Hi We currently use Files and I have created an SMB share. The share is setup to store disaster recovery information in the event a production failure. We use Data protection to replicate the share to another Nutanix cluster at another site.We want the ability to access this share in the event that our Active Directory isn’t available. I was looking for a location either in PE or PC where I could create local accounts and assign them as a user to this share but have been unable to find.Is this possible to do? Thanks

Hi,Is it possible to install X-Ray machine in a host outside of Nutanix Cluster nodes?

Just curious if there is going to be an update to the Move API documentation to explain how we can create a migration plan from ESX to AHV. Currently the only example shown is for AWS to AHV and when we try to substitute that payload with values from ESX it fails. Create plan example is here:http://{{ move-ip-address }}:8082/#/v2api/plans/createplan We’ve tried using this same template to create a plan for ESX, but it seems to choke on the network identification section with a return code of {'ApiVersion': '2.0.0', 'Code': 20512, 'Message': "Invalid Network Mapping for VM 'NX-TEST'. Hi guys, I'm somewhat new to Nutanix and I was curious if there was a powershell command that will allow you to set the project for a VM. Essentially I want to use scripts to deploy VM's and then when the VM is deployed move it into a project so we can track resources. The deployment part of this is easy enough, but nothing in powershell seems to indicate it can even do this. Is this something that can even be done? I really like the powershell integration, and I really like the SSP Prism Central and Projects. I'd really really like to be able to use both of these together. Thanks

Is there a KB or documentation providing the JSON format and any additional things that may be coded in? For example, in going through the install.nutanix.com portal to generate the JSON file it doesn't ask for NTP server of the hypervisor. In looking at the file, though, there's this line: "hypervisor_nameserver": "8.8.8.8", I'd like to have our Nutanix deployments in code as much as possible (right now we're looking to various scripts for vSphere configurations). Being able to configure as much as possible up front and possibly make this a template for future deployments.

I'm running 3 node cluster, based on 5.10 version (2019-02-11) There are some alerts for each node: [list] [*]Detected Incompatible AHV Version [*]Detected older AHV Version [/list]I've checked the Settings-Upgrade menu - there it nothing available to upgrade for AHV and AOS.

How do clean old Prism Alerts.  Within Webconsole Resolve and Acknowlege doesnt clean old alerts.  Any command would helpful.  Thanks,

We’re in the process of testing Veeam for AHV on our NTNX running AOS 5.10.  So far with Windows issues we have had very few issues and we worked them out quickly.   However with a Linux VM running Ubuntu we’re getting errors on the Nutanix where the snapshot is checking for pre-freeze and post-thaw scripts.  We’ve attempted a variety of ways to get those scripts in place, but it seems that there is no clear path.   Does anyone else have experience with Veeam for AHV and backing up Linux VMs? Does anyone have any info on setting up the pre-freeze and post-thaw scripts?  While we have some experience with this on Linux we’re certainly not experts. 

Hi, We have several Hyper-V servers. We intend to implement Nutanix to replace those Hyper-V servers. We have been given Nutanix Collector win32 v2 to run collecting the information of the Hyper-V servers to estimate what Nutanix to buy. However, I don't know how to run it. Has any one run this before ? Is there any guide document ? Thank you very much for your help.

I have been trying to create a Windows Server VM. whenever I create the VM I can't see a drive where I can install the windows server. has anyone else experienced this?

We have a dozen or so VMs/appliances that do not support AHV and thus cannot be migrated over to our new AHV cluster that runs 95% of our servers. We would like to expose a container/Volume Group from Nutanix to the VMware hosts as NFS datastores to build these VMs/Appliances on. Our goal is to then replicate that Container/Volume Group to our DR Nutanix cluster and then connect our DR VMware cluster for the same VMs/Appliances to then use as well incase of failover. We have gotten conflicting information from all parties and wanted to know if anyone was already doing this and what your results are? These VMs/Appliances would have fairly high IO.

How can I migrate one or more server's inside Hyper-V Manager (Everything inside one server) to Nutanix VM Server. What are the steps or tools need to use?

Hi. I am fairly new to scripting especially with Nutanix. I can do Powershell scripting just fine but making the conversion to shell scripts has my brain in a knot. I have some acli commands to create a new vm, create a new Disk and a new NIC but I was unsure how to run them as an executable from my Windows desktop. Our cluster is Nutanix AHV. So I run this from a command line to open putty and connect. It works fine without the script. putty.exe -ssh admin@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -pw ****** -m "C:\newVM.sh" The script is: acli; #creates a clone of Server2016 #vm.clone aTest clone_from_vm="Server2016RefImage" memory=8G num_cores_per_vcpu=2 num_vcpus=2; #creates a D drive # vm.disk_create aTest bus=scsi create_size=200G index=1 container="Container-1"; #Add a NIC #vm.nic_create aTest connected=true network="Vlan6"; Each line will run fine if I run it in putty but I am not sure if I am stringing the commands together correctly. How to list Prism Central servers that belongs only to certain project. For example list only those Vm's that belongs to project "default". "Powerstate" expression name is "powerstate" but what is corresponding name of "project" which I should use to call "project" name? After having the CVMs down for some cluster maintenance \ VLAN ID changes, everything is back up but after running an NCC check the first check, CVM reboot check, failed. Is this something to be concerned about? What is actually being checked with this?

Dear Friends, I am trying to find out VMs to Storage Container relations using Nutanix REST APIs but not able to get. I have tried both V2.0 and V3 APIs. In 'vms/list' v3 API, we do get "disk_list" for each VM but I do not see these vDisks in 'vdisk' or virtual_disks APIs (v2). Also there is no reference to Storage_Containers in 'vms/list' output so it is difficult for me to find the correlation. Please help.
