Today we have an Openedge Progress Database running in a VMware cluster.Is it homologated to Nutanix AHV if we migrate?

Just a few questions re sequential I/O and the OPLOG versus the Extent Store. If the I/O is deemed sequential in nature, will this always bypass the OPLOG or only when the write operation is larger then 1MB?  Does bypassing the oplog mean that the write will be a lot slower in comparison?  It still hits the SSD so my assumption is that it’s going to be the same. Why does the process of coalescing the writes before sequentially draining them help with performance? I’m interested in why this step is necessary as opposed to just writing directly to the SSD and then replicating out.

Hi,Can you please point me to a document with _detailed_ description of networking requirements for Files for PD recovery to work, as well as _detailed _ description of how the networking is being handled during the failover?The reason I’m asking is that I’m planning PD for Files, and I need to understand the networking side of that, i.e. how Storage and Client networking are being handled during the failover to the other cluster, where the networking is different (different datacentre). Do I pre-configure portgroups to connect to in advance, as well as the IP-s to assign?, and AOS/Files handle this automatically during the failover? Or is this a “wizard”-driven workflow where I specify portgroups and IPs? Or is there a requirement for stretched VLAN-s for both Client and Storage networks? I wasn’t able to find and deatiled information on that, so am askign for your help.Thank you, Victor

Hello everyone,I’m trying to install the Nutanix File Analytics application.I got a message ‘ File Analytics server deployment is in progress’ when I click the link ‘Deploy File Analytics’.Before this happened, I’ve tried same link and configured File analytics options and clicked the ‘Deploy’ in filnal. It was something that there was no problem.But the installation was stopped in 1% progress, means no more advance.Anybody could help me, please…

Hi,I can’t access LCM in my CE cluster. It just says “LCM Framework Update is in progress. Please check back when the update process is completed.” It’s been like this for days. Updating Foundation and NCC worked fine the old way.I can’t see any active tasks in Prism or using ecli task.listAny ideas?

Hi,We run an out of hours monitoring service here that automatically contacts an engineer when a specific email address receives an alert.The problem is, I don’t want to be alerted to every event - only Critical or events that affect the running of the cluster (e.g. Disk Failure, Node Failure, CVM failure) to the out of hours, but we do want normal alerts to come through to another email address.How would I go about customizing alerts to a) go to a specific address and b) only critical events are sent?The e-mail config for alerts seems to cover all events which is great for in-hours but not for on-call. Custom alerts don’t seem to cover the events above.

Hello,I would need help. I want to build a VM image via terraform. I always get an error message when deploying. I can not delete the created image.I get the following error message when deploying and when deleting:INTERNAL_ERROR: Attribute _app_blueprint_template not set, progress_message: Delete Image "TestImage".I can't set the attribute and need help. Hi All,I have a HP GL380p G8 and I have 1x30GB SSD 1 x 400GB SSD 2 x 600 SASWhen i start the install it asks for the location to install the hypervisor, CVM and what are data disks.  Can I use the 30GB SSD for the hypervisor and the CVM. This will leave the 400GB SSD for performance tier and the 2 x 600GB for normal tier.

I recently used LCM to update the firmware on my 9 node cluster. One of the hosts did not come back up. I was able to get it to reboot back into the host OS, but it had no network connectivity. The interfaces were up, IP address assigned, just no traffic passing through the bridge. After fighting with it for some time, I decided to eject the node from the cluster and just re-foundation a new one. We have created a new vlan for windows 10 VM and I wanted to update existing network to new network. I was not able edit the existing network and choose the new one, it is grayed out. Do I need to delete and re-add new nic and choose the new network? For ESXi, you simply browse the network and select the one you want and save it.

Hi,Can you please help me with any recommendation and/or point me to any documentation around running Nutanix Files alongside other types of workloads (on ESXi)? I.e. server virtualisation, VDI, other Files instances, sustainability for resource contention, resource reservation, etc.While I do understand that in an extreme case of a dedicated HCI cluster where only FSVM-s are spread across the nodes, Files would surely perform well, I’m after more real-world scenarios, where Files still deliver.Thank you, Victor.

What is difference between classroom (Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Administration (ECA) [V5.15] (NUECA515)), online (Enterprise Cloud Administration) and online plus (Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Administration 5.15 Online Plus (NUECA515-OP))?I can’t check the instructor-led classroom material. I just want to know that these are same contents but different way to learn.

In the default AHV network schema, ther’s a connection between the AHV management and the virbr0. Can you explain me the purpose of that connection and the IP adresses used ?

Hi,I would like to configure anti-afinity on on the VMs. I checked this only able to configure thru command. To configure the rules, does the VMs need to be powered down?

If the clusters are related with prism central (so I should use v3), Can i use v2 to actions like: manage NIC, Attach/Detach Disks, manage snapshots from API v2?Is recovery plans is the same as snapshots here? I want to create jobs for automatic snapshots, but I do not see thios possibility in v2I am using the same account for api v2 and v3 actions, in production environment with my own IP, it will be the same host? It is specified in API Documentation, but I want to be sure if the host for both will be the same - eg. nutanixtest.com/v2… and nutanixtest.com/v3…Thanks!

I started a 1-click ESXi HyperVisor upgrade of a 7-node cluster which progressed well and had already successfully upgraded 4 of the nodes, when one of the hosts wasn’t able to enter maintenance mode because one of the VMs was spending too long consolidating a snapshot. After many hours had passed, the remaining 1-click update tasks all appeared to have aborted.  I manually resolved the issue involving the guest, and then started the 1-click update again.  It prompted for vCenter details, and then created new hypervisor update tasks to update the remainder of the ESXi hosts.These also completed successfully.All Hypervisor update Tasks appear to be completed, and all the ESXi hosts are updated.All NCC checks also pass OK.  The cluster is healthy, the Health Icon is green, and Data Resiliencey is OK.Howerver, the CVMs all still believe there is a Hypervisor upgrade in progress:nutanix@NTNX:~$ ncli host ls | egrep 'upgrade|99825' Hypervisor Version : VMware ESXi 6.7.0 build-1749

Hi, I already passed the NCA exam and I tried twice to pass the NCP-MCI 5.15 wo=ithout any success , its very frustrating, I been studying pretty hard the blue print and all the training material from the University website, but I found the test questions a little confusing most of the time, Cna anybody recommend a more practical study guide so I can FNALLY past this test?
