How to view the history of vm migrations

Hi How can I view the history of vm migrations. We had business impakt on an application, that apparently is so sensitive that a migration between nodes in the same cluster caused a split brain situation according to the supplier. However I want to see if that particular vm was migrated in that timeframe the supplier indicated. Can someone provide me this troubleshoot procedure?

Security Testing on Nutanix - Seeking Guidance

Hello Nutanix Community, As part of our ongoing migration to the Nutanix environment, we are planning to conduct a penetration test and other security assessments to ensure that our infrastructure is secure. 6.10 Table View

Hello, I need to manage my 6.10 Nutanix cluster by sorting powered on/off.Additionally I can only see 10 VMs at a time.I’m not seeing the ability to add columns nor the ability to increase the table count.Would someone please provide this information?

Powershell - Trying To Get Cluster MEMORY UTILIZATION

First time posting... PRISM Central Version 2024.2PowerShell 7.4.6 1. Was able to load Nutanix.Prism.PS.Cmds and connect to a Cluster (via Uuid), but gave up on trying to extract MEMORY statistics. (Get-ClusterStats as well as Get-VMStats are not recognized.) 2. Now trying REST method, which is a first also. The following code did display the Clusters but showed 0 for all MEMORY values. Can a guest VM´s ownership be changed after creation?

All existing guest VMs created in AHV have admin as the owner except one as in the screenshot, Is there an available way to change that ownership to admin? Thanks for your answers in advance

Suggested steps for node to decommiction for G5 and add G9

Hi All, I would like to ask for your advice on the plan to replace the M5 node, there are three nodes of nx-1065 M5 and one node of nx-1175s M7 and one node of nx-1175s-M8 , all AOS version are 6.5.3.6 and ESXi are 7.0u3, we have purchased 3 nodes of nx-1175s G9 this time. May I ask: Option 1: Since G5 can only be compatible with up to three generations (G5 -G8?), we need to retire G5. Instead, we need to add another G7 or G8 node to the existing cluster, and then decommiction three more G5 devices before adding G9 to the cluster. Although this process is cumbersome, the capacity is added to the same cluster, but there is a question: can G9 install AOS 6.5.3.6? Another option is to create a new cluster (AOS 6.10) with three G9s and add them to the existing vcenter 7.0U3. Then, turn on EVC to gradually migrade the VMs over, and then decommiction the original G7 and G8 before adding them to the G9 cluster. This method is relatively simple, but it requires moving approximately 6-70 VMs to

Missing vendors from sizer

Hello guys, I’m trying to create a config for a customer but it seems that the sizer doesn’t include Lenovo as possible hardware platform. I know this is wrong since Lenovo sells the HX servers that come with AHV pre-installed. How can I solve this? Thanks for your kind help. Alberto

Create vm from Template using Powershell

I’m somewhat disappointed in the product, , trying to create a VM from a template using Powershell. Modules are installed and we’re of to a flying start with this: Import-Module Nutanix.Cli Import-Module Nutanix.Prism.PS.Cmds -Prefix NTNX Import-Module Nutanix.Prism.Common -Prefix NTNX Connect-PrismCentral -Server $PrismServer -Credential $cred -ForcedConnection -AcceptInvalidSSLCerts After this we’re in strife. Even the simple example below (from https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=PS-Cmdlets-AOS-v6_8:cmd-ps-VM-auto-r.html) does not work: New-VM -Name testvm1 -ClusterName poc-cluster -NumVcpus 1 -MemoryMb 500 Results in this: Task(s) bf18c5bc-6588-4f49-8914-3ad5da414b27 failed due to Failed to call REST endpoint from Prism Central : cluster not reachable. The cluster is reachable (on the same subnet), port 9440 is open and responding. Any ideas?

Hardware Requirements for AHV Metro Availability

We would like to have written information from Nutanix on what traffic/processes required in 3rd site as witness and Prism Central for sizing purpose. The diagram of the Witness and PE Sites https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Disaster-Recovery-DRaaS-Guide-vpc_2024_1:ecd-ecdr-witness-syncrep-pc-c.html Customer queried several times on the lowest requirements on setting up the 3rd site witness which customer believe witness functionality should be with minimum hardware requirements unlike the URL provided. Nutanix on VMware Workstaion

I am just starting to follow Nutanix University courses to learn Nutanix. My background in virtualisation is VMware. Last year I had to write designs to build a platform for VMware Horizon and to learn that I build a Horizon Platform on VMware Workstation. To do that I was lucky enough to find blogs that provided full instructions to do this on Workstation. The instructions even set up AD domain. Is there anybody out there who has found a similar set of instructions to follow to build a Nutanix Test lab. With a Block platform, and the required associated infrastructure ? Upgraded Prism Central and warp drive has gone! Can we have it back? Please!!??

Hello, Just upgraded our Prism Central to pc.2023.4.0.2 and the new login screen is sooooo boring, my colleagues tell me. They want the feature to engage the warp drive back. Just a thought. As you can tell, it’s a quiet Monday afternoon here. Would be grateful if Nutanix would look to re-instating it in a later release. Thank goodness 2048 hasn’t been retired, or I’d have a riot in the building..

Cannot upload Prism central binary file with the message "Upload file size limit is 10 GiB"

I would like to deploy pc.2024.1.0.1 from the Prism Element. But the following message appeared and failed. "Upload file size limit is 10 GiB" What should I do the next? AOS:6.5.1.8
