シングルノードで構成されているクラスタの情報を、NutanixCollectorを使って取得しようとしています。しかし、「Scanning Cluster(s) in your environment ...」が表示されたまま一向に進みません。何か方法は無いでしょうか？

We would like to upgrade the hypervisor on our Nutanix cluster from Windows server 2012R2 to windows server 2016.Kindly could you please advice the steps to do that and avoid any issues in upgrading.

In a 5 node Nutanix Cluster, what is the maximum  File Server VMs you can have per File Server?

Currently running PrismCentral pc.2021.3.0.2After upgrading to this version, the /home partition is supposed to expand to 50gb from 40gb.  This unfortunately did not happen.I found KB9525, and tried to run this command to manually expand the partition:sudo python /usr/local/nutanix/bootstrap/bin/pc_config_home_partition.py --skip_end_sector_validationThat didn’t succeed in expanding the /home partition (which was sitting at 91% utilisation)In the pc_config_home_partition.log file, I found this error::178 BLKRRPART: Device or resource busysfdisk: The command to re-read the partition table failed.Run partprobe(8), kpartx(8) or reboot your system now, before using mkfsI ran partprobe, didn’t helpkpartx requires parameters, and I wasnt sure what inputs to provide, so I didn’t run thatI did reboot Prism Central, but that didn’t help either, except it did somehow reduce disk utilisation of /home to 76% from 91%.  Still couldn’t expand the disk thoughAnyone faced a similar situation, or have

Hi Folks,I have some SQL servers running on Nutanix without using ‘Flash’ mode for those. I am facing disk latency alerts for vmdisks on those SQL server VMs. Is there any way to identify if the VM disks are on HDD or SSD?

The instructions for shutting down a cluster are to use “sudo shutdown -P now” on the CVM’s in the cluster to shut each one down, but the command only works on the first CVM.   The command errors out the rest of the CVMs because they can’t reach the first CVM that was shut down.   Am I missing something?

Hi Everyone, My Nutanix cluster had 4 node running AHV version Nutanix 20170830.337 and AOS version 5.10.9.1 LTS.Suddenly, one of the node had CVM unreachable issue. When I’m running cluster status command got message 1 CVM down.I’m try to run nodetool -h 0 ring got something like this. When I’m issue cmd ncli host list. I’m notice the problem node got this message “Node marked to be added back to metadata store”1 of my colleague try to repair host boot device but no luck. What should we do now?  

I read the Supports and Insights page.“A distributed share or export is the repository for the personal files of a user, and a standard share is the repository shared by a group.  A distributed share or export is distributed at the top-level directories while standard shares are on a single file server VM (FSVM).”Does that mean if I create a standard share called “Shared” for 100 users, all 100 users would be hitting a single FSVM for access?Why wouldn’t I want to create “Share” as distributed in order to spread the load?Our first Files setup has D$ as the only top level share as distributed.  Other shares are below it and set as standard.  Any issues with that?  Not sure why we did this, or if we fully understood.  At least the D$ with shares underneath mimic a Windows file server.

I need to upgrade an dark site cluster from AOS 5.1.5 to 5.20.1.1.   It looks like I need to upgrade from 5.1.5 to 5.5.9.5 to 5.10.11.1 to 5.15.6 to 5.20.1.1.   Will I need to upgrade the AHV matched to each version after I upgrade the AOS?

How do I copy a snapshot configuration to a CD disk or laptop HD? Worse case scenario I lose the NTNX configuration so, I’ll need to reimage my NTNX from last good configuration. Please help...

Hi everyone,I want change current CVM memory size from 32GB to 40GB (AOS 5.15, NX model)but when I select Configure CVM in the Setting page,there is no option for 40GB from dropbox (only 36GB, 48GB and 64Gb)But when I checked on other Nutanix cluster (AOS 5.20, HX Model)I can choice 40GB from dropbox.So is it behavior change from 5.15 to 5.20? or It depends on Hardware model (NX vs DX)Ref URL: CVM Memory ConfigurationAnd if I want to change CVM memory to 40GB, I must using CLI?

I have a few systems to rebuild from baremetal. They are all secure boot enabled and to disable this I have to go onsite to change a jumper.Foundation dosen’t seem to be working which I am assuming the phoenix boot just gets skipped as its not uefi enabled. Is there a version or a process I can use to bare metal build these systems. I can easily install esxi manually if required.Just trying to avoid a trip into a covid zone to change a jumper if i can avoid it.

Prism Central pc.2021.5 added the ‘Resiliency Status’ to the Storage widget which is a cool idea. However all of my PE clusters in this widget show as Unknown with a callout that reads “Details are unavailable in Clusters < 6.0”.Looking at the latest downloads available online I do see a version 6.0 of AOS for the STS release path so I assume that we’ll have a wait a little while longer for us LTS customers.  

Hi, I’m new to nutanix upgrade. I would need to upgrade my HPE nutanix server firmware. Yesterday I’ve perform inventory and the LCM upgraded to 2.4.2 I checked the server firmware such as bios still remain same? Am I missing some steps?

We have 2 Nutanix clusters running with the ESXi Hypervisor. We’re using Metro availability to replicate datastores\containers between clusters. We’d like to replicate some of the VMs that reside in these Metro enabled containers over to a potential 3rd site.  We were thinking to use Async replication for this.Is this possible and is it supported?I ask this because in the “Conditions For implementing Asynchronous Replication” guidelines there is a condition that states “Multiple protection domains cannot protect the same VM.  Configure one protection domain to protect a VM”.

Hi, AHV is based on KVM, but I can't find any documentation that states that you actuelly can run/move KVM VMs on AHV. Can anyone confirm this? We have a customer who wishes to move their KVM VMs to our AHV environment. :) So we want to confirm that it is possible. Best regards Peter

Hi All, I’m sorry because couldn’t find related k/b on mixed nodes compatibility/requirements in details.  Just wondering current latest platform supported for mixed nodes with different OEM hardware model in same cluster? For example: Existing we have 3 x HPE DX360 in same cluster and would like expand with different hardware model/family such as Dell XC family/NX family or HPE higher model like DX380 in same cluster? Appreciate it in advance. John.
