Hi!I am wondering, if there is a quick way to restore from a failed ESXi upgrade.Imaging you have fired up a ONE-Klick-Upgrade of the ESXi image, and (as see with ESXi7.0U1GA) the hypervisor is not boot up again.At ESXi level i can backup config and restore config after a plane install. But what about CVM?Setting up the whole node with foundation is a nightmare, if the node is already installed in an customer environment, and can’t be discovered.The best way would be, that the foundation within a cluster could deploy a CVM to a plain ESXi and rebuild the cluster-node from the information stored in the cluster...

HI Team under Prism we’ve created a few VM’s (windows), one of VM is our File Server, current configuration is IDE disk 1TB, (60GB OS, 900GB shared folders). probably is better to create one virtual disk 60GB on OS and the second virtual disk as storage (1TB) or more.question is how to shrink current IDE disk from 1TB → 60GB, and if IDE should be change on SCSI disk, what Nutanix recommended?instruction to shrink disk IDE->SCSIthanks Dariusz

Using the Nutanix CMDlets it turns out that out of the 7 protection domains in my cluster, one has only 1 Consistency Group assigned to it, which protects over 1200 files. (Almost 4000). How can I create a few CGs within a given PD so I don’t get the threshold alert in the future?

Hello all,I am trying to do some updates in a dark site. I have configured the webserver and downloaded all the updates on the local server(like in the documentation). But from my understanding of the documentation, you need to do the following steps:Put the necessary files in the web server Replace the compatibility checks for the specific upgrade module Run inventory checks. Upgrade moduleI find it quite hard and time-consuming to do this for each component. Are there any better/faster ways to upgrade a dark site?For example, download all the upgrades and perform only one inventory check?

I want to configure a new AHV cluster with 10 Nodes, this would be the first time for me. I have little experience to install AHV on Bare metal, AOS, AHV installation, Network configuration etc. etc.Please share me some document so that i can able to install this. Right now i have only Nutanix Field Installation Guide.

Hi All,I have a HP GL380p G8 and I have 1x30GB SSD 1 x 400GB SSD 2 x 600 SASWhen i start the install it asks for the location to install the hypervisor, CVM and what are data disks.  Can I use the 30GB SSD for the hypervisor and the CVM. This will leave the 400GB SSD for performance tier and the 2 x 600GB for normal tier.

I recently used LCM to update the firmware on my 9 node cluster. One of the hosts did not come back up. I was able to get it to reboot back into the host OS, but it had no network connectivity. The interfaces were up, IP address assigned, just no traffic passing through the bridge. After fighting with it for some time, I decided to eject the node from the cluster and just re-foundation a new one. We have created a new vlan for windows 10 VM and I wanted to update existing network to new network. I was not able edit the existing network and choose the new one, it is grayed out. Do I need to delete and re-add new nic and choose the new network? For ESXi, you simply browse the network and select the one you want and save it.

As the Nutanix Life Cycle Management (LCM) platform evolves, more firmware entities are added to the module. The latest addition are the NICs associated with Nutanix hardware.Starting in LCM 2.3.4, firmware updates for Mellanox and SuperMicro NICs on AHV and ESXi are supported. I know that this question has been asked in this forum a few years back but I wanted to see if the answer changed since the newer releases of AOS.  In my case, I’m running AOS version 5.15.4 LTS and found that our 7-node cluster was configured for RF3 - although most of our containers are RF2 (the exceptions being the “NutanixManagementShare: and “SelfServiceContainer” containers).Since most of our containers are only RF2 I’m not too concerned about extra overhead but was curious if AOS now supports the switchback from RF3 on the cluster. 

From the AHV Best Practices document,  live migration network is in host management network(br0).In the network segment enviroment, backplane is isolated in another network which maybe has high bandwidth, does the live migration has any change under this condition? or Live Migration network can do some setting like ESXi vmotion network?

I have a cluster of 6 nodes including 3 nodes 1065-G5 and 3 other nodes 1065-G6 which run a hyper-v.I wanted to update from Aos 5.10.5 to 5.17.1 through LCM but I am having issues with the processors.I therefore want to proceed node by node in maintenace mode.Can you give me the procedure for updating the aos by proceeding by this method?

Please advise me is it support Server 2019 Hyper V on Nutanix? I unable to Find the article on Nutanix Portal with server 2019? I am planing to migrate from Server 2012 hyper v failover cluster to 2019 Server Hyper V failover Cluster? Which AOS Version is support Server 2019?

I have a couple of oddities going on, one is an ongoing and one was post latest PC2021. update.I was getting warnings that I was using the CVM default password so I chnaged it, it is supposed to replicate to the other CVMs but i get a health alert saying the remaining CVMs are still using the default password - any ideas why?And post PC update, i can log in using ssh but I can’t login to the web UI - I get the login screen , but after I enter username and password (not default) I get “server not available”  I have run health checks and idf checks and all seem to PASS - is there a bug in the latest PC Patch?  Just to note I can log into Prism Element with my name and password ok.Thanks in advance.
