Error in API Reference - Python on ntnx_vmm_py_client.AssociateVmCategoriesParams()

Hi i don’t know where to report this(no feedback menu on Redocly), but since people may encounter this issue too, i guess they may land here while searching for a solution. Cluster configuration update with APIv4

Hi there I am trying to patch some settings programmatically, for example the virtual IP of the cluster, but i encounter an interesting issue with the E-Tag mismatch although i am sure it’s right. Category on PCVM

It seems to be the case that no category and value can be applied to the PCVMs. Is that true and if so, will that be altered in the future? If not this causes some unexpected challenge. Thank you

Volume Group resilience

We have a couple of VG’s with 20’ish disks in each, on our 4 node AHV (AOS 6.10.1) cluster. 1 VG is shared with 2 SQL boxes in prd and the other with 2 SQL boxes in our pre environment. I was patching the environment today with a BIOS update so the hosts needed to be restarted for the update to apply, I had a report from our DBA that they lost connection to the shared disks from the SQL boxes. What is the expect behavior for VGs with shared disks when a host is unavailable due to a planned or unplanned outage?

AHV/ PC snapshot

Hi, Hello, Am looking for help on snapshots and reverting to recovery points. Is my PC GUI fully equipped to handle snapshots and restore to snaps? sometimes for some vms it works and it doesn't for for few other vms. as a workaround we were asked to do it via CLI. though this may get fixed in later versions, any RCA on why this happens? am on AHV 6.x version. Are these snapshots work exactly like the snapshots from VMware or is it different?

non_migratable_vm_action what is the difference between block and acpi_shutdown?

Hi,I am confused by information in the prism central infrastructure guide Prism pc.2024.3.1 - Defining Behaviour for Non-migratable VMs (GPU/CPU/PCI/Host Affinity configured VMs) non_migratable_vm_action: By default, this parameter is set to block, which means the non-migratable VMs are shut down when you put a node into maintenance mode. For more information on non-migratable VMs, see Non-Migratable VMs.If you want to automatically shut down such VMs for the duration of the maintenance mode, set this parameter to acpi_shutdown. It seems both settings result in shutting down the VMs. Am I missing something, or is there an error in the documentation? I assumed block would prevent maintenance mode and keep the VMs running. Storage tiering for QLC SSDs

I am considering building a cluster that will use a mix of TLC and QLC NVMe SSDs. I assume that Nutanix will put all of these drives into the SSD-PCIe storage tier and every disk will be a member of the same tier. Since QLC SSDs have lower performance and lower write endurance than their TLC, MLC, and SLC counterparts, it would be advantageous to use storage tiering to encourage cold data to reside on the QLC media and hotter data to reside on the more performant drives. Is there a supported method for this in non-community edition clusters? It would be relatively straightforward to manually change the tier-name for the QLC drives to SSD-SATA, but is that a supported practice?

Not showing VM IP details in nutanix collector.

Hi everyone, anyone face issue, when they run nutanix collector to gather data of PC or PE, but when we open the excel file. we got required data except VM IP details.can anyone resolve this or have any solution to this. without VM IP details, collector is not worth. Please share thought about it.

Legacy ISO images

I have 4 x dell m540 blade servers, running in a VRTX chassis, and would like to install nutanix, I have tried the latest edition and it bombs out with fatal errors before I even get to the installer, does anyone have the legacy isos so I can try this or any ideas why ?, I have even disabled the shared storage and it still bombs out

I'm Korean. English can be a little awkward. I created a communication edition on my virtual device and accessed Prism. But the next day, I deleted the virtual device and tried to access Prism by creating another virtual device again, but I couldn't connect.

Cannot kill a async protection domain migration task running

Hey Nutants, Iam back with the complicated question once again, iam sure this is not straight forward question and not easy to resolve without support, however let me see if I can get any support from this panel. I have started a migration of a vms through a AsyncPD as my AOS version is 6.5.5.5 and cannot do a cross cluster vm migration to with out a PD, this PD has completed its replication 98% and got stuck for 24 hours now. I have attempted multiple times to abort the migration but with no success, please see the screenshot below. Note: I dont want to complete the migration anymore. Deploying VMs from a template using Terraform

Hello everyone, I am trying to deploy VMs from a template by using terraform ( nutanix_deploy_templates_v2 ). I have located the UUID of the template i want to use and terraform plan works with no issues. When I go to apply the changes it errors telling me the template is not located on that server. I have quadruple checked the addresses etc and even had it peer checked so we are happy with the code. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just being dumb? Any help would be appreciated - cheers

UEFI VM Boot Failure and Inaccessible BIOS on AHV

Issue: I can’t get UEFI to work with VMs at all. CE version of AHV on Dell 4 year old hardware - AHV and CVM operational and appear fine. VMs appear to be OK as long as it’s using legacy bios. I can’t get UEFI to boot, black screen of X/f2. I was going to attempt a workaround: Install using legacy and convert to UEFI but I can’t get into the VM bios? Tried F2, DEL, F12 … every F out there and it goes straight to windows. Does anyone have a recommendation? I can take screenshots if that helps
