Hi all is there any guide for what ESXi version/build-number is support or unsupport about Foundation? Sometimes I need to know what version Foundation can install what version ESXi Or I only use the newest version Foundation to install older version ESXi? Does it always work? I hope there will be some information let me know when I install older ESXi on newer Nutanix using newer Foundation Some Costomers not always use the newest ESXi thanks!

Hi all, today I wanted to upgrade NOS on one of our clusters from 4.1.x to 4.6.3 which worked perfectly fine for another cluster. The first CVM was updated successfully but the next CVM Update failed. (Maybe due to connectivity issues to the host.) upgrade_status says, that the node is upgrading right now, but in fact the CVM is powered off and won't boot. After it displays the following information it reboots fails again and after the second reboot it stays shut down. EDIT: it seems like the update process tried to shut down this cvm but got a timeout and now the update is somehow stuck. Can I somehow restart the upgrade process or manually update this CVM? Good evening. We are evaluating some nutanix offerings from a local partner. However I have some Microsoft related question and the partner is taking too long to respond. 1- Is there a version of Nutanix Acropolis/PRISM (4 node)that allows me to run unlimited Windows VMs without me needing to purchase a MS Windows DataCenter Core License from Microsoft? 2- Is there a PRISM/Acropolis Pro version that comes with a built in Windows Datacenter valid license? Or 3-Do I need (as usual) to buy my Datacenter Core licenses to properly license my new Windows VMs? Thanks

Hi, after upgradeing to AOS 5.5.0.7 from 5.1.3 yesterday I am getting alerts saying that "Pulse cannot connect to REST server endpoint. Connection Status: Unknown, Pulse Enabled: Unknown, Error Message: Unable to determine Pulse connectivity status to REST endpoint." When configuring Pulse it shows me connection method SMTP. Am I missing something? Just implementing a new cluster and I've ran foundation with NOS4.5.1.2 and ESX 6. The ESXi hosts have not yet been connected to vCenter. One of the post image steps is to set the correct time zone for the cluster. It says that each CVM needs to be shutdown in Serial. Is this a simple case of connecting to a each ESXi host and shutting down the CVM, Power it back on, connect to the CVM, via http://cvmip to check that it is up, then move on to the next ESXi host and repeat? Detailed information for disk_usage_check: Node xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx WARN: /home usage at 84% (greater than threshold, 80%) Refer to KB 1523 (http://portal.nutanix.com/kb/1523) for details on disk_usage_check I checked that node into CVM. I deleted the download file used for the upgrade, but it is still 82%, but I do not know what to clean up. I want to know the solution. Or should I open the case? I wonder. Please ask for advice. In other words, buttons or options without relevant functions. The Official Handbook is inquired. The description in this respect is very crude. It has not helped me. can i consult login via SSH terminate the download，Or what other effective ways? by the way,Technical support for the community is too bad to use at all.

Hello Guys,As far as I know AFS not supported in a Hyper - v environment, but when I look at software updates I see that there is an option to install AFS, out of curiosity I have installed the same and it even gives an option configure Network & IP for the AFS? My question is, would is really work in hyper-v 212 environment?

My issue is related to installing the Direct Access role on a AHV VM running server 2016. Here is my environment. AOS: 5.6 Hypervisor: Nutanix 20170830.115 Windows OS: Server 2016 VirtIO Drivers 1.1.2 Server Imaged with SCCM I've deployed many Direct Access servers in the past and I am seeing very unique issues with trying to configure it on AHV for the first time. 1.) After configuring the role, the Tunnel adapter 6TO4 is NOT created 2.)After configuring the role, the Tunnel adapter IPHTTPSInterface is NOT created 3.)After configuring the role, the server fails to retrieve gpudpates 4.) Upon rebooting the server, the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service fails to start. However, if I deploy the EXACT same server image on a VMware VM, it works perfectly. Is there a known issue when deploying the DirectAccess role on a AHV(KVM) VM?

Hi, Im currently looking into a 3-node Cluster layout with NX-1155 hosts and PRO license as Remote Site for DR. I would like to go for 3 nodes instead of a single node configuration because it can withstand block/node failures. But Im trying to keep it low on the price scale. The one thing that keeps bothering me is that I want to be able to start a few user vms on the Remote Site. I know its possible but 64GB of RAM per host isnt much especially when the CVM blocks at least 24. It has to compete against a 3node CE installation which im not in favour because i would like to have support/production grade software. But I could get hosts that supports more RAM and start more VMs if I need to. What do you think?

Using CALM, it seems the best way to deploy VMs is from a VM image that you add to the Image Configuration store. However, when using Prism Central, it doesn't seem this is possible with ACLI to create an image from an AHV VM. How are people taking an AHV VM in PC inventory and making an image out of it so that you can add it to the image configuration repository? Thanks!

I recently upgraded my three clusters to AOS 5.5.06, AHV 20170830.94, and Prism Central 5.5 I noticed that after this upgrade, the ability to update the VM running Prism Central is now greyed out, as is the Power Off Actions. My instance of Prism Central has 16GiB of memory and is running at 96%+ memory usage. I'd sure like to increase its memory and reboot it via the proper procedure. I SSH'd into the VM and ran top to see the big memory users and the 'insights_server' and a few 'java' tasks are consuming over 10% each. Has doc been created on troubleshooting PC 5.5 VM issues?

After a failed upgrade that resulted in a failed node, we reinstalled the node and added it as a remote site so we could migrate to it and reinstall the other nodes. When I added the site on the old cluster it works as expected, but on the reinstalled node I cant add any vStore Mappings and are instead greeted with this message "Remote Datastores are either not configured or not accessible." When I run [i]ncli> remote-site list[/i] on the reinstalled node I get: Status : unreachable and on the old cluster: Status : relationship established Is there any log output/command that could help me troubleshoot this further?

We are using Nutanix ( AOS 5.5.0.6) with AHV-Hypervisor. Connecting to a VM(W2K12,W2K8, German) via Prim & VNC-Console there is no possibility to change Keyboard-Layout. Our Computers are on Win7 - German with German QWERTZ - Keyboard Layout. No matter which Browser we are using (IE11, Chrome, Firefox) we can not type special characters like \ / . We also tried the American Key for / \ without success. Is there a posibility to fix this Problem? Or is it a Bug ? Looking forward to hear your comments: F.Hil

Hi Can anyone tell me what is the difference between the controller IOPS and disk IOPS? is controller IOPS all the traffic from VMs goign through CVMs and disk includes some other stuff none-VM related? I don't understand how some time Controller IOPs is higher than disks and some times it's the opposite. Thanks
