Hi.I’ve been trying to find out if I can use X-Ray to test other platforms (VMware and Hyper-V) or if I need to export the test (the “Four corners” in my case) and then use Curie to test the other platforms.There isn’t a lot of information on X-Ray and other platforms to be found though.Thanks.

Hi, Im planning to add 2 more blocks NX-3060-G6 with 2 nodes on each block. Currently i have 2 Block Nutanix NX-3060-G6 with 2 Nodes on each block.Current topology is 2 Block nutanix connected to Cisco 2960X with all eth interfaces connected to it. My question is, In NX-3060-G6 there are 3 Ethernet interfaces, 1 for MGMT (IPMI) and there are other 2 eth interfaces and 2 SFP+. For networking purpose,Do we need to use those 2 eth interfaces from each node in order to work? Or do we need to use only 1 eth interface only on each node? We’re adding 1 more switch Juniper EX4600, so if we need to use those 2 eth interfaces, can we separate them? 1 Eth interface to Cisco 2960X and the other goes to EX4600? Can i have different VLAN on each interfaces (exclude MGMT) that i connect to switch?Sorry if my question isn’t clear enough. But i hope you do understand it. Hi All, Does anyone know if it’s possible to pass variables into the ‘Custom Script’ / cloud-init section, when creating a VM in AHV via Prism Element?Ideally, I’d like to use the REST API to create (clone) a VM from a template, and pass a ‘Custom Script’ perhaps from an ADSF path, that is able to configure the guest’s Hostname / FQDN based off the VM’s name specified in the REST API call.IPAM and some basic cloud-init config is working, just trying to determine the best way to set the hostname!

Whenever I take snapshots from Prism Central it shows under Recovery point but not under Snapshot. Not sure, if both are same Thing. Also, recovery point give an option to “Replicate” , whereas Snapshot give an option to “Restore”….are both same?

We have added Dell Switches to see the Interface information and where our AHV hosts are connected through Network Tab.But, I am able to see Interface only on One Switch for one host, not on others. I see below. Is there anything we are missing.  

 Our datacenter experienced a power outage yesterday and when power was restored Nutanix powered up and everything was operational (Yay!). I've been attempting to find the setting that told the nodes to power up after an event like that rather than stay powered off. On desktop systems I know the BIOS has settings for power events like that but cannot find it in the IPMI web interface. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? Thanks.

I scheduled my NCP 5.10 using my Nutanix partner voucher. The exam is retired and the system cancelled my exam. I’m trying to find my voucher again to schedule an exam again for NCP 5.15, but unable to find my voucher in my partner portal. Please help

Hi Team, Today I scheduled to write NCP-MCI 5.15 exam through online PSI proctor exam . after verification proof it redirected to another page where only saw "View Camera and Desktop" as there was no "Share Camera and Share Desktop option to press" . my Proctor asked me to refresh to connect since he wasn't see some option after refreshing the live chat session was disconnected and the even page was blank as only was able and tried several times and result was same . so only thought to exit and to connect it back unfortunately was entire was closed and I didn't see any option launch the exam again. Please help to write the exam again.

Hello,i have some questions regarding “Switch stacking”1-) Is it possible to use " 2 stacked switches " as TOR with AHV? there will be a problem if we use this configuration?2-) The best practice is to use 2 Stacked switches or 2 individual switches?We plan to use Active-Backup configuration and conect SFP to Switch1 and the other SFP to Switch2I am not a network specialist so i am not sure if both switches are stacked, and we plug 1 SFP to SW1 and the other SFP to SW2, the active passive configuration will work

Hi, I have one CVM out of space in /home, I have seen that I have the file localhost_access_host.txt with almost 20GB.Could I rotate or delete this file?In another CVM I don’t see this file.Regards,Antonio Maeso

Hello,have you guys ever configure a 4 SFP + Nutanix cluster with AHV? i understand that the 4 SFP + will be configured as active-passive in a same bond... but only 1 SFP should be used. There is a better way to configure network on AHV to improve and use the other SFP+??? i mean, for example, separate the traffic between user VMs and CVM (storage traffic)

While learning AHV I’m a bit confused on a few things as it relates to vStores and Remote Sites. What is the purpose of a vStore and how do they differ from Containers? What are the implications of mapping a Site-A’s vStore (Container-A) to Site-B’s vStore (Container-B) that has running VMs in it? What are the implications of not including all VMs from within Site-A’s Container-A in a Protection Domain and failing-over said PD to Site-B?      - Will the unprotected VMs from Container-A continue to run in Site-A?      - What happens when I fail-back the PD to Site-A? Let’s say I’ve mapped Container-A (Site-A) to Container-B (Site-B). If I create a Protection Domain that contains VMs from Container-A2 (Site-A), how does this factor into my vStore mappings between sites? Thanks for the assist!

Hello all,I’ve just finished the basic installation of a new 3 nodes Nutanix Cluster (NX-1065-G7 node). When i try to enter the IPMI password nothing happens. It seems the password is wrong. I have tried the default ADMIN/ADMIN password but it doesn’t worked (also admin/admin).Did the default password change with the release 5.15.x of AOS ?For information, the cluster has been created with the following parameters : AOS 5.15.2 Foundation VM 4.5.4.1 ESXi 6.7U3The “ipmitool user list” show me an “ADMIN” user with ID 2, so i think the account is correctly created. I ve tried on each of the 3 nodes and it’s still the same. So if the password set is ADMIN by default and is not working, can i safely change it with the ipmitool command ? Thx for your answers :)

Hi all We recently converted one of our environments to AHV/Acropolis from ESX/VCenter. All is well and runs just fine. One of the caveats is, we have a tertiary machine we use in “disaster” type scenarios and with this machine we would use our backup solution to “backup” a VM to and run with VMWare Workstation. As I understand it, Nutanix does not offer a “Workstation” type solution, so I am reaching out to hopefully receive some feedback on what a “new” solution would entail. Could I build a small PC and run Community edition on it? Can communtiy edition run on say an i9/32gb RAM/1TB ssd or does it need N+1 to function? This way I could point my backup solution to the new cluster or have my cluster be aware of a NAS solution and ingest the AHV VM as needed in these type scenarios. Any feedback will help me in the endeavor!

Does anyone have issues when trying to install NGT on a system that previously had it installed? I have tried to uninstall and reinstall to no avail. And trying to install/Upgrade via prism fails.
