We are trying out nutanix and in the installer, it asks me for CVM..When i chose the 7mm that clearly is SSD it says its HDD and will not install on it..Is there any workaround for installing cvm on this disk?/pålt7mm - Bay 0 LEN MTFDDAK240TDS-1AW1ZA  Normal 240 GB SATA SSD 2.5"”

In my lab cluster, I first activated Microservices. Then, I created a VPC followed by setting up an Overlay subnet. Finally, I attached my VMs for internal communication. However,: the VMs aren't acquiring IP addresses on the subnet configured within the Overlay subnet. Nice day nutanix community, A customer needs to upgrade his hypervisor but, for compliance reasons they cannot create a web server and request the internet access could take too much time. Coud it be possible upload a package directly to a cvm and then upgrade the cluster?

Hi Anyone help me on below quarry, I am little confession while deploying the File Server i have seen two options are one is client network and storage network.for client network we are taking  new three ips in the the client ip rangeand for storage network we are taking Four ips which are the new ip in the cvm rangehere …?which vlans should use for client network..?which vlans should use for storage network..? it would be appreciated if someone explain this as soon as possible. 

I have a VM which has been moved to AHV from Hyper-V. It’s Windows 2019 Standard  After a WSUS update and reboot it will - without fail - boot with the second drive disabled. When I right click and enable the drive everything is fine, I reboot again to get a proper startup of SQL because the SQL data and program files are on that volume.I have another server with two volumes that’s also a migrated Hyper-V VM, the only difference being the OS version. NGT is fine and the Nutanix drivers are hopefully up to date.At this point I am struggling to work out where to look for additional diagnostic information. I would like to know what the root cause for this Warning Alert. It occurs on the day i was patching the LCM to version 2.7.1 .  The Warning alert is Maximum supported HDD/Total capacity installed on hybrid nodes. Hello. I have questions about node failure in AHV. (I assumed that all resources for rebuilding are enough.)3 Node cluster with RF=2 1 node was failed. And after that rebuild task was finished. In this situation, Does cluster status or data consistency fine if 1 more node failed ? (It is mean that only 1 node is available)    9 Node cluster with RF=2 1 node was failed. If rebuilding task finished ever node failure, Does cluster status or data consistency fine if multiple node failed ? ( I mean that - Node01 was failed. Rebuilding finished. - Node02 was failed. Rebuilding finished. → cluster status or data consistency fine ? ( two node failed. 7 node available) - Node03 was failed. Rebuilding finished →  cluster status or data consistency fine ? After successful install, I try to create a single-node cluster using the ‘cluster -s cvm_ip --redundancy_factor=1 create’ from the guide here: Community Edition CE 2.0 - Creating a Cluster (nutanix.com) I have an ssh session on my CVM and I am met with ‘warning mainthread genesis_utils.py 1580 failed to reach a node where genesis is up ensure genesis is running on all cvms’ . I then try ‘cluster start’ but it says ‘Cluster is currently unconfigured. Please create the cluster’. This has happened for me on different hardware as well. Any thoughts on this issue?

Hi all,What’s the latest on vTPM backup?  We have Windows 10 development VMs hosted in Nutanix and backed up by HYCU.  However, Windows 10 support is ending and as I understand it, Windows 11 cannot be backed up from Nutanix due to the inability to backup a vTPM.Is there any way of hosting a vTPM-required OS on Nutanix and having a backup of it?  It doesn’t seem like an unreasonable requirement?Thanks,Ian.

Dears, we are planning to expand a cluster consists of 3 Nodes, the new node supposed to come with DiscoveryOS the Existing AHV and CVM are using tagged VLAN, could you please advice if using expand option from the prism element will be able to discover the new node and re-image it ? should any preparation be done on the node before the expanding  AOS version is 6.5.4, foundation is 5.4, IPV6 is enabled on the switch. from Prism webUI guide i can see “If the Controller VMs in the cluster reside in a VLAN configured network, the discovery process still finds any factory-prepared nodes regardless of their current VLAN status (configured or not configured).” → in our case it’s coming with DiscoveryOS. 

Trying to deploy a VM through ansible playbook.  Deployment work fine. But I would like to configure IP address, netmask and gateway. Also I would like to add code for joining the vm to AD domain. Looked into guest_customization. But I am not finding any documentation on how to use guest_customization. There is some, but it only for Linux systems. Any tips/references will be appreciated. Thanks Yezdi
