Dears:

I checked the “Nutanix Disaster Recovery Guide” and found from AOS 6.6, CG replication was supported on async replication, but not on nearsync or sync replication.

Any ideas about CG when support near sync replication?

The reason why I will have this question is we want to use CG nearsync replication to protect SQL server cluster. (Our RPO is about 10-15 mins), so I am worried about during planned failover or unplanned failover, the SQL server cluster could not start normally.

Thank you very much!

Alright, so to answer to your original post, as nearsync is built on async mecanism, i’d say CG are fully supported. https://www.nutanix.com/blog/nutanix-dr-multi-site-recovery

About configuration of CG in a nearsync environment : https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details/?targetId=Prism-Element-Data-Protection-Guide-v5_16:wc-dr-near-sync-c.html

on step 3 within Configuring NearSync Disaster Recovery

I know PD with PE could support CG in a nearsync environment. But how about Leap with PC? I checked the guide, it only support Async replications for CG.

As I wrote, Async/NearSync works on the same mecanism (as you can simply change from one to another in your configuraiton) so i’d say yes.

Moreover, when I see tables like this I assume it’s ok

I’ll tell you to ask Nutanix support to be 100% sure

Let me clarify more clearly:

You can see below that CG in Nutanix Disaster Recovery supports only Async replication schedule. No Nearsync.
