Hi Guys,

Is there a difference between 512n or 512e with Nutanix? Vmware doesn't support 512e but vendors are quoting 512e with their config.

Any difference in performance? Is one better than the other?

The difference is around sector sizes on the drive. 512e has physical sector sizes of 4k, which helps out with larger capacity and so on.

yes, VMW doesn't support this for VSAN, etc; however, Nutanix passes the entire PCI-e SAS controller through to our controller VM, so VMW doesn't see the drives what so ever.

Since our code does support this, it is no worries from the VMW perspective at all.

What about Hyper-V or AHV?

the drives we will be using are 2TB ones. Is there any performance differ difference or benefits of using one or the other?
