I have customer having 2*NX3235-G9 nodes and want to have separate cluster. customer have existing Nutanix cluster where witness VM will be installed.I’m using windows portable foundation.1st- Can someone guide me complete steps to create a cluster including IP subnets for host, CVM, IPMI and cluster.2nd- Witness VM will be installed first then create cluster?3rd- In Nutanix download, there’re 3 files that are Boot image, data image and home image. so which file have to be downloaded and used?4- Witness VM IP address should be in the same subnet of CVM and cluster? 

I have several Citrix clusters with NX-8170-G8 and NX-8170-G9 nodes.  I want to perform updates but the VMs will not migrate. VMs need to be power cycled in order to get the VMs revert to the lower CPU in the cluster.I was looking for script that i can run in the intelligent ops playbook that will Identify the VMs that needs to be power cycled, and power cycle them.  Can assist with script to get the state of the VMs that needs to be power cycled?  Power cycle the VMs which don't have APC configured.  Power cycle the VMS which don't have APC configured to ensure CPU compatibility. Power cycle all the VMS in the cluster to ensure CPU compatibility. How do I find VMs that do not have APC configured? hmmmmm so templates are nowhere near as good as Vmware customizations!  Not used to have to be messing with sysprep and I’m already having issues 😥!  Our customisations for windows servers in VMWare just worked.  Once the template was built we just deployed from template and filled in name and IP’s along with the usual hardware configs and the VMs deployed and joined our domain. 

We have just had a new cluster installed and its running AHV, I have used Nutanix for about 6 years but always with ESX so its all a bit new to me!I’m sure I’ll have a few questions but currnetly I have this annoying issue! I have uploaded a few images to PC, qcow2 files, but when I deploy a VM using the images it always creates the VMs in the selfservicecontainer storage container, which is a tad annoying as I then have to move it manually using  acli vm.update_container vm-name container=container name wait=false In PC the storage container drop down box for the VM is grayed out so I can’t change it in the PC web GUI.  the cli works but I would like to create the VM in what ever storage container I want without having to move it after the event!  Is this possible? 

Greetings everyone,I have been successful at creating a rest api call to ADD a category to the VM.  The issue is we only want 1 category per VM, so if the VM already has a category assigned we want it to REPLACE the value and not ADD it.  With my current code (ie: use GET command of VM, remove Status, replace categories and categories_mapping then use PUT command) the JSON object looks good before uploading but afterwards I see the new category and the old one.  I tried using a PATCH command but AHV doesn’t like that (and it isn’t in the documentation either).   New Category = NEW_CATVM Original State:    "categories": {      "OLD_CAT": "OLD_CAT",    } VM Post My Update State:    "categories": {      "OLD_CAT": "OLD_CAT",      "NEW_CAT": "NEW_CAT"    } VM Desired State:    "categories": {      "NEW_CAT": "NEW_CAT"    }Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just deploy new 3 Node Nutanix on DELL XC760 .I using Foundation version 5.7 to deploy and install Nutanix. When the first time 2 Node are succesfully installed, but i have problem at 1 Node other. Hi,I upgraded AOS 6.8.1 to 6.10 but now I have a version incompatible with AHV and it is impossible via LCM to upgrade AHV. In the related KB 15185 there is a workaround but it does not work in my nested environment. Does anyone have a suggestion?Thanks

Hello,I can’t get a Win11 ISO to boot on CE 2.1 using vTPM and Secure Boot.  It will boot without the secure boot enabled, but it won’t pass the checks the installer runs for compatibility.  I tried with and without the e1000 NIC workaround for UEFI.

iam facing an issue with prixm central 2024.2 , whenever i go to the login screen it shows “iam-proxy.ntnx-base” and i cant login . any ideas ?

Hi All,My customer has a scenario where they initially set up Nutanix in a hardware management lan, which is controlled by a firewall. Now they have a need to connect the backup server on the other end of the firewall, without opening the firewall, can we set the external IP to be bound to the network permitted by the firewall, so that the backup server can connect to the external IP? I don't know if there will be any problems.

Hi All,Our nutanix 1175S-G9 is a 4-port 10G BaseT, initially connected to the  two portseth0, eth2,  later, I change  to eth0 and eth1, and then NCC check will show the message eth2 down. Is there any solution ?

I was honored by my company, and recieve 1 block 4 nodes NX-3060-G5 for use on my own projects. It’s a old node without support and inside of EOL list. What happened is that, i don’t know how, received an alert saying that AHV had a crash on files. But 20 seconds after the host was okay, and the alert was solved itself. But, 3 machines which was working into this node crashed too, preventing access through console, migrate the VMs, power off, etc. I tried remove the host for reimage it, but is stuck: And when I ran the NCLI command to remove the host, trying get the status, shows the follow:  Anyone could help me for solve this issue? Any tips?

We’re migrating from Vmware to AHV in parts of our environment.  In Vmware, our helpdesk has permissions to reboot virtual desktops.  Our desktops are all in one folder and their rights are limited to “View”, “Console” and “Change power state”.  How can I do this in Nutanix Element?  It doesn’t look like I can create folders.  And it looks like my options are pretty much administrator or view only.  Am I missing something?

Hello.I detected a problem using the latest kernel 6.1.0.-25-amd64 with all my VMs under Nutanix. I recently upgraded all my Debian servers from version 12.6 to 12.7: in version 12.6 the linux kernel in use was 6.1.0-23-amd64 and in version 12.7 is 6.1.0-25-amd64. The issue is related with the download speed using this kernel in all my upgraded VM’s. It’s extremely slow. Hi, Sorry if my english is poor, i’m trying to describe my problem as short as i can.Recently, we’ve bought new G9 NX appliance, and migrate all our production on it, that great.So now, we got 18 G5 NX node.I made 2 clusters of 9 nodes, no problems.My problems starts here :- With one of my collegues we want to try to create a bridge but without plug the ethThe test we want to do was successfull, and we were making somes XRay bench by the same time.-Finally we want to suppress this bridge and it’s now possible, i got a message were “Curie Scenario failed to revoke token.I’ve tried to follow KB7071 but nothing is solve.There is some jpg of my AOS & CVM I’ve even check if i can kill a queued or running task with ergon, but not finding it.Its impossible to put host in maintenance mode or doing a LCM by now.Please help me :)   

Hi there We are running pc.2023.4.0.2 and because we would like to upgrade to AOS 6.8.1, we need to first upgrade the Prism Central to pc.2024.x. However, upgrading from pc.2023.4.0.2 to any pc.2024.x at the moment, it’s not supported. As of today, the latest PC Version is 2024.1.0.2. I do understand the upgrade N to N+2, but when it comes to PC, i don’t know what N+2 means relative to pc.2023.4.0.2.Considering that AOS 6.5 is going EOM in Oct 2024, we are a little afraid that we’ll not be able to upgrade our AOS’es 6.5.x to AOS 6.8 in time, because PC 2024.x is a prerequisite for AOS 6.8. What to expect here, and how to proceed? Best regards,Casian

But they should have some videos on this important topic.

From prism Central Element, I am trying to deploy Prism Central. When I go for create new Prism central through Prism Central Element GUI, it did not list out available versions. Instead, it just shows “No compactible versions for Deployment”. Following is what I have. I am using nutanix hardware.Version 6.8.1 - COMMUNITY LicenseNCC Version: 5.0.1LCM Version: 3.0.1.1 Not sure, how I can deploy prism central If I do not have binary. If I uncheck the option “Only show compatible versions”, it lists out following public version.pc.2023.4.0.2pc.2022.6.0.10pc.2022.6.0.11pc.2022.6.0.12 In that case, I had deployed pc.2023.4.0.2 but i never able to get GUI. I suspect the compatibility issue.Any help would be appreciated.
