I have a scenario where I only have the vmUUID available to me and the NGT tools aren't currently installed on a VM so it appears to be limiting what I'm able to do with the API. Is there a way to retrieve a VMs vmID using the vmUUID?

Is there any API to get VM UUID given VM name or any work around to get that? Is it possible to delete a VM given only VM name with API? Thanks in advance. Regards, Pawan

I have windows 2012 r2 VM but I forget the windows administrator password. When I'm trying to reset the password from recovery command line using below command. [/list] Usually above command will work for normal physical windows server , ESXi Guest vm's to reset the local administrator password. ** In nutanix recovery command line I am unable to view my actual OS disk. Is there any way, How can i view my guest VM os disk on recovery mode. ?

Can anybody confirm if the Extent Store size shown in the Nutanix Sizer tool will be equal to the Container Maximum Capacity that can be used by the VMs for data storage? I am designing a 3-node cluster with following Disks 3 * 960 GB SSD 6 * 4 TB HDD Nutanix Sizer shows Extent Store (Assuming RF2) = 9.63 TiB for HDD and 0.64 TiB for SSD The total shown is 10.27. Will this value be the Maximum Capacity available for the Container to be made out of storage pool? As I have observed the Container Maximum Capacity is exactly half of what the Storage Pool Capacity is shown. What will be the Storage Pool Capacity shown for the above mentioned specs and is this value visible in Nutanix Sizer tool/Storage Capacity Calculator?

How can I license our Prism Central? It's running a Pro Trial license now. I've generated a Generate a cluster summary file, but when I try to upload it in the portal I get the following message: Insufficient licenses available to upgrade from your current license type of [b]Starter[/b]. Hi, We have a Windows 2012R2 HyperV host with about 8 Windows 2008R2 VMs. These VMs are Gen1 using .vhdx as the file system. I'm currently running Ntnx 4.7.4 and was wondering the following: [list=1] [*]Does the image service import .vhdx files or do I need to use qemu-image ? [*]If I use something like Starwind V2V converter, it supports QCOW2 and RAW, is there a preferred Ntnx format ? (Image inserted below) [*]Does the SMB version on the CVM have unique specifications ? I have been trying to remove an existing nfs whitelisted machine through Rest API explorer. API: cluster/nfs_whitelist/{name:.+} I have tried giving the path parameter with different combination of IP/sunbnet mask but all were failed with error message: Specified NFS Whitelist does not exist. Here, machine IP is whitelisted as I can see it in Filesystem whitelists but I am not able to figure out the exact representation of path parameter. If anyone knows, then please tell me. Hello, In setting up Nutanix we do not allow it on the Internet. How much does this constrain what we can do with it? ie Life Cycle Management (LCM) Although LCM allows us to point to a different source we will still need to get the Modules somehow? Although LCM lets us start an Inventory it still seems to want to go out and get a Manifest file and then it fails? Can these be downloaded somehow? Where else are we going to find difficulty with? We are designing a Nutainx cluster utilizing a NX-1065-G5 four host block licensed with Prism Pro and Acropolis Ultimate. This will be the production site managing approximately 12 workloads. For the recover site we are looking at building a 3 host Dell cluster. The hypervisor throughout the environment will be AHV. There will be a Cisco metro network solution between these two sites. My question is, what are our options for replication between the two sites? The KB lists solutions for ESXi and Hyper-V, but does not mention AHV configurations. Is this because this is a native solution built into the Prism solution? Thank you for any enlightenment.

Using near sync replication in AOS 5.5 means that normal snapshots on VMs cannot be initiated by external backup tools like comtrade, rubrik This is a bit of a showstopper. If we need an RPO of 15 minutes on AHV, we have to use nearsync - but then we can't backup VMs off the cluster When will Nutanix resolve this rather major downside?

Execute REST calls from a Linux machine rather than using the GUI (Prism) I would like to know if we can execute resp api query inside the curl command to create events such as VM create, delete, etc and get the response to the query I made through curl ? It's would be very helpful for us to help the client to automate the process of creating events/triggers through the Prism manually. Client has the Nutanix Prism and AHV in their network setup and creating these events manually.

Hi All, Hope you are doing well. I have question regarding the storage usage and space reclaimation in VMWare 6.5 with Nutanix clusters. This question is more into VMware instead of Nutanix, thought of checking here. Just to give a overview we have Nutanix nodes and we have got VMWare 6.x installed on the nodes, a single storage pool and multiple containers. I got a RHEL VM migrated from the old environment and it got 4 disks (10GB, 20 GB, 500GB & 5 GB), all the 4 disks are in the same DS and thin provisioned. No deduplication & compression enabled on those. Now when I access the VMware web console and look for the vmdk files by browsing the files in the DS, I can see a different capacity from the actual usage compared at the server level. When I see the same VM via PRISM and I cannot see the 4 disks assigned to it. It shows only 1 disk with some 160 MB used out of 20 GB and none other than that. Could you please help me to understand why its not showing the disks in the P
