Nutanix Cloud Manager

We normally keep a handful of template VM’s with different type of OS that are updated and “ready to go” and use these for global automation when deploying new machines. I would like a way to deploy these templates as qcow2 images globally using the Prism Central image management. After a template VM are updated, I would like to automate them beeing converted to qcow2 images (already got this working with “qemu-img convert” command) and then import the qcow2 image to the Image repository in Prism Central to be distributed to all sites. The last step I have not managed to figure out how to do. Obviously I need some kind of API or CLI to automate this but all I find is how to do this using the GUI in PC. Did I miss something? 

While some users might prefer the GUI (Prism Element) to keep tabs on an LCM upgrade, others might prefer the command line interface (CLI) method. Since LCM is a more GUI based product, it was not easy to track the status of an upgrade without skimming through the logs.However, starting in LCM 2.2, a command line utility was introduced to monitor the progress of an LCM upgrade. So, does anyone know a way of getting information on what error codes mean what? Like a KB or something of error codes?

I receive the following error when trying to use a public signed cert in Prism Central:Unsupported signature algorithm detected on one or more certificates in CA chain. Please refer to the FIPS 140-2 documentation for more information. I did the same for Prism Element a few days ago and that went fine. Followed the exact same steps (minus the FQDN of course) for Central but this throws an error. What's the difference between the 2?

Hi Can anyone tell me what is the difference between the controller IOPS and disk IOPS? is controller IOPS all the traffic from VMs goign through CVMs and disk includes some other stuff none-VM related? I don't understand how some time Controller IOPs is higher than disks and some times it's the opposite. Thanks

HI, recently someone upgraded a VM in our Nutanix cluster without documenting it. I know when it happened from the Tasks view in Prism. I need to konw if there is a log of who has logged into Prism to correlate but can’t seem to find this. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello, I'm curious if anyone else has had issue getting Windows authentication with WS-man setup within CALM for the Login Check and remote execution of scripts. I have followed the docs and redone the setup a few times for validation, but the login check still fails with a vague error that just says to check out WINRM troubleshooting help. Prism Central allows you to configure syslog monitoring which forwards system logs(API Audit, Audit and Flow logs) from the registered clusters to an external syslog server   There are some consideration we need to be aware of:   As the logs are forwarded form Controller VM(CVM). Hello, I stumbled upon a very weird problem and I am not able to sort it out myself.I have a pretty fresh Cluster running AHV which is for our Lab.I installed a Server 2022 DC - all fine. I installed a second one - all good.I created the Active Directory on the first one, edited IP-Settings on both machines including DNS and everything and tried to join the other Server as a second Domain Controller. That is where I got stuck. It wasn’t able to join the Domain. On the Error Page it said it was able to find the Domain but wether A-Records are not correct or the Server is noch reachable.Ping and nslookup works just fine though. I tried a day testing everything that was coming to my mind and after some while I tried to eliminate as much factors as possible. So I migrated both Servers to the same Node to eliminate networking issues - and this does the trick. When I want to domain join another Server from another Node it does not work anymore, as

We've setup Prism Central long time ago and everything works in the Prism Central since it's Active Directory Integrated. We can also login using the Admin account in the Portal. How can we change the Prsim Central CVM Password if we no longer can access it.

Should you ever have a need to extract affinity rules settings via command line there are aCLI commands to achieve the task.   Additionally, in AOS releases older than 5.10.8, 5.11.2 when VM affinity is removed via Prism task may complete successfully, but affinity can still remain set.   This may happen when the following conditions are met: AOS release older than 5.10.8, 5.11.2. Action is initiated from Prism. VM affinity is removed from all nodes.

Hello Community, I'm involved in a PreSales action. The customer asks for information regarding deletion of user data from Audit Logs. Is it possible to delete user information from audit logs? I have installed Prism Cental 4.6.0.1 and Acropolis 4.6.0.1. Now I tried to register my Nutanix Cluster to Prism Central. I entered the admin credentials in the registration form. But I got an error "Failed to register to Prism Central: HTTP 403 forbidden". Any hints? best regards, arno
