I downloaded and installed Nutanix CE single-node in a VM and need to test Nutanix Files for that I downloaded File Server, but when I go create FS it tells me:File Server software downloadedVersion 4.4.0.1 downloaded. To proceed with install, an update of File Server Manager(FSM) is required through LCM. Go to LCM If go LCM it get stuck on LCM framework starting… I need to setup this as soon as possible for a test integration. any help?  

Our Nutanix Files HA state is currently False.  The Nutanix Kbase states to restart Nutanix Files, but doesn’t state how to do it. Alert - A160167 - File Server HA state (nutanix.com)How do I restart Nutanix Files, and is it service affecting?

Hi all, I have two Nutanix Files (FS1 & FS2) created in the same cluster, FS1 has replication protection and 3 shares created (e.g. share1, share2, share3), FS2 is local protection only with 2 shares (e.g. share4, share5) created. Due to business need, share4 would need replication protection. Is there any way to migrate share4 from FS2 to FS1 online? 

Is there a way to turn on indexing or something equivalent so that searching a SMB file share with hundreds of thousands of files actually returns a result, rather than sitting and spinning forever?  It used to work back before we migrated this share from Windows Server to Nutanix Files share, but I’m wondering if maybe Windows Server had the files/folders indexed.

we are unable to configure Nutanix file server backup from veeam, actually we are not able to ping FSVM IP from Veeam backup server and currently no block in ports/VLAN.we are able to ping Nutanix file storage IP but not FSVM IP.any advise or suggestion.

Is there a way to generate a report in File Analytics v3.2.0 based on a specific file name - for example ‘java.exe’?I’m only seeing the option to filter on ‘file extension’ and that would obviously generate more than I want. 

I’m looking for a way to a report on all of our file shares in Nutanix Files that shows spaced used.Similarly, it would be nice to see a report on users home drives (one level below the file share directory) based on space consumed. 

Please help me to find the best solution for syncing files from one NFS server in Nutanix files to another one in different location.The speed between them is 1 gbps.Which Nutanix native tool is possible to help me with this task?

Im trying to find the IP address of a Share in nutanix files ( i know i would be one of our 3 nodes) im having issues with some copiers and scanners scanning to SMB with the host name of the file server so ill be mapping them by IP on the copiers 

Is Nutanix file analytics exclusively for Nutanix files on Nutanix storage (or) it can provide insight into any file server such SMB or NFS shares from storage like Netapp?

Hello.After upgrading AOS and AHV (upgraded from AOS 5.10.1 to 6.5.3.5), I attempted to upgrade from Files 3.20 to 4.2.1.1.The first attempt to upgrade the File Server out of a total of four File Servers failed.After the VM update and VM NIC update, the VM change power state experienced a long time of Hang, and after 30 minutes the "File server upgrade task Hung for too long" alert was generated.An hour later, the "File Server upgrade task stuck" alert was generated and the File Server task stopped at 44%.I tried to force restarting that server and restarting all file servers, but it was not resolved.After restarting all file servers, the afs command was also unavailable on the CVM.The cluster status of the file server that attempted the upgrade is currently in the DOWN state.The Minerva service does not start and does not start the cluster.The shares of the files are serviced by NFS, the connection is normal, and the data can be read/write normally.However, Data Protection (DP) has st

from cli whats the command to see which Nutatnix files VM owns a share? i’ve done this before and i cant remember what the command was we’ve had issues with copiers not being able to scan when we use the host name but it works fine with the IP 

I have encountered a peculiar situation here. I am synchronizing two file shares, and everything appears to have been copied successfully. However, there is one folder that doesn't show up in the target file explorer. I am certain it was copied because I can see it in the log. Additionally, if I attempt to create the same folder in the target location, I receive an error stating that the folder already exists, and it creates a new one with a '(1)' appended at the end. I have ensured that the hidden view is enabled in the file explorer. Any thoughts on what might be causing this issue?

I am a Linux Admin, trying to understand if nutanix smb share can be mounted from REDHAT Enterprise Linux 8 Client.Appreciate if someone can please advise.If Linux client can be used for Nutanix smb share, any steps will be really helpful.

I am trying to automate the process of Files failover/failback using REST API. I did test through Prism  Central GUI.  Looked into PC REST API explorer, but I am not finding a URL to make an API call. I am at file 4.2 version. Any ideas ?

I need assistance in resolving a problem with File Analytics, which indicates that my memory has exceeded 90%. I update the VM and add 8 GB after it displays the critical error "One or more File Analytics VM components have failed." I did a power reboot, but nothing changed. Please assist.

Good evening, Following problem:I do have a single folder sitting on one of my shares, and I tried literally everything to get it deleted.When trying to delete, or move to a different share, I only get the error “An unexpected network error occured”, so, not very helpful on that front.I was able to change said folders owner (logged into CVM via ssh → logged into FSVM) via afs share.get_authorization_info <share> <folder>However, this didn't help.To make a long story short: Is there a way to delete a folder within a share on a FSVM directly?Thanks in advance!

Veeam Backup for Nutanix File server SMB Share backup - From Snapshot path?  Currently we are backing up the Nutanix file share backups using Veeam backup (NAS SMB file share) Current settings:Backup Directly from FIle shareThis option is skipping some of the locked files whcih is expected…Would like to change it to Backup from storage snapshot at the following path:? I would like to know what would be the snapshot path for Nutanix file SMB shares? what I need to give here? Can someone suggest so that I can avoid skipped files issue on the backup jobs
