New cluster, foundation question

Hey

I’m trying to install a new cluster with 8 nodes, but on the Nodes fane in Nutanix Foundation I can only choose A,B,C and D.

How do I select the remaining 4 hosts?

Using Nutanix Foundation v5.7.1 on Windows

Hi Mads,

The node placement A-D is if you have Nutanix hardware blocks where there’s 4 nodes per block.

If you have rack/blade servers then they will all be ‘A’ regardless of their number.

What hardware do you have?

Thanks,

Kim

Hey Kim,

Ah okay, I’m having 8x Dell XC Core XC760 (rack servers).

So I will just select A for all of them.

It was a bit confusing, as there is no info text when mouseover of the Node column.

Thanks

Hey Mads,

Yep that’s right, it stems from the early days where it was more common to have nodes in a block.

Good luck :)
