nos-alerts

We had an issue last evening where one of our nodes decided to take a dive. (Uncorrectable memory in one of the DIMMs).

Anyways, I happened to check my email this morning and was like wonderful. So I hopped on to check things out. Turns out the node is indeed unable to boot. So, opened a case. A speedy response - yay!

However, I am wondering what type of alerts that are automatically sent to nos-alerts trigger a support case? One would think that a node down and the cluster in HA state would trigger a support case… so I checked the postfix logs and see that an email was sent when everything occurred last evening… which leads me to ask, “What exactly will trigger an alert on the support end if this particular issue didn’t?”

Thanks for any insight. Loving Nutanix so far.
