Hi Cloud builderWhile I was reading the NTNX Bible they said that the VM snapshot being taked by freezing the VM, unlikely with ESXi where the VM is stunned » Delta created for I/Os and then VMDK is consolidatedMy question while on NTNX Platform how/when the I/O takes place while VM is being snapshot’ed while its freeze.

Is there a way with NTNX Powershell cmdlets to collect software inventory data for all registered clusters? Something like;Cluster Name AOS version Foundation version NCC version Hypervisor versionThanks!

Hello all, i have managed to configure the 3 node cluster with AHV and all of the were working at first but after 2 days one cvm has been down can’t communicate with others.i have tryied to fix it but i couldn’t.both the AHV and host ip does reply for ping but the CVM dosen’t.i have run the NCC and got the log but it only says there is a duplicate ip but when i check for duplicate ip there is no duplicate ip in the configuaration. i have attached the NCC report incase you want to see it.any help will be greatly appretiated. thank you in advance.

Are there any recommendation for protecting Prism Central - I’m actually using PC Scaleout so have 3 PCVM’s and am curious if I should place these in a Metro or Async Protection Domain in the event that we perform a datacenter failover.I know that this cluster wouldn’t be critically needed in such a scenario but it would be nice to have. Any pro’s/con’s to using either PD type (Metro vs Async) for this?

Hello all,Is it possible to install the french version of Windows server 2016 using nutanix foundation ?I wonder this because in the iso whitelist, I only see english versions of windows server 2016 as supported versions.Thanks.

Good afternoon, all!I’m setting up a Move project to migrate some VMs from Hyper-V to AHV. In the 3.6 Move user guide, it says “You need PowerShell version 4.0 or later.” Do we need it on each source VM, on the HV hosts, on the management workstation, or all three? Thanks to all for looking! Gregg

HelloI am interested in the possibility to get a VM memory dump for further analysis (list of processes, sockets, other artifacts). How to do it if using the KVM hypervisor (Acropolis).I need to create a dump on a running VM for analysis. A detailed description of the procedure is required. If I understand correctly, all VMs in Nutanix are kept in the form of files, which files are VM dump files? Оr does Nutanix have a special procedure for creating and downloading a complete dummy file(s) of a virtual machine?OS doesn't matter, it can be anything. Please tell me the information to understand this issue.

In the process of installing the nx-8235-g7 equipment, the foundation cannot perform IPMI MAC ADDRESS DISCOVERY.When the installation was powered on, it was booted into Phoenix.iso and the IPMI IP setting was possible, so the installation was possible with the foundation. Is there any change in IPMI MAC DISCOVERY method from G7 equipment? And when the equipment is received and powered on, it boots into Phoenix.iso. Can you know what this is?And starting from g7, is the IPMI DEFAULT PASSWORD indicated by a sticker on the back of the device where the ipmi ID/PASSWORD is not ADMIN/ADMIN?

I wonder if there is any limit on the number of NICs (VLANs) in a guest VM using AHV \ AOS?As well as, what would be the implications of a VM with multiple NICs, for example, over 20 NICs.

I'm trying to move our vms from one cluster to another but the built in remote site don't work so now I'm trying to manually move the vmdisk files to the other cluster but the NFS connection stops working after a while. I have tried to mount the NFS share in a ESXi server but the transfer errors out after a while. Now I'm trying to use qemu-img to convert the vmdisk and move it, but it fails with : qemu-img convert nfs://127.0.0.1/default-container-49239103706845/.acropolis/vmdisk/81cd6231-e421-441c-850c-9124adf565d0 -O qcow2 ./dns-export.qcow2 & NFS Error: NFS: Read failed with NFS3ERR_JUKEBOX(-11) qemu-img: error while reading sector 4202495: Resource temporarily unavailable Is there any logs that will tell me what is happening with the NFS connection?

Hello - We created a custom DISK Image and need to automate the upload to Nutanix. Is there a way for us to programatically upload an image using powershell?

I’m unable to find the NCP exam or any mention of Nutanix on the PSI site to schedule for the exam. I went through the directed instructions of going to Nutanix University and then selecting “Take An Exam” on the menu. Not sure if i’m missing something or not.
