Nutanix NX3x50

What are the required software needed?

How do I erase the previous host that downloaded a software that requires authentication before going to OS?

How do I factory reset the server?

How to install Ubuntu on one node, but use two nodes for computation and the other 2 nodes for backup.

Just run foundation and you have a new cluster. More info here in the field installation guide: Field Installation Guide

But I am being blocked by a ESXi 5.5.0 log in screen that won’t allow me to proceed further. I am unfamiliar with vmware and their products. For that, I know I would need to contact the provider but given the system was used, I don’t know how we could get that login info.

If you foundation the systems, they will be reimaged and everything will be wiped. So, you don't need to know the passwords. The only password you need is the IPMI credentials. And if you don’t have them, you can reset them. Here is a tutorial for that: Reset Supermicro IPMI Password to Default – Physical Access – ipmicfg

You just need the foundation VM / Foundation Application with AOS and hypervisor iso if you are going with ESXi. AHV is already bundled in AOS images.

You can download the required from Support portal → downloads

AOS download : https://portal.nutanix.com/page/downloads?product=nos (support login required)

Foundation: https://portal.nutanix.com/page/downloads?product=foundation (support login requried)
