Hi, i have been using Foundation 3.0 to reimage 6 new nodes, they are separate in 4 blocks. There are three 6035-G4 and three 6035-C. While using Foundation i have selected to install ESXi 6.0 and the NOS version is 4.5.2 For a weird reason (im new at nutanix) three of them (6035-C) where intalled with AHV and three of them with ESXi 6.0 (6035-G4). Is this an expected behaviour? Regards. Francisco.-

Hi all, finally, after a long POC i'm a new Nutanix customer :D I'm waiting N°2 NX-1365S with 6 nodes and the idea is to create a new vsphere cluster version 6 and migrate the existing VM's from the old vsphere 5.5u2. I've just check the Nutanix support page and i see the latest supported version is 6.0u1a build 3.073.146. This version seems to be affected to CBT issue, is it possible to install the correction patch (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2136854) after the the installation? Or install directly the 6.0u1b? Thanks in advance, and have a good w.end!

In my Hyper-v Nutanix cluster , i run the command hostips on cvm. But the hypervisor host ip it showing incorrectly. How do i sync the host ip with my cluster?

Imaging with foundation failed with error shown required NOS tarball. But all NOS phoenix downloaded from portal is on .ISO format. Kindly advice please.

Hi All We have a customer whose workload is currently fully virtualized on VMware integrated over a Legacy Three Tier Architecture. Most of their hardware devices is EoL, and after an audit of the infrastructure, we have recommended them to go in the direction of Hyper Converged Infrastructure, focussing on Nutanix They are potentially looking at a configuration of 1TB minimum per node of memory. Is there a work around to configure my SSD as an extended memory area to able to match their requirement? Kind Regards

HI Guyzz, recently i used foundation 3.0 to image nutanix nodes with hyperv.but imaging got stuck at 82%.then i imaged node using 2.version of foundation.Then i came to see the 3.0.1 release note in which it is mentioned the problem with hyperv imaging is removed in 3.0.1 version so if you have any base version upgrade to latest version and check the release note before using foundation hope this will help cheers

In regards to deploying ESXi 5.5 or 6.x hypervisor in the field. The most recent version of Phoenix available for ESXi appears to be 2.0.4. Does that mean I need to download Foundation components 2.0 and not 3.x? Also, the file name for Phoenix version 2.0.4 is "phoenix-2.0.4_ESX_NOS-4.1.1.4.iso". Does that mean it is for ESXi 4.1, and is not supported for ESXi 5.x or 6.x? Thank you.

Hello, Nutanix article 000001037 (Configuring VMware Distributed Switch (vDS) on Nutanix Platform) only has ESXi 5.1 and earlier as "versions affected", does anyone know if there is anything special / extra to configure on ESXi 5.5? Thank you.

When trying to upgrade NOS or NCC I'm getting this error: "Error while executing HTTP REST request: Could not connect to Genesis" The updates have already downloaded. This occurs even if I pick a lower version to upgrade to. I'm going from 4.1.4 to 4.5.1.2 (NOS) and 2.01 to 2.1.4. Any ideas? Is there a service I should restart or something? Thanks! Mike

Dears, i was trying to upgrade bios firmware from prism but upgrade hang at first process and when i tried to login on the remote console i saw that it's stucked at phoenix phoenix# termianl i tried to delete hanged process but system is still hang at this terminal and coudn't normal boot how can i solve this issue

HI, Actually i am able to create folder using nfs whitelist in the nutanix smb share but not able to see the option for that.Then i came to know that we cannot give permission like that for the folder in the nutanix share.is that true.currently we shared a volume from one vm as share. thanks ritchie

Hi all, This morning I tried to log in to Prism only to find it was unavailable. I tracked down which node had the IP of prism (logged into all nodes - there must be an easier way!) but I didn't know what to do to restart it. Anyway, I decided to go for breakfast and it was back up again when I returned, but was down for at least 10 minutes. Can I restart it, should it move to another node? Regards, Nick

Dears, i have below situation happened to my nutanix block my college changged hostname of all ESXi servers and then try to change CVM IPs without stopping cluster after that he rebooted CVM but cluster is not started with error message unable to reach node where genesis is started i have check genesis service in all node and it's running correclty and all nodes are reachable suing hosts in /etc/hosts file and all of them in same lan how can i get original hostname of esxi and does change of it's hostname cause this issue and also hos i resolve this issue thanks in advance

Hi all, Our nutanix has been running for a little bit more than 2 years now. Due to changes in our work environment (and the fact that our 3050 nodes started on NOS 3.5) we decided to use the opportunity to perform a field install, and do the upgrade to nos 4.5. We were getting the BMC error for a little while (since we were on nos 4.x). The reimage proces went perfectly but, and I was sure that during the reimage the BMC firmware should have been update, this was not the case. BMC firmware is still version 1.87. NCC is giving us warnings about that. I searched the site, but I can't find the BMC firmware files. Do I need to go get them from the supermicro site (not fond if doing things that way), or is there a nutanix link to the most recent BMC firmware? Some pointers in the right direction would be appreciated Thank you very much kind regards Marino

Hi All , I would like to know the way how can I move vm's from 1 nutanix block into other Nutanix block using vmotion . - Each Nutanix block configured as a stand alone Nutanix Cluster -2 Nutanix Block under same vmware DC and Cluster and managed by 1 vcenter. but when I run vmtion for one virtual machine from vsphere client I could not choose the target nutanix storage. Hi, We have recently upgraded our Nutanix cluster from 4.0.3 to 4.5.0.2 and are noticing slower logons to the Prism interface. Before the upgrade this was almost instant while now it might take up to 10 seconds. Has anyone had the same experience?

Hi I am using foundation 3.0.1 to image a 3 node cluster of Dell R730's however it fails at 2% progress for StandardError: Mount failed: NFS path not in 'remoteimage -s' The system can access and configure the Dell iDRAC IPMI interface no problem and the virtual cd is enabled on each server. It appears to not be able to mount the required ISO according to the logs. There is no ISO file in the path mentioned. Below is the relevant section of the log. Using nutanix_installer_package-danube-4.1.5.1-0771.tar and ESXi 6.0.0 iso image. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can remove the controller using 'virsh edit' or through virt-manager connected to the host, but those changes do not persist, and Acropolis adds the scsi controller back in when the VM is started.Is there any supported way to do edit VM properties beyond what is exposed in Prism and to have the changes persist?

Hi, The Web Console Guide gives directions for using OpenSSL for creating the private key/public certificate necessary to connect a remote Azure site for Data Protection, but has no instructions for using a Microsoft CA. Can anyone provide this information? Cheers, Nick
