Helloafter reinstalling Prism Central (PC) from v.5.16.1.3 to v5.17.1.1, using the procedure for unregistering PCUnregistering cluster from PChttps://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Prism-Central-Guide-Prism-v5_5:mul-vcenter-server-unregister-pc-t.htmlwe have some strange issues:- A PC REST API query return 2 available cluster (one for PE and one for PC, with different uuid on metadata)It is normal for API 3.1? - On Nutaniy API Explorer a simle query of vms "POST /vms/list"With small payload for "get_entities_request"{ "kind": "vm", "length": 10, "offset": 0}returns { "api_version": "3.1", "code": 500, "message_list": [ { "message": "Internal Server Error. We have to do a deployment of 5 HPE DX nodes with AHV as hypervisor. Is it mandatory to have the iLO ip address in the same subnet as CVM & Host ? If not then do we have to give 2 IP addresses to foundation VM ? Let me know if anything else is needed.

I'm looking for some advice.My company recently purchased a used 3460-G4. We're a professional services firm and we want to have it for our lab so we can stand up stuff like ERA, CALM, etc. and bang around on it. This is the scenario I have:We have a four node cluster running Hyper-V. We want to migrate/reload/replace with AHV. There is nothing on this cluster that needs to be preserved.I tried the Foundation Portable application, but it does not seem to discover the nodes. I suspect that is because they are neither bare-metal nor factory imaged at this point. (based on this article - https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Field-Installation-Guide-v4_5:Field-Installation-Guide-v4_5)This is a “retail” cluster, so I do have support. I just don’t know if it’s appropriate to tie up a support engineer for the time it would take to reload a cluster. So I was hoping to at least get started on my own. I did some googling and searching here and the KB. But I suspect my search terms are either too broad or maybe even far too specific. All I get back is how to setup a brand new cluster. 

Hello! I’m pretty new to this Nutanix world. Have been dealing with standard server+storage for more than a decade. We have 2 clusters here, with 3 nodes in each site with metro availability. There are 3 protection domains active in each site (active) that are replicated to the other site (passive) and vice-versa.    Site1: Node1 - Node3 - Node5 PDs site1 (active): PROD_001, DEV_001, INFRA_001 PDs site1 (passive): PROD_002, DEV_002, INFRA_002   Site2: Node2 - Node4 - Node6 PDs site2 (active): PROD_002, DEV_002, INFRA_002 PDs site2 (passive): PROD_001, DEV_001, INFRA_001   In vCenter cluster configuration we obviously have affinity rules for VMs/Hosts in site1 and VMs/Hosts in site2, preventing the VMs running in “odd” nodes from being stored in “even” nodes. Sometimes we have to migrate VMs from one site to another. So we do a complete vmotion (compute and storage). Recently, we upgraded AOS and AHV in a 6-NX-1065-G5 nodes cluster. Those nodes have only 1 Gbps interfaces and the upgrade process got stuck many times while actively moving guest VMS to other nodes when setting each node to maintenance mode. Tech support told us this happened because new AOS and AHV versions were designed to work at 10 Gbps, which we know is a best practice, but a hardware upgrade would be needed in our scenario then.Question: I´m guessing configuring the four uplink interfaces as Balance-SLB bond may help, having a total bandwidth of 4 Gbps in optimal conditions, Has anybody gone through this problem and applied this cure? Hi Cloud builderWhile I was reading the NTNX Bible they said that the VM snapshot being taked by freezing the VM, unlikely with ESXi where the VM is stunned » Delta created for I/Os and then VMDK is consolidatedMy question while on NTNX Platform how/when the I/O takes place while VM is being snapshot’ed while its freeze.

Hello all, i have managed to configure the 3 node cluster with AHV and all of the were working at first but after 2 days one cvm has been down can’t communicate with others.i have tryied to fix it but i couldn’t.both the AHV and host ip does reply for ping but the CVM dosen’t.i have run the NCC and got the log but it only says there is a duplicate ip but when i check for duplicate ip there is no duplicate ip in the configuaration. i have attached the NCC report incase you want to see it.any help will be greatly appretiated. thank you in advance.

Hello, i have a running nutanix 3 node cluster in my environment all is good. the problem is when i create a VM and launch it i the OS starts with without the network adapter i have added 1 Disk and also 1 virtio and also the OS in separate disk configuration. i have the screenshot of the configuration please tell what did i do wrong. 

What are the commands to shutdown and delete guest VMs?

Are there any recommendation for protecting Prism Central - I’m actually using PC Scaleout so have 3 PCVM’s and am curious if I should place these in a Metro or Async Protection Domain in the event that we perform a datacenter failover.I know that this cluster wouldn’t be critically needed in such a scenario but it would be nice to have. Any pro’s/con’s to using either PD type (Metro vs Async) for this?
