We are currently Migrating over our servers using move and now our patch management system is reporting issues with the current version of VirtIO I can see that move is still using 1.2.4.6 is there a way to update this.

Hey @Stuart Parrott

Give this a try in a dev or staging env before production - let the community know if this works for you.

Download the Latest VirtIO ISO

  • Go to the official https://fedorapeople.org/groups/virt/virtio-win/direct-downloads/latest-virtio/ and download the latest stable ISO (e.g., virtio-win.iso).

Mount the ISO on the Source VM

  • Attach the ISO to the source VM where the VirtIO drivers need updating.
  • You can do this through your hypervisor (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

Update the Driver

  • Inside the VM, open Device Manager.
  • Locate the VirtIO devices (e.g., network adapter, storage controller).
  • Right-click each device → Update Driver → Browse to the mounted ISO and select the appropriate driver folder.

Verify the Version

  • After installation, confirm the driver version matches 1.2.5.2 (or the latest available) in Device Manager.

Reboot the VM

  • Restart the VM to ensure the new drivers are active.
