Nested Share

I’m attempting to create a nested share and I’m receiving the following error “Failed to 'create' mount target due to an internal error 'Share path is invalid'.” The fileshare share is already created. I have attached an image of the settings I am attempting to use. I created a “test” share just to recreate the error. Am I doing something wrong?

Alert A160143: Warning: File Server Replication Job is stuck/idle

I am getting Alert A160143: Warning: File Server Replication Job is stuck/idle, Warning: DR dataset replication job 8 has been idle for 2 hours. Out of the 20+ shares, four shares have replication jobs stuck, three at 0% and one at 90%. Any idea how to stop/restart a file server replication job? (Case# 01799860)

Migrate FSVM file server cluster from old Nutanix to new cluster

I need to migrate a FSVM file server cluster from my older Nutanix cluster to a new cluster. It sounds like there are several options for migrating my file shares that I have listed below. Have you done any of the options below and what would you recommend? 1) Protection domains (Entire FSVM cluster, moves IPs)2) Smart DR (Per Share, moves IPs and updates DNS)3) MOVE > (Per Share, new DNS, and manually update file share configs) 4) Something else? Any insights or experience would be appreciated. Thank you!

Why does the Files Console prompt for credentials in demo.nutanix.com?

Tried getting there from “Files” link in main demo.nutanix.com portal, or from the “Files Console” link underneath Files. This doesn’t affect Files Analytics or Data Lens, except any links that take you to the Files Console will prompt. The admin creds provided don't work.

Indexed search for SMB share?

Hi, I have seen a previous topic on this subject and noticed JeroenTielen said you need to add the share to the index of the windows machine to have it indexed on that specific machine. but how can you do such a thing when i see in Microsoft forum: Windows does not support indexing network shares. You may still search them, but this is done in real-time without indexing, so may be quite slow. what can i do to make searching in Nutanix shares faster?

Hi, Im trying to create multiple nested shares using the cli. Trying something like this as a test ncli fs add-share uuid=UUID name=PI -share-path=/PITEST/PI but I get this prompt.. Error: Please provide the password (Use -p option) What am I missing? Also is there an easier way to create multiple shares using something like an API? Thanks, Paul

Nutanix Files REST API to get a list of events

We need REST API to get a list of all deleted files events in the last day per example. We need like this information you can see in UI. What API is used for this? In doc i see something about pulling and events notification, but we just want to query an API from time to time to get the list of events like in the ui, not using push notifications of events.

LCM framework starting

I downloaded and installed Nutanix CE single-node in a VM and need to test Nutanix Files for that I downloaded File Server, but when I go create FS it tells me: File Server software downloaded Version 4.4.0.1 downloaded. To proceed with install, an update of File Server Manager(FSM) is required through LCM. Go to LCM If go LCM it get stuck on LCM framework starting… I need to setup this as soon as possible for a test integration. any help?

Our Nutanix Files HA state is currently False. The Nutanix Kbase states to restart Nutanix Files, but doesn’t state how to do it. Alert - A160167 - File Server HA state (nutanix.com) How do I restart Nutanix Files, and is it service affecting?

Migrate shares from on File to another File

Hi all, I have two Nutanix Files (FS1 & FS2) created in the same cluster, FS1 has replication protection and 3 shares created (e.g. share1, share2, share3), FS2 is local protection only with 2 shares (e.g. share4, share5) created. Due to business need, share4 would need replication protection. Is there any way to migrate share4 from FS2 to FS1 online?

Indexed search for SMB share?

Is there a way to turn on indexing or something equivalent so that searching a SMB file share with hundreds of thousands of files actually returns a result, rather than sitting and spinning forever? It used to work back before we migrated this share from Windows Server to Nutanix Files share, but I’m wondering if maybe Windows Server had the files/folders indexed.

we are unable to configure Nutanix file server backup from veeam, actually we are not able to ping FSVM IP from Veeam backup server and currently no block in ports/VLAN. we are able to ping Nutanix file storage IP but not FSVM IP. any advise or suggestion.

Is there a way to generate a report in File Analytics v3.2.0 based on a specific file name - for example ‘java.exe’? I’m only seeing the option to filter on ‘file extension’ and that would obviously generate more than I want.

Failure during Nutanix Files (FSVM) upgrade.

Hello.After upgrading AOS and AHV (upgraded from AOS 5.10.1 to 6.5.3.5), I attempted to upgrade from Files 3.20 to 4.2.1.1.The first attempt to upgrade the File Server out of a total of four File Servers failed.After the VM update and VM NIC update, the VM change power state experienced a long time of Hang, and after 30 minutes the "File server upgrade task Hung for too long" alert was generated.An hour later, the "File Server upgrade task stuck" alert was generated and the File Server task stopped at 44%.I tried to force restarting that server and restarting all file servers, but it was not resolved. After restarting all file servers, the afs command was also unavailable on the CVM. The cluster status of the file server that attempted the upgrade is currently in the DOWN state.The Minerva service does not start and does not start the cluster.The shares of the files are serviced by NFS, the connection is normal, and the data can be read/write normally. However, Data Protection (DP) has
