Cohesity Backup

Hello All,

We have a Nutanix POC and I am playing around with the permissions. I am trying to create a role/category for our Cohesity backup. What entities are needed for the role. I assume cluster and VMs, but I am getting “Requested entity doesn’t exist” when trying to add the Nutanix source to Cohesity. It works fine when I add the source with a Prism Admin account. Can anyone point me to the proper permissions needed. TIA

TJ

I registered my sources with an account with admin rights when I used both products so am unsure of the exact permissions, but admin may be required. It might be worth asking this question at my.cohesity.com too to see if they can assist with exact permissions required to successfully register the source within their product.

Yea, It may need full admin rights. Either way, I would like to give it the minimal right needed. Probably time to open a ticket.

Yea, I am able to add Prism Central as a source with a Prism Admin account. I’m looking to harden the service account and not give it full admin rights.

I think best is to contact your cohesity sales engineer and let them provide the minimum rights.

I don’t know if it will help, but think that the account need to at least have rights to create snapshots in case you connect prism element or recovery points in case you connect prism central.
