Hi !I want to make an image of a windows server on the ABS disk. How can I copy the file to images on CVM to start migrate the Fysical server to Virtual. WinSCP is so slow so it will take 6-7 hours. To write it to ABS iSCSI it is fast but only problem to copy it to AOS. File system is NTFS.thanks!-Kim W-
I am having an issue adding a share to a new AFS instance where it reports “iSCSI discovery of targets failed to iSCSI portal xxx.xxx.10.5. Ensure that the stargate external data services IP and the CVM IPs are reachable from FSVM.” I have confirmed the CVM IP’s and FSVM IP’s are all bound to the eth0 interface of there respective devices and are all in the same xxx.xxx.10.xxx network segment. All devices can ping all IP’s in the range so at least basic comms are working. I am sure I am missing something obvious but not sure where to go from here. Suggestions please!
I just deployed a Witness VM (ESXi) for our first 2 node cluster and after setting the IP and reboot it gets the host name NTNX-<IP NUMBER>-A-CVM.Since it seems the witness VM is a kind of CVM I assume it wants to use the NTNX-<NAME>-CVM naming convention or it is OK to set the host name to whatever?Worked fine using “sudo /usr/local/nutanix/cluster/bin/change_cvm_hostname <hostname>” to set the host name.
For Files Analytics, are the ports required TCP or UDP? I know that the ports to open are 7, 3000, 29092 but just wanted to be clear on tcp or udp. Thanks

Hello,My client has this alert "Active Directory Domain Contoller(s) or DNS servers configured on the UVMs in the cluster" due the fact that he moved his domain controller on the nutanix cluster. His environment is 100% Hyper-V, and he is totally aware that SMB3 share of the nutanix cluster, requires authentication from the domain. In order to avoid that my client created ISCSI volumes and presented them to his Hyper-V environment, on which he moved his domain controller, trying to avoid that type of failure if everything goes down after a power failure and when everything comes up, the domain controller to be able to boot prior of the authentication.Please let us know what's the best approach for this matter and what's your recommendation for this kind of setup, especially when all the domain controllers are virtualized.Regards,Adrian

Hi community I am planning an upgrade of our Hypervisor of ESXi from VMware ESXi, 6.5.0, 8294253 to 6.5 U3 Latest build. Just wanted to get some feedback whether the process I have would be the correct one? first time we plan to use the one click upgrade process! We have 2 clusters, a production and DR cluster. We do use Data protection and Async DR and I believe that the target Async environment needs to be updated first which is the preferred option anyway. This is the approach I was going to take. Any feedback on this would be great. Hello, I'm trying to clone from a known UUID (our template) but I keep getting a 400 code for "Bad request" Ex : (Using Postman for this example, but have also tried with POSH and had the same result) POST https://1.1.1.1:9440/api/nutanix/v3/vms/{UUID}/clone Basic Auth - admin/pw Headers - Content-Type:application/json Once I send the API call, this returns : { "api_version": "3.1", "code": 400, "message_list": [ { "message": "Bad request.", "reason": "BAD_REQUEST" } ], "state": "ERROR" } Any advice / help would be appreciated. Hi everyone, I have an issue with a newly purchased NX-1175S-G6 that need to deploy at the EU environment.The system doesn’t allow to raise a case to the support portal.The installation just can’t seems to pass through the foundation stage.The latest place it stuck is at the screenshot. That is still just a small part. Before this when I try to put in VLAN to setup, it just can’t get through it. Anyone can guide me to a correct direction? Thanks

Hi, is there a way how to get VM/Host/Cluster/etc. statistics from API in bulk? We know about the /stats endpoints, but those only allow to get stats for single entity, so in case there are hundreds of VMs in cluster that would mean hundreds of separate requests to API. We don't really want to put lot of strain on the cluster just by polling stats. Our default polling interval is several minutes, so using projection=stats doesn't really work for us (as I believe it provides current value) and we'd need to know the stats for the time interval between our polls. HI Trying to get a definative answere to what I think should be a simple question. We are in the process of setting up a new fileserver using AHV and Windows 2019. Our current physical server has one larger 2TB drive letter for all file storage with 3-4 various shares. My question is would it make any difference to keep this same setup with AHV, 2TB drive attached to the VM for storage for files, or would it be better to have 2-3 smaller attached storage drives?

"cluster -f destroy" does not help. This is a new cluster, but during one click ESXi upgrade, tasks for stuck and now nothing can happen. I am fed up with tasks getting stuck and not completing, I would like to destroy the cluster and individually update ESXi on each node. We are runing XC740xd-12

I have installed Prism Cental 4.6.0.1 and Acropolis 4.6.0.1. Now I tried to register my Nutanix Cluster to Prism Central. I entered the admin credentials in the registration form. But I got an error "Failed to register to Prism Central: HTTP 403 forbidden". Any hints? best regards, arno

We have below script which is changing VM's project from default to some other project but after we execute invoke-webrequest, we notice that it will change Vm's "spec_version" to different number than it's in out $body variable. That's the reason why invoke-webrequest is given below error. Just before we run invoke-webrequest, we checked that vm's configuration metadata "spec_version" is same than in $body that we are trying invoke. So it seems that invoke-webrequest is somehow first changing the vm's spec_version in vm's configuration data (in our case to 18) and after that trying to invoke spec_version = 16 on top of that. But because the version should be same, it's failing. Same error occured when you are trying the same in REST Explorer - "vms".
