The following document states that the CVM will be Redirected to another CVM after 30 seconds of inactivity.

What response does the cluster request from Stargate?

I want to know the details that the cluster requests to Stargate for 30 seconds.

Hi @DaeGil

Stargate is the聽Data I/O manager

路聽聽A distributed system that presents storage to other systems (such as a hypervisor) needs a unified component for receiving and processing data that it receives. The Nutanix cluster has a large software component called Stargate that manages this responsibility.

路聽聽From the perspective of the hypervisor, Stargate is the main point of contact for the Nutanix cluster. All read and write requests are sent across vSwitchNutanix to the Stargate process running on that node.

路聽聽Stargate depends on Medusa to gather metadata and Zeus to gather cluster configuration data.

路聽聽Stargate is responsible for all data management and I/O operations and is the main interface from the hypervisor (via NFS, iSCSI, or SMB).聽 This service runs on every node in the cluster in order to serve localized I/O.

If the stargate on any of the CVMs becomes unavailable for more than 30 sec, the control gets transferred to another CVM to avoid downtime.

Hope this helps
