Howdy,I am trying to envision what this would look like in a Nutanix environment for planning purposes.Currently we have two datacenters. We have one large vcenter cluster (Cisco UCSs, Synchronous Nimbles, Nexus vpc pair, L2 stretch on our own dark fiber (multiple 10gb links)) stretched across both DCs. This allows us to vmotion all VMs from one side to another, take down half our hosts, or even a whole DC without any issues.Thinking what this would look like if we were full Nutanix and AHV I am pretty sure this would not work (1 large cluster as we couldnt take down 1 DC since that would take out half of the hosts\storage). Correct? If so, I am thinking this would require at least a cluster at each DC, and then you metro-availability to uses the real-time sync. Does that sound about right from a high level? Thanks

When I am upgrading AHV below is the error I am getting could you please help how to resolve the issue.
I have a 8 nodes nutanix with vSphere 7 deployed. I’ve created 2 new storage container with compression enabled and map to the nodes. I test to copy the file that i uploaded to the default container to the new storage container presented as NFS datastore...it was very slow. 5GB took 2hrs. Then i tried storage vmotion of a VM reside on the new datastore to another new datastore. A 10GB VM took 20 minutes. If storage vmotion from the default container to new datastore, it fails.
I want to migrate Prism Central VM AHV cluster to ESXi on Nutanix cluster, please suggest the easiest way to migrate with no impact.
The Flow Gateway VM (FGW) for Nutanix Cloud Clusters In Azure(NC2) is the Lynch pin to having a your own Supercloud. The FGW is responsible for all VM traffic going north and south from the Nutanix cluster in Azure. This virtual machine allows outside communication from both cloud and on-premises services to the workloads running on the Azure NC2 Cluster. The Flow Gateway VM connecting Azure and on-prem services to the Nutanix Cluster deployed in Azure.Once Prism Central is automatically deployed from the cluster creation process, the FGW deploys into the same VNET that Prism Central is using. The FGW is a native Azure VM. The VM has two network interface cards(NICs) attached to it, one for internal traffic and one for external traffic. The external NIC where the floating IP's are configured for workloads that may need away outside clients connecting into running workloads on the cluster. The default installation will configure 50 floating IP's on the external NIC. These floating I
I have a question about PD snapshot frequency.Referring to below link, a node with 32-64 TB HDD tier support NearSync and hourly snapshot with specify requirement (e.g. 14vCPU for CVM).Node Configurations for Snapshot or Recovery Point FrequencyIf I have a 64TB HDD nodes with 2 x 12 cores CPU, the CVM will configured with 12vCPU after foundation. Does it means that node not supporting hourly snapshot and NearSync?
I have a question about the “protected VM’s” in VEEAM for Nutanix. In the beginning, we had a problem with a Exchange Server logs. when the backup was complete with VEEAM for Nutanix the Logs from exchange are not truncated. The workaround was to create a new job directly on the VEEAM Server and configure the VSS to truncate the logs. It’s working fine! But the problem now is : the exchange server is in the Group of protected VM. When we try to delete from the protected VM group , the VM comes automatically in the group after 15min. Anyone have an Idea? Because the problem is now we have 2 different backups of the same VM.
One of the biggest changes with Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) on Azure compared to it's AWS counterpart is the requirement for Flow virtual networking. Flow virtual networking provides an overlay in Azure to provide secure communication between multiple tenants you may be hosting on the Nutanix cluster and also provides north and southbound connectivity. North and southbound connectivity is provided through the Flow gateway virtual machine (FVGW). Workloads running on the cluster can either go through a network address translation (NAT) path or a routed path not using a NAT. Which path your virtual machines take in and out of the NC2 Cluster will depend on how other services need to talk to the running virtual machines on NC2.The FVGW Is a native Azure VM that gets deployed when the first cluster is created. The FVGM has both and internal and external network interface cards(NIC). Traffic from your Azure Nutanix cluster is directed towards the FVGM’s Internal NIC And then eventually rou

I have a question I have ONE NX-1365-G5 with like ESXi 6.5, but I don't see the backplane disksat the start of the server I see my lsi3008 SAS card with the disks but not on ESXi any idea?
We are in the process of setting LEAP in our environment. We have a Nutanix three node cluster that contains our Production VM’s. We have another Nutanix three node cluster that is going to be used for DR. Right now this DR cluster doesn’t have any VM’s on it besides the Controller VM’s. Currently the DR cluster is located in the same data center as the Production cluster. Our plan is to move the DR to a different data center. What I’d like to be able to do is setup LEAP and have everything replicate prior to moving the DR cluster to the new datacenter. This would allow the process to replicate over our LAN instead of the WAN. Is it possible to set up LEAP to do replication locally like this and then once we move the DR cluster to the new data center, reconfigure LEAP so that it points to the DR cluster. The DR cluster will also be reassigned new IP addresses once it moves to the new data center.
Hi! I have this problem with my VM backup jobs in Veeam for Nutanix AHV. The backup job can´t find de reference Vm´s Backup snapshots that are used for Veeam Changed Block Tracking (CBT).Thanks.
Hello everyone.I am planning synchronous replication between two sites with AHV, and the prerequisites are not clear in the documentation. I have 960GB SSD disks on the hosts. Apparently the minimum required is 1.2TB but it's not explicit in the documentation. Does anyone know where I can validate this information? Thanks! :)

Hey Guys,Can anyone give the EOL information for version 6.5?In Support portal the EOL information is mentioned as “End of Maintenance and End of Support Life dates for 6.5.Z are based on the Release Date of the next LTS Release that is an Upgrade; these dates will be published at that time.”Is it recommended to upgrade to this version since EOL information is not mentioned?
Hello. I don't think it's a problem with Nutanix, but I want to check it out Have you seen any of these symptoms? So, as shown in the picture, there are two mouse points on the VM screen, so what should we do to solve these symptoms? The symptoms remain the same when the VM is restarted, and the settings have not been changed HX-7520, AOS 5.15.5.1, VM - SUSE 11
Hello Guys, I have a scenario where the current nutanix environment NX-1065-G7 AOS version is 5.20 LTS and AHV version is 20201105.2030 and we are adding new node NX-1065N-G8 to the cluster. As I referred in documentation that the current nutanix environment version is not compatible with G8. Is it possible to image the new node with version 5.20 ?
If I wanted to migrate from VMware ESXi 6.7 (no vCenter) to Nutanix AHV, is it possible to mount my existing VMFS6 formatted datastore into Nutanix, or would I have to move all the data off temporarily, re-create it in Nutanix, and copy it all back again? In other words, do I need to buy another 3TB of storage somewhere to temporarily move my data to while I reconfigure the storage array? :)Sorry if this questions seems simple!
Our PC (we only have the one pc.2022.6) is currently hosted on an ESXi cluster, we also have 2 Nutanix clusters running ESXi as the hypervisor. I’m looking at moving PC to one of the 2 Nutanix clusters, as the host that PC is currently sitting on will be retired soon. What's the best way to go about this?
Try to apply an upgrade from a Windows server 2012 R2 to Windows 2019 using Microsoft ISO image, but always fails to show this message: Has anyone managed to upgrade from Windows server 2012 R2 to Windows server 2019?I would appreciate some help about the subject. Thanks in advance. Manuel.
New to AHV, just installed this week. I have using VMware since version 2.5. Trying to deploy AHV Windows VMs from template and from AHV VMs. On both methods I get guest customization options using sysprep. I have been choosing “Guided Script” and filling out the fields for User Name, Password, Local, and Host Name. I leave the license key blank becasue we have enterpise licesing which is assigned when teh VM is joined to the domain. So far, evertime I have tried the host name does not get updated to match the Host Name I entered for the guided script. Also, in VMware guest customization you put what you want the password to be after sysprep. Fr this one is it asking for the current Administrator User/Password, or one to be updated or created by sysprep?
Hi,I have a VM that the network is not working, so we will make another VM.The problem is that we need one folder storaged in the disk. Can we download this folder?I know that in VMWare you can go to the disk and copy the folder in the Hypervisor. Has Nutnix this function?Best regards,Eneko.
We have a (older) Windows 2012 R2 VM with a OS Disk and a Data Disk (scsi.0 and scsi.1 respectively) running on AHV / AOS 5.20.4.6 LTSThe data disk (scsi.1) was originally created with 4kb allocation unit size (no NTFS disk compression is utilized) and this disk has reached it’s maximum size under NTFS of 16TiB. It’s also 96% full… 😟The custom application is such that mount points won’t work. It was suggested to see if perhaps Acronis Disk Director could safely change the drive’s allocation unit size from 4k to 64k (and preserve the data). To my knowledge formatting a drive is the only way to accomplish allocation unit size changes...Is changing the allocation unit a supported operation?Has anyone successfully made such a change?
Hello Guys, I have a scenario where the current nutanix environment NX-1065-G7 AOS version is 5.20 LTS and AHV version is 20201105.2030 and we are adding new node NX-1065N-G8 to the cluster. My plan is to upgrade foundation and NCC of the cluster to latest version and then image the new node with AOS and AHV version the same as in the current nutanix environment. What are the caution points I need to be aware while configuring the node and adding to the cluster?what are the risk factors involved?
