Hello,Prism Central documentation supports OpenLDAP 2.4 release running on CentOS distributions only.Question ....I take it that Red Hat LDAP is not supported in Prism Central, correct? Can I only use OpenLDAP 2.4 with CentOS and cannot use OpenLDAP 2.5.13 (LTS) with CentOS?In Prism Self Service (Calm) documentation I find reference to Active Directory.Question ...In Calm can I work with OpenLDAP or only with Microsoft Active Directory? In a cluster with Prism Central + Prism Self Service (Calm) do I have to implement Microsoft Active Director only?
Hello all! I hope everyone has had a wonderful start to the new year and a wonderful holiday season as well. I am running into the following error (shown in reply) when trying to deploy a new prism central instance I have tried to google around and also looking at various support topics and forums, but I have had no luck finding anything relating to what causes this. I have renewed the SSL certificate in the settings menu, but that did nothing for me. any help or guidance on where to find more information will be very much appreciated. As always, thank you for your time.

I am wanting to create a role where system application owners can login and only see their VMs. I have a role setup that will let them see their VMs based on a category. The permissions for that role are below.Access Console VMUpdate ClusterUpdate VM Power StateView ClusterView VMView VM Recovery PointThe users can see their VMs, open console, and can power off/on their VMs. They don’t see the recovery points which is what I wanted for them to see. Is there any permission that I need to give this role that is tied to the View VM Recovery Point action?Screen shot of permission for roleScreen shot of user logged into PC assigned to the RoleScreen shot of VM details with no Recovery Point tab showing
I’ve recently upgraded to Calm 3.5.0 and now all the ‘shell script execution has failed with error eof’ Has anyone ran across this before?Thanks,-Joe
Implemented the Calm v2.0 API, have to retrieve the usage_stats(used and free space) of the virtual machine’s disks by using calm v2.0 API. Haven’t found usage_stats in the response for the API api/nutanix/v2.0//virtual_disks/{uuid}. Is there any other way to get these stats by using calm v2 or v1 but not v3.
Hello, I stumbled upon a very weird problem and I am not able to sort it out myself.I have a pretty fresh Cluster running AHV which is for our Lab.I installed a Server 2022 DC - all fine. I installed a second one - all good.I created the Active Directory on the first one, edited IP-Settings on both machines including DNS and everything and tried to join the other Server as a second Domain Controller. That is where I got stuck. It wasn’t able to join the Domain. On the Error Page it said it was able to find the Domain but wether A-Records are not correct or the Server is noch reachable.Ping and nslookup works just fine though. I tried a day testing everything that was coming to my mind and after some while I tried to eliminate as much factors as possible. So I migrated both Servers to the same Node to eliminate networking issues - and this does the trick. When I want to domain join another Server from another Node it does not work anymore, as soon as it is on the same, it does.I then tr
How can I download Snapshot files from Prism or via SSH?I’m trying to follow this tutorial Nutanix Files - Deleting internal snapshots (SSR and CFT snapshots (as to find out where the snapshots are) but I’m encountering an error when I try to run the command “afs info.nvmips” I’m receiving “Failed to get FileServerVms”. Can you please help?

I am passing this payload to to filter a VM. It works if the VM name is an exact match (case sensitive). How Do I make the following filter case insensitive ?payload = {"kind":"vm", "filter": "vm_name=={0}".format(vmName)} I tried different combination’s, but none worked. Thanks in Advance Yezdi
Hello, masters of NutanixCould you help a beginner in trouble? I took an internal snapshot to prepare for a problem moving nodes from an existing cluster to another cluster The previous one was done well, and the snapshot was about 1.8gb, but I found that even though I deleted the snapshot, I still had about 1tb of capacity leftI got a response that the curation will work and the capacity will be back in 36 hoursBut the capacity remains the sameWhich part should I check? I'd appreciate it if you could give me a command or a solutionThe customer is dissatisfied with the capacity of 1tb and wants to resolve it Help me, please. Customer is using AOS 5.20.3.5 / ESXI 7.0 u2a / NX-3060-G4 Pic1 - Capacity before increasing nodes Pic2 - Capacity after node is increased
Hello, good afternoon, We are doing space scrubbing, saw a VM and scrubbed approx. 4Tb, more than 48 hours have passed and in prism it continues to reflect space.Does anyone know what is happening, we saw that the Curator has been executed successfully.
PRISM is installed as appliance however, the is OS layer within it. Do we need to introduce any security software for OS layer or Nutanix itself has any security functions?During the audit they were pointed out by auditor if it is okay to do nothing for PRISM appliance in terms of security.
Hi,In the prism UI, we have an option to check the resilient capacity of the cluster (the amount of logical storage that can be used, beyond which the cluster will lose self-healing capability). I would like to know, if we have an option to get the same value via any nCLI command or API.Thanks,Arun
Hi, I found ‘recovery_plan_jobs’ subject from rest api explorer. There is a ‘POST’ action look like allow us to ‘cleanup’ and ‘rerun’ the job. Yo! I’m trying to figure out how the filter works on Prism Central V3 REST API.In this scenario, I’m trying to filtering on VM UUID, but can’t find the right argument for this.I tried this, and it doesn't work..filter = "vm_uuid==9b174662-66a1-4f9a-8cc9-788ab242ffa1" I know I can filtering on VM Name, but not useable in my case.. Best Regards,Daniel Orelius

Hello, I am at the latest and greatest of PC (2022.04.0.1) and trying to run a new capacity planning scenario, I am met with the immediate error: RPC error kTransportError raised I have restarted PC, manually restarted some services, etc. and I am unable to get past it to actually create a new scenario so I was curious if this is a known issue or if anyone has hit it before. There is one old thread that talks about upgrading PC to resolve it, but I am at the latest currently. Any thoughts welcomed. Thanks!

Hi all,I’m running a single node cluster, and while I was poking around the settings I went into the Rack Configuration page and set the fault tolerance level to node.Of course with it being a single node cluster the dashboard now shows warnings that the cluster can’t self-heal from a node failure.I’m not able to find an option to change the desired fault domain back down to disk, I can’t find any commands that do anything other than get what it is currently.Obviously my particular desire to lower the fault tolerance domain below node isn’t something that’s an intended use for this software; but is there really no way to change these settings configuration outside of prism?
I have installed cluster with 2 blocks (3 nodes each) and assigning IPs to them, I used a switch without vlans, when I created vlans and connect my switch to firewall, I was unable to open the prism in the browser (chrome, firefox), but I can reach the cvm and I can SSH it through putty.
