Ever wondered how to setup a Nutanix cluster on OVHcloud? Here is a blogpost that would probably tick all boxes with questions: https://www.jeroentielen.nl/running-nutanix-on-ovhcloud/
There is a VG with 5 GB disk assigned for 2 Linux Machines by VM name, upon restart of VMs this disk gets disconnected, to reconnect the disk, I have tried removing the VMs from VG and added again, the disks started showing up fine.In the linux maching the NFS mounts are saved as persistant already. Please let me know if this is a known issues as all other VGs with same configurations are working perfectly fine.
can any body explain about Nutanix HCI Architecture and how does it work
can any body explain below quary..?Disaster Recovery DC to DR with Async replication for what is the prerequisites and please explain step by step how to configure it..?
Hello everyone,I am using the Robo cluster and seeing 7.68 TB space in recycle bin. But this space not reclaimed. How can i reclaim this space?
Hi,In the Prism Central v3 API, when making a POST request to the clusters/list endpoint and the hosts/list endpoint, the offset and length parameters are ignored. As a result, the response returns all the clusters/hosts irrespective of the parameters passed.Has this issue already been reported, and do you happen to know when we can expect it to be fixed? Thanks in advance.
Hi. So I have veeam backing up a set of servers around 1TB worth of data they are backed up locally to a Qnap. The servers are Windows 2012R2 on ESXi. The site I want to be able to restore them to has a lot of space on a Nutanix system running AHC (Acropolis) So can I just say shunt the Veeam Backups to the 2nd Site and configure Veeam to talk to the Nutanix system if so how do i get it to restore the VMWare backups so i get get them working on Nutanix. It’s a pure DR Test initially and then if it works I might use the same method to actually migrate the whole sytem from the older vmware harware to living permenantly at the different site on acropolis.
I’m looking for a starting guide to testing failover to our Xi cluster. I believe that it is all configured and ready to go, but I’ve been tasked to write a procedure guide for a planned failover test during an outage window. Our on-prem cluster: AOS 6.5.2, PC pc.2022.6.0.1,.Hypervisor 20220304 build-342 Our Xi / DRaaS cluster is located in XI-US-EAST-1C, and has a few always-on servers. We are replicating a number of on-prem servers to it, on a one-hour, 4-hour, 1-day, and 1 week RPO basis, depending on device criticality. Some are defined as application consistent, some are not.We have about 70 protected entities.I am able to log into my local Prism Central and Prism Element, and I can get to SSH sessions on the CVMs and PC if need be. I am able to log into my.nutanix.com and see the configuration there, the AZs, and etc. Please let me know if some additional information about my cluster would help. What I need is a guide to failing over for testing, and recovering to the on-prem
HiWe have a cluster running on AHV and have recently found that its not possible to host guest VMs running Hyper-V within them, as a layer 2 hypervisor. The scenario is we have a few Windows 2016 VMs running on ESXi at the moment and each VM has the Hyper-V role installed in Windows 2016, providing containers for Docker. We want to move the VMs to our Nutanix cluster but running Hyper-V within a VM is not a supported type of nested virtualisation.Support say there are only 2 types of nested virtualisation supported: Credential Guard and WSL2.Docker is able to use WSL2 for containers as an alternative to Hyper-V but our problem is we need to stick to Windows because our apps are coded for Windows and our Dev team are not keen on re-writing everything!I’m looking for an unofficial workaround, is there a way to force AHV to allow in-guest layer 2 hypervisors to run? Its possible on ESXi, it feels like there should be an option in the host’s BIOS to enable compatibility.Any ideas would be
Is it possible to install AVH on a non Nutanix machine? If so, where can I download it from? Tia - Phil
Hey Team,I need a little bit of assistance here. I am new to Nutanix and currently attempting to deploy the community edition for some testing. However, I’ve been following several different guides out there and not having much luck.Installing on VM using ESXi 7.0 (VM version 17). I created new VM w/ Centos 7 compatibility and loaded the ISO.ISO was downloaded from here:https://next.nutanix.com/discussion-forum-14/download-community-edition-38417And md5sum matches. The ISO loads and boots up. I then go through the CLI UI installation and get past to the last screen where it should start installing but then get an error that I need help troubleshooting:Last Screen:Then the Error right after the previous screenshot:Looking at the error, there is reference to minimum requirements but I’m pretty sure I meet them on this VM but if this is what it is, then I can look at a newer beefier server to test on:8CPUs24GB of MemorySata1 20GbsSata2 50GbsSate3 50GbsAnyone seen this error before? Hi,Is it possible to have a stretched cluster (Metro-Availability) of 3 nodes: 2 nodes in 1 room and 1 node in another room. If it is possible, is there any documentation describing that design as well as the limitations? Thanks in advance for your answers
Hi all, after migrating SQL Server(2K12) from ESXi to AHV, all schedule jobs whithin SQL server are taking much longer. any idea what could lead to this behavior?
Hi everyone, We’re using v3/vms/list endpoint to get the information for the VMs. We’re getting last_update_time in the response. Truncated response for a VM:"metadata": { "last_update_time": "2023-06-08T10:49:22Z", "kind": "vm", "uuid": "cff450d3-dd1f-4d7d-9651-9b38164cb7e5", "creation_time": "2023-06-08T10:49:01Z"}I was expecting that if we change any properties of the VM like RAM, Disk Space, etc then last_update_time should get updated. However, irrespective of the value that we change, the last_update_time doesn’t get updated. Additionally, there is no time field which we can use to track the VM updation. Is this an expected behavior? Please let me know if I am missing something.
Hi! I would like to find out whether there is any timeline to support vSphere 8.0 for NX G8 nodes?

I wanted to check in to see if anyone has done a Cisco WLC with AHV, we are migrating from VMWare and currently use VGT (VLAN 4095) but it doesn’t look like there is an equivalent. Has anyone been able to get this working?

There is a way to collect virtual machine performance from Prism Central using v3 RESTApi ?Or my only way is to using Prism Element via v1 RESTApi ?
For our development work, we are using /v3/hosts/list endpoint. As per the specs, we want to use length and offset for pagination to fetch large number of hosts. We tried using it as follows:curl --location --request POST 'https://<host>:9440/api/nutanix/v3/hosts/list' \--header 'accept: application/json' \--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \--header 'Authorization: Basic abc' \--data-raw '{ "kind": "host", "length": 1, "offset": 9}'However, length and offset params doesn’t seem to be working. It returns all the hosts (2 in our case) irrespective of the params passed. Also, we used the same params in /v3/vms/list and they are working as expected. So, wanted to know if this is expected or is this an open issue? Is there a way to get all the hosts through Prism Central (v3) APIs?
We are running asynchronous Protection Domains and also employee Veeam backups of VMs. If we failover to the secondary site and then failback to the primary site, Veeam no longer recognizes the VMs in previously created backup jobs. We have to delete all the old backup jobs and set them up again. This is with ESXi hosts. Is that normal?
Hi can someone know the script to change the computer name during recovery plan. This is our script, everything is working except the script to change computer name. In waiting for possibility to deploy VMs from templates with Ansible (see https://next.nutanix.com/ahv-virtualization-27/how-deploy-vm-from-prismcentral-template-with-ansible-nutanix-module-41800), i’tm trying to use cloning, see playbook below. The demo playbook with same parameters works fine to get cluster info for "{{ prism_cluster }}".The cloning fails with error :KeyError: 'cluster_reference'What is missing in playbook ?Thx
