I have a question regarding private networks.  I have an NFS share that resides in the 192.168.20.x network, however my Nutanix public (Internet access) network is in the 10.10.2.x.  I need to create a network where my VM can talk to the NFS server.  I’ve reviewed some YouTube videos but they’re not very helpful.  Any better documentation out there?

Been having oplog errors for nearly 5 months now. I have read through the article: NCC Health Check: oplog_episode_count_check and I have been able to get the vdisk_id. HiI have a Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Installation on Nutanix AOS which serves as a template This Ubuntu Tempate installation is a basic Ubuntu installation (clicked through basic installation, cloud-init installed) Now i want users to be able to deploy a new VM as a clone from this Ubuntu template and passing via “Custom Script” option the cloud-init script in Prism GUIUnfortunatly this does not work - the “Custom Script” cloud-init instructions are not applied during creation of the clone.Do i possibly have to modify something inside the Ubuntu Template installation (ex. cloud-init datasource or similiar, /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg or whatever)?Doesnt matter where i look the existing documentation (cloud-init, nutanix, ubuntu) etc. seems to be rather incomplete.I had a working example in the past with Centos 7 deplyoment with Nutanix,cloud-init and deploying via Custom Script option in Prism element - but i cant get it running with UbuntuP.sI’m aware of this article https://portal.nutanix.com/page/d

Can a Nutanix Storage node contain more secondary VM copies than what would fit into the existing capacity on the cluster nodes disk? and if yes, how does one bring the storage node down for maintenance?  

I am using the newest version of X-ray (3.10.0) to connect to a vCenter (6.5U1d) to have some performance tests for my cluster. At the step 4 (Validation) of creating the target cluster, it failed to validate the cluster.Error: Target cannot be verified.After looking into the log, in the HTTP Response body, it contains the 500 Internal Server Error. Still cannot get what it means as everything seems fine and the connection from X-ray VM to cluster still has no problem at all.

May I know is there any command to change the vlan of the virtual network resides on vswitch br1?

Is there support for Cloudstack and Nutanix or drives for it to run.

I’m relatively new to Powershell and have been looking for the cmdlet get the Role Mapping information from a cluster. I’ve no issues connecting using Powershell I just cant find the correct cmdlet which will allow me to get the Role Mappings. My apologies if I haven’t placed this is the correct group.

I’m new to Nutanix and we have a Nutanix cluster online. For testing purposes I’m running diskspd test in a VM.I’m running some diskspd test with identical VM configs in several enviroments 3-tier Hyper-V/ VMware and HCI Nutanix AHV.Why is it that running a test with -Sh flag (no software/hardware cache) gives almost 10 times lower results in Nutanix compared to other platforms? Without -Sh flag Nutanix is running test with higher results compared to my other testing platforms. Is it because of how CVM is designed to work? I’m just trying to understand.

I have read the documents and manuals of APC PowerChute Network but it is a scenario that doesn’t apply to mean. Apparently, someone sold to the customer a Vertiv Liebert GXT4 UPS. Liebert’s engineers concluded that the product couldn’t provide a graceful shutdown of the Nutanix cluster, while it could shutdown the ESXi on top.Is there anyone out there who had succeeded in performing a graceful shutdown without APC?

We have Nutanix SX-1065-G5 with 3 nodes, every node have 4*16GB, and we need to add 64GB to every node. Is it possible to add 4*16GB for every node ?RAM : C-MEM-16GB-DDR4-2400 

I have been trying from last 2 days not able to open Nutanix university website i tried in Google Chrome & Edge browser.

We are new to Nutanix. We are migrating from ESXi to AHV.  We currently have some level of CPU oversubscription in place on ESXi.  We anticipate the need to oversubscribe CPU on some clusters and I am looking for ways to do this safely.  I’ve looked in the Best practices guide but there was very little there.  Any help would be appreciated.

How to check VM reboot time in Nutanix Prism central and Prism element.VM last reboot time. In a month how many times VM got rebooted.

I want to try FRAME with azure to see what it give “hope” azure native login is supported.I created the enterprise application  , the secret etc..  the only step that i change is that i set the owner permission on the RG quite better than the subscription but i receive an ADAL error during  authentication ;  this is maybe because ADAL is depreciated ..  could you warn the support about it  ?

Is there a way in Prism Central to pull the cpu sockets/core for each host? I have 87 hosts in 18 clusters. Many of these clusters are running ESXi and I can at least reference RVTools data to get this info however 6 of these clusters are AHV and I don’t know the NIACtool well enough to know if it can pull from multiple clusters at once. So I was hoping to get this inventory info centrally from Prism Central.

Hi,We have PRISM Central Pro license and I’d like a report or Analysis view on which virtual machines are consuming the most memory. The Cluster in question is VMware 6.7. Is this possible and what is the best way to go about it?

I’d like to rename the host name on a single-node cluster - assuming that I update the name in the /etc/sysconfig/network and /etc/hostname files, I guess I would also need to stop/start the acropolis service. I know this is safe to do on a 3-node cluster but is there are risk/impact with a 1-node cluster?

Hello,I was hoping to get some clarification as to what features are included in AOS Starter.  I usually use the following link as a guide:Nutanix Software Editions & Licensing: Solutions to Run on Our AppliancesThe above link states that “Basic Compression (LZ4) - Inline and post process” are included starter.  However as soon as I enable post compression I get a license violation notice.  In prism element it also shows the available features for starter and post compressions shows as yes:Is post compression available in Starter? Also the link states that lz4hc compression is not available for Starter but running the following command on a starter clusters show it is available and compressing data:curator_cli display_data_reduction_report Has something changed to make lz4hc available to starter? Is there another document or link with a comprehensive list of features available for each edition? Thanks,--Zip

As i know that if drive failure, Nutanix will rebuilt the data immediately. May i know if node failure, how long does the Nutanix will trigger to rebuilt if have sufficient node and capacity in existing cluster? Thanks

Added 9 nodes(AHV) to existing cluster successfully and when i try to verifyLACP status with command (hostssh "ovs-appctl bond/show br0-up" | egrep "===|lacp_status") it is showing LACP status off.Steps i performed before adding the nodes to existing cluster1.Configured network on all 9 nodes2.Configured LACP on all 9 nodes Please advice.  

How many nodes we can deploy at the same time in nutanix ? Is there any limit or shall we just go ahead and deploy all the nodes at the same time ?Same query is related to cluster expansion, can we add multiple nodes at the same time in existing cluster ?Thanks

I’m new to Nutanix so bear with me if this has been asked. Is it possible to simulate a x-over cable between two VM’s? basically I want any traffic leaving a load balancer to be passed via layer 1-2 to a WAF appliance so it can be inspected. The WAF is in transparent mode and won’t have an IP Address. In the past with physical machines i would just cable them inline.
