInsightsDBAthenaMercuryMantle

We have a two node cluster running hyper-V and hardware has come to EOL.We need to replace the nodes with new supported hardware and I cannot find any documentation for this, specially for a two nodes cluster. Is there any documentation available or can anyone provide the procedure? I know hardware replacement is supported for two nodes clusters, I just cannot find instructions for it. Thanks in advance

Is it the “CVM/HOST management VLAN or all VLANs? What is the command to disable proxy ARP? Should this be done at the Nutanix level or the physical switch level?I couldn't find answers in the documentation. Any help would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in advance!

Hey all,  I am trying to do a Hypervisor Cluster comparison between AHV and ESXi.  To kick this off, does AHV have a way to load balance the VM’s and move the load to other hosts / nodes with less usage as DRS does for ESXi?  Thanks 

Does the Nutanix Backplane network allow communication between nodes without routing ? I see the CVM’s communicate between the 192.168.5.x subnet, do the CVM’s communicate over L2 within the subnet or do they use L3 in the Nutanix internal network and if I were to disconnect the L1 Physical networking would the CVM’s still be able to communicate over this network ? I am running ESXi ontop of 4 nodes and just trying to establish if the external Physical network impacts the CVM’s on each node / esxi host, if we lost a HBA / physical adapter on that has the Backplane network would the cluster become degraded and would that CVM be offline or would it still be able to talk to the other CVM’s?  Thanks 

Dear community, This is my 1st post/question here.We are storing raw data on one of our Nutanix Files. For the moment, 100 TiB are licensed on for it but these data are increasing quickly. These are mainly raw data that we need to store for at least 5 years. We also need to be able to access these files without any delay if needed in production.Therefore, we are looking for a way to free up space on Nutanix Files using tiering to be able to store these “cold” data in an S3 bucket with a tiering policy (after 1 year without access/modification, the data will be tiered on S3). This S3 bucket is for example 300Tib big.My question here is: we licenced 100Tib of this Nutanix Files with a NUS Pro licence. Do we also need to licence the 300Tib of storage used as a tiering location? Thanks for your helpLionel

I installed a single nutanix CE node in a nested VMware VM but the CVM doesnt start.The nested VM Option was checked when configuring the VM and the disk.EnableUUID parameter was set to TRUE. We should type ‘I Agree’ when shutting down a cluster, so if is it possible to shutdown a cluster with script, or any method to bypass the manual confirmation?

以前に同じ質問をさせていただいたのですが、その後自身で様々な方法を確認しても自体が好転せず他に方法がなくなってしまったため、同じ内容の質問とはなってしまいますが、改めて質問をさせていただきます。 以前の質問の通り、Deskmini A 300にNutanix CE2.1をインストールすると、 setup_rdma.py[8310]: INFO:rdma:No Ports reserved for iSER on the node. Exiting! と表示されてしまい動作が停止してしまいます。これはDeskmini A 300に起因する問題なのでしょうか?あるいは他に修復方法があるのでしょうか?参考までに、Proxmox等の他の仮想マシンは動作を確認する事ができました。 以下、以前の質問文です。現在、Deskmini A 300を使用してNutanix のCE2.1版をインストールしようとしています。 インストール自体は完了するのですが、その後再起動すると     setup_rdma.py[8310]: INFO:rdma:No Ports reserved for iSER on the node. Exiting! という表示が出て、CVMにアクセスする事ができません。そもそもPing自体も失敗してしまいました。(AHVはPing可能でした) 調べてみたのですが、情報が全くヒットしなかったため、めずらしい問題が発生してしまったと考え、こちらに相談をさせていただきました。 どなたか、同じような症状が発生した方や解決できた方はいらっしゃるでしょうか。 マシン構成の詳細は、CPU:AMD Ryzen5 2400Gメモリ:corsair VENGEANCE(DDR4-2666) 16GB * 2枚 ストレージ    CVM Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB    ハイパーバイザ WestanDigital Blue SA510 250GB    データ TOSHIBA MQ04ABD20    (データ WestanDigital EAAZ-00BXBB0)(USB外付けHDDのため動作確認のため使用停止中) となり、残りの構成は、DeskMini A300の初期構成のままとなっています。 

How to get Nutanix AHV software's(NOT CE) and trail licenses?

Can I please get the Community Roll. I am trying to get going on my Nutanix cluster and I get this error.   

When configuring a protection policy for synchronous replication between two Nutanix on-premises availability zones (AZs) without utilizing a witness VM, under the Failure Detection Mode setting, in what scenarios should Manual Mode be used, and when is Automatic Mode recommended and that related to witness service?  

In my struggle to find some environment to practice/test Nutanix admin stuff, I’ve now come to Nutanix Foundation (NCE 2.0 worked but is old, NCE 2.1 failed on some networking issue in my environment).Is it possible to create a small single node cluster running as a VM in VMware Workstation using for example Foundation?I made a few tries but it seemed Foundation required IPMI access to the host, but VMs in VMware don’t have IPMI (to my knowledge).  It thought maybe a new VM could be recognized by Foundation (tried both the Windows version and the VM) if it had booted DiscoveryOS, but I couldn’t find the Discovery OS image anywhere…Is there a way forward for an installation like this or is it a dead end?

現在NFR版でノード4つのクラスタを１つ構築しており、バックアップ用にSNRTのノード１つを使用しております。ノードは全てNX-1175S-G8で全部で５台あります。社内で動作検証中のクラスタに格納された仮想マシンが、オールフラッシュノードの容量を超えてしまう事が判明したため、クラスタをオールフラッシュノードから、ハイブリッドノードへ組み換えを行う想定をし、ストレージ用のHDDを購入いたしました。まず、バックアップ用のSNRTのノードを先にハイブリッドノード化し、非同期レプリケーションを用い、クラスタ内部の仮想マシンのスナップショットを取得しております。これ以外で、クラスタ内の仮想マシンを物理的に退避することをお勧めされておりますが、どういった手法が考えられますでしょうか。どなたか手法をご教示ねがえませんでしょうか。
