I need to define a NIC for my windows substrate as a variable.current workflow:User selects subnet string from predefined variable >Pre-Create Parses and sets the subnet variable to the json from previous step. The NIC can be connected toone of n(x) subnets that are defined in the following escript:subnet1 = { "name": "name", "uuid": "redacted_uuid" }subnet2 = { "name": "name", "uuid": "redacted_uuid" }subnet3 = { "name": "name", "uuid": "redacted_uuid" }subnets = { "Preprod": subnet1, "Preprod": subnet2, "Prod-IaaS": subnet3 }print("{}".format(json.dumps(subnets.get("@@{appSubnet}@@"))))Output: @@{setSubnet}@@Profile Configuration:  This is where it breaks:

I wonder if there is any limit on the number of NICs (VLANs) in a guest VM using AHV \ AOS?As well as, what would be the implications of a VM with multiple NICs, for example, over 20 NICs.

I'm trying to move our vms from one cluster to another but the built in remote site don't work so now I'm trying to manually move the vmdisk files to the other cluster but the NFS connection stops working after a while. I have tried to mount the NFS share in a ESXi server but the transfer errors out after a while. Now I'm trying to use qemu-img to convert the vmdisk and move it, but it fails with : qemu-img convert nfs://127.0.0.1/default-container-49239103706845/.acropolis/vmdisk/81cd6231-e421-441c-850c-9124adf565d0 -O qcow2 ./dns-export.qcow2 & NFS Error: NFS: Read failed with NFS3ERR_JUKEBOX(-11) qemu-img: error while reading sector 4202495: Resource temporarily unavailable Is there any logs that will tell me what is happening with the NFS connection?

Hello - We created a custom DISK Image and need to automate the upload to Nutanix. Is there a way for us to programatically upload an image using powershell?

I’m unable to find the NCP exam or any mention of Nutanix on the PSI site to schedule for the exam. I went through the directed instructions of going to Nutanix University and then selecting “Take An Exam” on the menu. Not sure if i’m missing something or not.

Hello guy , hope you are all safe around the world !I want to know what is the difference between xi leap and cloud connect ?Thank you

Hi ,Recently i have completed NCP MCI technical certification, but still my digital certification not yet received my mail ID. I’ve sent mail to certification@nutanix.com no response from team. Please share the procedure to get the Same.

I need to upgrade vcenter to 7.0 in my lab, but I can find confirmation that will work with AOS, version 5.15.1.1 LTS.Actual 6.7U3 is installed, and AOS is on ESXI 6.7U3, i can move the hosts later, when will published in the compatibility matrix (dell R640), but I have to upgrade ASAP the vcenter, thanks for the support!

Hi,I am trying to monitor the CPU ready time (hypervisor.cpu_ready_time_ppm) for the VMs on AHV but the metrics available via the API does not provide this particular metric. The host metrics available via the API areHost_hypervisor_avg_io_latency_usecsHost_hypervisor_avg_read_io_latency_usecsHost_hypervisor_avg_write_io_latency_usecsHost_hypervisor_cpu_usage_ppmHost_hypervisor_io_bandwidth_kbpsHost_hypervisor_memory_usage_ppmHost_hypervisor_num_ioHost_hypervisor_num_iopsHost_hypervisor_num_read_ioHost_hypervisor_num_read_iopsHost_hypervisor_num_received_bytesHost_hypervisor_num_transmitted_bytesHost_hypervisor_num_write_ioHost_hypervisor_num_write_iopsHost_hypervisor_read_io_bandwidth_kbpsHost_hypervisor_timespan_usecsHost_hypervisor_total_io_size_kbytesHost_hypervisor_total_io_time_usecsHost_hypervisor_total_read_io_size_kbytesHost_hypervisor_total_read_io_time_usecsHost_hypervisor_write_io_bandwidth_kbpsHow can I report on this metric? Thanks.

I’m working on building a SQL Cluster on Nutanix using shared storage. Having issues on some of the steps in the ‘Creating a Windows Guest VM Failover Cluster’ walkthrough. (https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details/?targetId=Advanced-Admin-AOS-v510:vmm-failover-cluster-create-t.html)   Have (not real values, used for example): SQL01A - 10.100.1.20 SQL01B - 10.100.1.21 Cluster Virtual IP - 10.100.1.10 iSCSI Data Services IP - Not set (blank) SQL01VGroup - Target IQN Prefix here   Status/Completed: I’ve already created a volume group with a few disks for testing. I have NOT attached it to the VMs yet. I’ve enabled MPIO on each of the 2 servers I’ve enabled iSCSI Devices in the Multipaths tab   Where I’m stuck is the next portion on the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator/Target Portal IP portion. The guide is not very clear on what I should be doing.    From the Guide: From the Server Manager, add and enable the Multipath I/O feature in Tools > MPIO. Add support for iSCSI devices by ch

We are looking to combine our two nutanix blocks together.we currently have the NX-3360-G6 and the NX-1365-G6. if this possible to achieve, do we have have to double up on the redundant connections per node? this would mean it would be occupying 12 sfp+ connections all together. can anybody shed some light or experience on this?

Dear Team, I purchased 3 node IBM Power node running with AOS.Once i am trying to create ticket with Nutanix they said raise ticket with IBM vendor but i couldn’t understand if the Issue with AHV then why i should log ticket with IBM?IBM vendor Only responsible for hardware issue. Please suggest anyone how to register the ticket IN kuwait region if customer having IBM power Node with nutanix native AHV.

Hi team,We have a 5 node SSD+NVMe cluster with RF3 and are considering adding 2 all-SSD nodes to that cluster.Are there any drawbacks/risks/restrictions to having only 2 nodes of all-SSD type in this RF3 cluster?SSD+NVMe nodes:  G7, 6256 CPU, 1TB RAM, 4x1,92TB SSD, 4x3,84TB NVMeAll-SSD nodes: G6, 6128 CPU, 768GB RAM, , 6x3,84TB SSD

Hi,Ｉ plan expanding cluster to add 3 nodes that model are XC640 and hypervisor is ESXi 6.7 U2.Cluster’s AOS versio is 5.10.6 LTS but additional node’s 5.16STS.I cannot add nodes...Can I anything to do additional nodes? And Do you know how to recreate CVM on new nodes?

Hello Community,Just, I want to know how can I setup a Solaris 11.4 or Solaris 11.3 VM on Nutanix, any guide or walkthrough?. Please, let us know how can we have this OS running on AHV. We have AOS 5.15 LTS.

Hello All,I am new to Nutanix and AHV; however, I have a large amount of experience with Hyper-v and SCVMM. One of the things I am trying to do is automate the creation of a vm’s. My end goal is to take an “image” base drive I have uploaded to images containing an install of my windows OS.Deploy a new vm with that image, have a static IP assigned to the new vm automatically from a pool of IP’s, join my domain, and run a few powershell scripts in the VM. I would have done this all with an IP pool and a template in SCVMM and as much as I have read about templates in AHV I am not seeing anything like it. Am I missing something here?Do we have a resource on how to configure something like this?

Does AHV supports MSCS ? I am aware about two node windows cluster with witness VM mentioned in below : https://portal.nutanix.com/#/page/docs/details?targetId=Web-Console-Guide-Prism-v58:wc-cluster-two-node-c.html But just want to confirm if it supports MSCS with shared storage including quorum?

Dear TeamI am trying to register NCP exam . But I got following error. I send multiple email to university@nutanix.com. But no response  form tech team. Any one guide me.

Hi,I am exploring is there any Nutanix solution can like-for-like replace Riverbed Steelfusion solution?

We have multiple clusters in our nutanix environment and where is NCC upgrade is required. Is there a way to automate this or use API to update NCC? We are on version 3.9.5 and want to upgrade it to 3.10.0.1

Hi Team, I utilized the free vouchers for NCSE and completed exam. Now i missed to use the voucher for NCP and now i see the vouchers are not available. Can any one tell me , whet is the Procedure to get the Free vouchers . Thanks - Sudhir

So, on a dev cluster with Prism Central I created a Proof-of-Concept Nutanix Objects "Store". I did some experimentation (spotted a few problems with the deployment) and then decided I wanted to remove the store. First off I tried to delete the bucket, and was told "You need to delete all versions first": grr! Went and deleted all objects, but this wasn't enough, as versioning was enabled. So, turned version lifespan down to 1 day, and waited 24 hours. Great, now I could delete the bucket - however, I can't find any option to delete the store. So, I'm stuck with the (in my mind, greedy) VMs the deployment created, as I can't even go behind it's back and do anything with the VMs, as they're "special", just like the hidden Calm project which is used to deploy the store. All in all, not very impressed on first experiences...

Hello Everybody,Hope you’re all doing well !I want to install Nutanix using Foundation.I have 3 Lenovo nodes and one Cisco 2960X switch that consists of 24 x 1 Gig RJ45 ports and 04 x 1 Gig SFP ports.Unlike Supermicro nodes, Lenovo nodes do not have Shared IPMI ports. So, for each Lenovo node, I have to connect 01 x 10 Gig port and 01 GbE IPMI Port to the same CISCO 2960X switch (10 Gig ports of the nodes connected to 1 Gig SFP ports of the switch and 1Gig IPMI ports to the 1 Gig RJ45 ports ).Please take a look of the picture below…Since 10 Gig ports of the nodes are connected to 1Gig ports of the switch, I wonder if this architecture can allow me to install nutanix and create the cluster without any issues ? Thanks in advance.

HI We use an AWS cloud instance as a remote data protection ‘site’. The production cluster has been successfully updated to  AOS 5.15.1.1 (LTS) but this needed an AHV update to keep everything compatible.. Is is possible / desirable to upgrade the AWS cloud instance AHV ? IIRC it’s not supported to do OS upgrades (MIcrosoft OS anyway) on cloud infrastructure, it’s generally a migration to a new server. Is it possible to put a new AWS remote Nutanix instance in place and connect the backup data ??? Any advice on how to keep the whole Nutanix environment up to date is appreciated.
