Hi All,

My customer has a scenario where they initially set up Nutanix in a hardware management lan, which is controlled by a firewall. Now they have a need to connect the backup server on the other end of the firewall, without opening the firewall, can we set the external IP to be bound to the network permitted by the firewall, so that the backup server can connect to the external IP? I don't know if there will be any problems.

Hello,

I think it’s possible. But you would have to “tinker” for it to work. Furthermore, this is not recommended by Nutanix at all.

And this could cause side effects. Maybe someone has already done it. I would be interested to know.

Normally Backup through the firewall always slow down the back through put, i option can be keeping 1 one of the ip of your backup system in range of Nutanix to avoid going though firewall.
