I have a requirement to deploy configuration  server in Nutanix cloud for DR scenario, Azure provides OVF template to deploy this server. But as nutanix doesn’t support OVF format i have extracted OVA file to .vmdk files and created disks with it. Created a new VM and attached these disks to it. But facing VM Boot up issues. Any walkthrough for deploying VM using OVA/OVF files.

Hello Team, We are trying to migrate Fortisiem VMs ( Collectors & Supervisors ) from VMWARE to AHV using Move but facing Authentication Failed issue. We verified and we have root access to the VMs and all the rights on the 2 VMs.  Also, the distribution of VMs are Redhat 4.4.7-23). Maybe it’ s a problem of Os compatibility, what do you all think. 

CVM running but no route to host, installed in vmware workstation, advanced ip scanner indicated cvm is up but not running  

Hi, Im trying to understand how a Nutanix node works fine even if it’s connected to two switches not in stack. And i found that only one interface is enable when using the active-backup mode, but when im checking on the switches i fount that both interfaces are up. So, im asking if there is a way to check which interface is actif from AHV or CVM.     

We are planning for migrate using Nutanix move from ESXi to AHV.Does it require local admin credentials for migrations for any account with root preveliges is fine.I know the appliance will try to install VirtIO drivers and uninstall vmware tools.But can it be by passed or local admin access is required during migration.Also have another question on Domain controller and Citrix vms running on the vmware ESXi.Are there any pre-requisites to be done before migration. ThanksSriram  

Hi,Does anyone replace a failure capacity SATA HDD on Nutanix NX Series with same model HDD before? Is it possible/or compatiable? The NX Series already EOL!

When a virtual machine is created and a name is given, this does not necessarily reflect the operating system’s computer name.  Is there a way via the Prism API v2 to get not only the name as define in Prism but also the name assigned to the OS?Neither of these return the OS computer name:/vms/vms/{uudi}The Nutanix Guest Tools are installed.Is it possible via the API v2 (or even via the API v3) to get the actual OS computer name?ThanksGary

Hi, i am new to this technology and have a new school coming on board running 3 NX-1065-G7 hyperconverged running windows 2019 vms for the school, what i am looking for is a learning / training path that will set me in good stead to gain an understanding and have the ability to support the servers in a day to day running.

my NX nodes having eth0 & eth1 is 10 Gig /  eth2 & eth3 is 1 Gig.we have created new bridge br1 with eth2,eth3 uplinks and created new vlan (vlan 17 ) in br1 for DMZ traffic.command used -: acli net.create VLAN-DMZ vswitch_name=br1 vlan=17current scenario is default br0 is in under vs0. Query -: Do I need to make a vs1 (vSwitch1) for br1? 

Hi,I'm preparing my graduation project on HCI - Nutanix NX, and I'm stuck with the fundamental components of Acropolis AOS. In some documents, they discuss DSF + AMF + AHV, but in most documents and publications AMF is ignored.

I have question about prism central, if I have Nutanix frame configured  what happen if my prism central VM went down? noting that I have only one prism central VM.

I would like to apply Host-VM affinity/anti-affinity rules. Some of these referenced hosts are currently in maintenance mode.Am I able to apply these rules while the hosts are in maint mode? If not, am I correct in thinking that once the hosts are taken out of maint mode, then I can apply the affinity rules, and the system will apply these rules (migrating VMs etc. where it needs to)?

Hi, I have a trouble to enable Nutanix Calm when I try to deploy it, I checked NCC and everything run well but in Calm the Precheck failed: “ PC to 0005e2ce-d78a-2724-0000-00000000e308 host cluster health check is not OK. Please check if cluster is accessible from PC ”.My Prism Central version is 5.20.4.5 LTS - Starter License

Linux server requires NFS volume allocation. Volume allocation due to Nutanix Files configuration. The client company does not have a DNS server. In this case, I wonder if there is an error that can occur when DNS is set to an arbitrary domain name that does not exist.

I need to monitor Nutanix replication and one of the metrics is not having unprotected vms.Is there any way to list these VMs with nCLI or another command?

Sorry if I am asking a silly question. I would like to ask if I configured protection policy from Prism Central. I assume even PC is failed the replication should perform as is just that it would be appreciated if anyone could share some thoughts or documentation to support that.

I have started to code this but thought maybe someone might have already completed this. My issue is I have a windows server in AHV with 10 disk drives. When I get a call from my windows team to expand a drive they will give me the drive letter. However I cannot use that to map back to Nutanix AHV. So outside of coding a tool that will map these 2 systems is there a way to correlate what drive is what? I do not want to have to log into a VM every time I get this request if possible.

How to power on the CVM from AHV. It is showing power off  prism and power on option is greyed out.

Is there any kind of integration between Calm and VMware NSX-T? I would like to understand if there is the possibility to “completely automate” deployment of VMs (integration with vsphere) and network services.

We have a customer running AOS 5.10 with the newest version of LCM. For some reason, the AOS upgrades are not showed in the “updates” tab on the LCM software. The only thing that i do was run inventory (not runned since years). I understand there is an upgrade order… but i want to make sure if anything needs to be done to LCM shows this AOS upgrades.

I have a question about the new version NCC 4.X and AOS 5.20.X.When I upgraded the cluster from to AOS 5.20.2.1 from AOS 5.15. and NCC upgarde to 4.3.0.2. I found the the ping_hosts.INFO file in /home/nutanix/data/logs/sysstats has disappeared and I cannot check the latency between CVM every minute. There is only the ping_gateway.INFO file to check the latency between CVM and gateway. But there is also ncc alert that the inter_CVM_latency is high. So where can I check the detail latency information between CVM in the new verison?
