The release-api.nutanix.com is not reachable from my prism central and my prism element .I have valid name servers configured in both PC and PE .I got it verified from network team that the traffic is passing by firewall .Can anyone let me know what exact things do i need to check in my name servers so that this URL will be connected from PC and PE ?

Hi folks!We’re implementing Nutanix Files and we are not sure how to handle following scenario:Let’s assume, we create some File Server with some Shares. We set the size of the File Server to 2TiB. Now we create a lot of share that are used by a lot of endpoints.The usage of the File Server is growing some dozens of GiBs a Month - now worries here. Suddenly some system/user is filling up space rapidly, let’s say 100GiB an hour for the sake of drama. Now, the Cluster wont warn us until it’s almost too late. Maybe this happens in the middle of the night of a holiday that is on a weekend while half of our staff is on vacation and the other half is somehow indisposed/slow/unwary.It would be cool to have some alert, that warns us from extreme usage growth. and it would be great to have some (limited) autogrow featureSo my question to the community: Is there something like that? As seen in this attached screenshot, Prism Central appears to have lost track of this “running” task.  Updates of network security rules normally finish very quickly (I think might have clicked an apply button twice after editing a FLOW security policy during on-site FLOW training.)  Is this something only Nutanix Support can clear away? 

I just updated a cluster’s AOS and am now getting the warning:AHV version 20190916.360 is currently installed on host, while minimum compatible AHV version is 20190916.410But I cannot AHV without updating also AOS to 5.19.2 which would change my plan to STS (currently installed 5.15.5.1 LTS)So I have to ignore the warning and waiting for a compatible AOS LTS version, or should I change to 5.19.2 STS?

What problems or impacts can I have after upgrading the Prism Central to a version that is not compatible with the AOS of the sites that are managed by Prism Central?Will I have any unavailability to access the PE of the remote site via the web because of the version that is not compatible with Prism Central?For example I will update the PC to version pc.2020.11.0.1 and AOS of my PE will be in version 5.11.2 which by Nutanix matrix is not compatible. I cannot update the AOS of the EP at this time.

I have a server that no longer needs one of its 2TB disk. I know how to remove the disk from the VM but, how do I remove that VMDK from the Nutanix Storage container? Is there a way to browse it and then delete it?  2TB is a lot of space that I would like to reclaim.

Hi,we just upgraded our prism central instance to the most current community edition version of Nutanix (2020.09.16). We also upgraded our cluster successfully. For this to happen I had to unregister the cluster from prism central first (with the help of: https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/kbs/details?targetId=kA00e000000XeZjCAK). After everything was updated I wanted to register the cluster again in prism central, but after some time I get the error message “Error: Failed to create remote connection”. I was trying to get AlienVault (OSSIM) to run on Nutanix, but I have hit a road block. I was able to get the install dialog to run after setting the boot to legacy bios. However, after install, It fails to boot.My questions, do any of you use any open source SIMS solution that works in Nutanix?I could accept a SIMS solution at a cost. However, after going through sales with LogRythim and splunk, I was frustrated because both of them incure log ingestion fees. We may have a good budget, but we are limited with our operational cost.Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

I’m asking about the version of VMFS datastore for ESXi hypervisor on Nutanix cluster. I’m trying to create new VM with a disk larger than 2 TB with no luck of success, after some google searches seems this issue could be due to VMFS3.

I’m just getting started with Move. We need to move VMs from an ESXi cluster to a new Nutanix AHV cluster. The ESXi hosts are managed by vCenter.Do I start by deploying the Move appliance in vCenter or on the Prism Central or PE?The Release Notes for 4.0 show our versions of ESXi, vCenter, AOS and Prism Central are supported.

I would like to run a command from a host to gather the info just allssh does on cvms. I would like to avoid login into all the host and run a quick check from any of them. is there any easy way to do that?I read about hostssh command but my bash is not able to found it.
