Hello, I have had no issues building Microsoft Failover clusters using volume groups, vDisks, and MPIO; the procedure is very straightforward. Now I want to clean up a few test configurations and remove unwanted clusters, but I'm not sure of the best approach. How do I: List and remove attachments List and remove vDisks List and remove volume groupsI'm sure it's all in the acli; I'm hoping someone has already written a procedure. Thanks, Scott

Hi, i have been using Foundation 3.0 to reimage 6 new nodes, they are separate in 4 blocks. There are three 6035-G4 and three 6035-C. While using Foundation i have selected to install ESXi 6.0 and the NOS version is 4.5.2 For a weird reason (im new at nutanix) three of them (6035-C) where intalled with AHV and three of them with ESXi 6.0 (6035-G4). Is this an expected behaviour? Regards. Francisco.-

I'm fairly certain this is possible, but going is rough for finding it documented. Let's say I have a remote container setup in a NTX cluster in LA. Can I created protection domains in a NTX cluster in Miami and NewYork and point them both to the remote container in LA? Sort of a many to one type approach in using protection domains and any limits on how many you can point at one? Any documentation anyone's found covering this and docs on where the snaps are stored (I don't see them in the ESXi datastores) and how much data is used from remote snaps. Thanks!

Hi all, finally, after a long POC i'm a new Nutanix customer :D I'm waiting N°2 NX-1365S with 6 nodes and the idea is to create a new vsphere cluster version 6 and migrate the existing VM's from the old vsphere 5.5u2. I've just check the Nutanix support page and i see the latest supported version is 6.0u1a build 3.073.146. This version seems to be affected to CBT issue, is it possible to install the correction patch (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2136854) after the the installation? Or install directly the 6.0u1b? Thanks in advance, and have a good w.end!

When trying to upgrade NOS or NCC I'm getting this error: "Error while executing HTTP REST request: Could not connect to Genesis" The updates have already downloaded. This occurs even if I pick a lower version to upgrade to. I'm going from 4.1.4 to 4.5.1.2 (NOS) and 2.01 to 2.1.4. Any ideas? Is there a service I should restart or something? Thanks! Mike

HI, Actually i am able to create folder using nfs whitelist in the nutanix smb share but not able to see the option for that.Then i came to know that we cannot give permission like that for the folder in the nutanix share.is that true.currently we shared a volume from one vm as share. thanks ritchie

Hi all, Our nutanix has been running for a little bit more than 2 years now. Due to changes in our work environment (and the fact that our 3050 nodes started on NOS 3.5) we decided to use the opportunity to perform a field install, and do the upgrade to nos 4.5. We were getting the BMC error for a little while (since we were on nos 4.x). The reimage proces went perfectly but, and I was sure that during the reimage the BMC firmware should have been update, this was not the case. BMC firmware is still version 1.87. NCC is giving us warnings about that. I searched the site, but I can't find the BMC firmware files. Do I need to go get them from the supermicro site (not fond if doing things that way), or is there a nutanix link to the most recent BMC firmware? Some pointers in the right direction would be appreciated Thank you very much kind regards Marino

Hi, We have recently upgraded our Nutanix cluster from 4.0.3 to 4.5.0.2 and are noticing slower logons to the Prism interface. Before the upgrade this was almost instant while now it might take up to 10 seconds. Has anyone had the same experience?

Hi I am using foundation 3.0.1 to image a 3 node cluster of Dell R730's however it fails at 2% progress for StandardError: Mount failed: NFS path not in 'remoteimage -s' The system can access and configure the Dell iDRAC IPMI interface no problem and the virtual cd is enabled on each server. It appears to not be able to mount the required ISO according to the logs. There is no ISO file in the path mentioned. Below is the relevant section of the log. Using nutanix_installer_package-danube-4.1.5.1-0771.tar and ESXi 6.0.0 iso image. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi, Can anyone help me find a way to stop the creation of a remote site. I was told it would take around 10-15 minutes, but so far after 3 hours it is still running at 0%! There is probably some configuration issues on the network, so I would like to fix that up first and try again. For the life of me, however, I cannot find how to stop the task. Regards, Nick

Hi, We have a cluster of Dell XC730xd-12 and would like to update them to ESXi U3a (to match the rest of our vSphere environment). I know Dell don't have a customised ESXi U3a iso yet, so is there any advice on how to do the upgrade such as any specific extra drivers required in the Update Manager baseline or will I be able to use the json and the vanilla VMware zip and use one-click cluster upgrade? I am brand new to the Nutanix platform and have completed my basic initial configuration of my nodes on ESXi 5.5U2, however I am having trouble finding (not through lack of Google-fu) a complete guide on what Nutanix recommends as BPs for configuring hosts for ESXi. This raises some questions... e.g: Should I add anything to my node's Advanced Settings? Should I chanage the power settings Active Policy to High Performance? What is the definitive guide to HA settings with respect to the nodes, VM monitoring, policies therein, etcetera ? Not that this is an exhaustive list of questions, but I forgot to ask our Nutanix Pro Services rep before he left...and I could not immediately find what I need unless I am looking in the wrong place! :$ Edit: Some of what I asked is in the vSphere Administration Guide for Acropolis which is very helpful, but was curious if there is any additional documentation for Best Practices with Nutanix in vSphere. Just had the cluster installed. I'm going to patch my 5.5 installs, I put the first node into maintance mode and its just waiting for the CVM to power off or move. Should the CVM shutdown on its own or do I need to power it off before I patch and reboot? thanks,jb

Hi all, My present client is making me working on a design implying to deploy a XAAS plateform with a lot of security inside (NSX is on the cook list). In our team, i was declared as the nutanix man. My mission is to determine the best way to isolate storage from diffrent workload : we'll have an integration zone, a developpement and a production zone as PAAS. Some node will executed heavy VDI (K2 graphic cards will achieve this), Then we'll have a IAAS with vcloud SP for the sandbox zone).So we can imagine some sort of multicluster with 3 cluster dedicated to 3 zones : 3D VDI zone / SANDBOX IAAS zone / and PAAS zone. It implies at least 9 nodes which is a bit too much for starting plateform. My question is, can I make a 6 node cluster for nutanix / storage point, with 3 volumes pools on all 6 node ? and more than that what will it implies in terms of storage performance, data protection, data seggregation (security team will challenge me heavily on this part) ? It's explain how to create bridge, bond, separe 10Gb interface and 1G interface. But nothing for create a network vlan (tagin or native) on the NEW bridge. Hi all, Does anyone tell me the number of hosts you can add to a cluster when you are using acropolis hypervisor. I understand that the number of hosts you can add to a cluster depends on the hypervisor you use. For example, if it were configured with ESXi 6.0, the number of hosts you can add would be 64 hosts. I appreciate if anyone tell me the limitations for acropolis hypervisor if there is any. Thank you

I have created a new VM from acli with IDE disk:acli vm.disk_create TEST_RH44create_size=80G container=cnt1 bus=ideacli vm.nic_create TEST_RH44 network=vlan.0. Now I have to import the source VM disk image (ASdisk01.img), How to import it as ide on the new VM on Nutanix?
