We are currently evaluating Nutanix and also HYCU for backup. So far HYCU looks really good running on my CE lab server but there is one issue that they cannot answer to. For file restores on older recovery points (past the "Fast Restore" point), HYCU must copy the entire VM from the storage target and mount it to even start the search for a file. While for small VM's this my not be a big deal, larger VM's would cause a wait time based on your network connection to the storage target. For anyone using HYCU is this a concern to you? I'm very interested in hearing real world feed back here. Thanks!

Hi all.I’m trying to get my Calm decision tasks to do what I want but I’m getting nowhere fast. :/How can I get a decision task to choose either ‘True’ or ‘False’ at the end of execution? Thanks!

I am unable to change my name after redirection to the PSI for exam registration but i have already changed my name in the nutanixuniversity profile. I have already sent an request to PSI via online form but no response. Appreciated if you could let me know how to change my full name in the system so that could match my name in government-issued ID for exam registration. Thanks very much.

Hi Everyone,I want to know what nutanix version can do replication or leap recovery plan with volume group (iscsi)? I currently use the CE version for testing ,my Nutanix CE and PC version are NUTANIX 20190916.276.I'm testing the iSCSI space of volume group mounted on Windows Server, then execute the plan of leap failure. However, after my windows server fails to DR, there is no iSCSI space on the windows server, and I do not see that the volume group is sync to DR.Is there a problem with my configuration, or is the CE version not supported at present?Has anyone ever done this test? Thanks.

These days I’m managing, for one of customer, the migration of its virtual infrastructure to a Nutanix AHV farm from an old ESXi. It has some old VMs, with Windows XP as guest OS, that have to be migrated in Nutanix. Those VMs have installed custom software that cannot be installed in newer versions of Windows because they have been written in old VB6, so my question are:Can they be migrated over AHV? If yes, can I manage the migration with Nutanix Move or there is another way?

I gave this exam and was told that results would be sent over email, I haven’t received the results yet, can anyone guide me here?

hello Everyone , Is there  are any NCP v5.15 Discount codes for public users? Thanks

Hi All,Just after some advice.  I’ve run the default ‘Four Corners Microbenchmark’ against 2 x identical All Flash clusters and I get very different results and not sure why.The average random read IOPS differ by around 60k, and the random write IOPS around 10k. I know running the test on both clusters will not provide an exact match, but these results appear very different.  Please note these are both 2-node clusters, both are identical in specification so not sure if this matters.I also get the same on 2 x identical 6-node Hybrid arrays, random read IOPS differ by 200k and random write IOPS by 40k!The same X-Ray appliance was used on all clusters, using the default settings in the test itself.Just after a possible explanation to these queries, if somebody could be so helpful. Thanks very much.

Just curious how other users running AHV plan their ad disaster recovery?  AHV does not support VM-Generation ID so it looks like the most straight forward method not including additional software would be to use the builtin server backup to backup and restore at least the server with the fsmo role.  I wonder what happens in a protection domain scenario especially if there are multiple servers.  Seems like there could be usn rollbacks issues.  Any input on how others are doing it would be appreciated since the documentation seems to be scarce for AHV.

Hi, I am always taken care. I use CloudConnect by VPN connection to AWS and enable NW compression.Everyday repeat that.Since 1 year ago, All PDs are failed. below the message on Prism ;---Replication was skipped for protection domain XXXX of snapshot (X,X,X) to remote site XXX. Replication was skipped as a newer snapshot was available.---I executed cli on CVM, replication statuses are “Sending” .---$ncli pd list-replication-status Replication Operation     : Sending And I did “Test Connection” on Prism was “OK”. What do you think this reason? Sincerely,

Hi,I am always taken care.I'll upgrade Hyper-V 2012R2 to 2016 on XC630 so I have some questions.・metadata(json) download from Nutanix Portal. Can I do that Hypervisor ISO file there ?・What difference are metadata(json)  each ? ・Use Hypervisor ISO file of Evaluation version, is it OK?・ISO's language adapt any languages? or English only? Sincerely,

I am looking to replace my SSL certificates on my Prism Central and Prism Element deployments with Lets Encrypt wildcard certificates. I can request the wildcard certificates easily enough sudo certbot -d example.com -d *.example.com --manual --preferred-challenges dns-01 --server https://acme-v02.api.letsencrypt.org/directory certonly I get generated three files: privkey = /etc/letsencrypt/live/example.com/privkey.pem chain = /etc/letsencrypt/live/example.com/chain.pem fullchain = /etc/letsencrypt/live/example.com/fullchain.pem Can anyone advise what openssl commands I can use to convert these .pem files to the required format needed for Prism Central/Prism Element? I have attempted multiple commands from https://www.sslsupportdesk.com/openssl-commands/ but I can't seem to find the exact one. I can also grab the intermediate/root certificates from here if I need additional certs. https://letsencrypt.org/certificates/ I'm looking to ultimately find a way to scrip

I created a Project in Prism Central and assigned a bunch of users to it, expecting them to be able to provision their own VMs with cloud-init configs customised to their liking.I found this awesome example code https://www.nutanix.dev/code_samples/create-linux-vm-customised-with-cloud-init/ which shows it can be done with API calls, however, as a user in the Project, there does not seem to be any options in the PC UI that allow me to specify a custom script when creating a VM.Are custom scripts deliberately hidden when using Projects? How are my users supposed to customise their VMs?

I’m looking for a way to expand storage a 6-node VMware cluster (ESX 6.7 U3), adding one or more Storage-only node could be an option. But, as I know, Storage-only nodes come with AHV, so I’d like to understand how I could add those nodes to the existing cluster.Trying to picture the idea, I'm assuming that SO nodes would work as new storage pool and cannot be expanded the existing one, am I right? I'm looking for documentation that give me some direction about the idea I have in mind.Any idea about this?

Hi,I use vSphere6.0 U3 on NX series and set AsyncDR replication to AWS.Some protection domain’s AsyncDR are errorred after VCSA has broken and re-deploy.Are AsyncDR and vCenter  depend on each ?Sincerely,

When trying to move from esxi to AHV of a VM with OS Debian 10, I get an error This VM is not on the AHV supported OS list. To proceed with migrating this VM, please be sure to bypass guest operations and take care of installing AHV device drivers separately. This VM has a guest OS which is not supported on ESXi. Please remove the vm from the migration plan if migrating to ESXi. Is it OS not supported?

My nutanix ce cluster aos version is 5.18, And configure smtp server has some issues.cvm network is ok !

Hello All,I have successfully installed Prism Central and it has been working well. I have configured a “view” under the focus button in the vm’s menu; however, this setting will not stay once I log out and back in. Currently the process is once I log back in I need to click on focus and pick my view. Is there a way to make that my default view? Maybe tie the view to my user account? I have included and image below to help.  Thanks,Scott

Hello,Can I please get an explenation of the different commands? Cheers!
