HiI'm using 6.5.2 LTS.I have a cluster consisting of three machines. As you can see in the attached screenshot, on the Prism Element home screen, each resource in the cluster is displayed as "not available."The Storage Summary also shows values that differ from actual usage.I've configured SNMP in Prism Element, and when I use snmpwalk to retrieve values such as hypervisorRxBytes from the monitoring server, the values always show the same.If you know the cause, please let me know. Thank you in advance.
Hi there,Trying to deploy Prism Central on Nutanix Community Edition I’m seeing the same symptoms as this one Error during deploy Prism Central Encountered Exception in post_deployment step: Failed to enable micro services infrastructure on PC: deploy msp:Error deploying addons: failed to deploy monitoring addon: failed to deploy and verify kube-prometheus: failed to verify kube-prometheus: Operation timed out: failed to verify kube-prometheus: expecting 1 available replica of k8s prometheus in ntnx-system namespace. How many Ubuntu Pro licenses are required for a Nutanix cluster? Do we only need to license the Nutanix cluster nodes, or do we also need to purchase separate Ubuntu Pro licenses for each virtual machine running on the cluster?
Hello, first time poster. I’ve created a one-node cluster on an intel NUC 10 (NUC10FNH) using latest phoenix image. install went fine after a couple of hardware bumps but node is up, CVM is running etc. The issue I’m having is I can’t power on any VMs I create. It only gives a generic “InternalException” error. In the uhura.out log, there are these entries “Error: HypervisorError: internal error: QEMU unexpectedly closed the monitor” and “qemu-kvm: Address space limit 0x7fffffffff < 0x4bcbfffffff phys-bits too low (39): 61”. Having a hard time trying to make sense of this. I’ve read other people running on the same hardware with no issues, maybe it’s the specific version of the CPU (it’s an i7-10710U). one-node cluster, 64GB RAM, one 500GB m.2 SSD and one 500GB SATA SSD. booting off a 64GB usb drive. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi all,I deployed a Prism Central in small size, and now I need to enable Intelligent Operations and DR. Does anyone have the procedure to convert the size?ThanksRegardsGiuseppe
HI Team,Recently, I have brought Nutanix Community Edition in my lab for testing. The testing requires to configure a internal network to have a connectivity between 2 virtual machines. To do that, I have created a internal network and assigned it to 2 virtual machines. I do observe self ping failed in Linux though ifconfig shows IP address configured correctly. I need to reach from one VM to another using this custom subnet. Please let me know if I am missing anything here.
Creating a new topic to replace the prior one I started that was incorrectly categorized into the Self Service category. I am running the following PC version and AOS/AHV versions: I am trying to configure an IdP for PC auth and need to customize the redirect URL. This is supported according to the AOS 7.3 docs: However, the redirect URL field is not visible in the IdP config in my installation: Can anyone help me understand where the restriction lies and how to enable customization of the redirect URL?
Hey folks,We recently ran into an issue while upgrading VMware Tools to version 13.0.0 on Windows Server VMs.After the upgrade, we noticed:❌ Static IPs disappeared, and VMs defaulted to DHCP — resulting in network drops and service disruptions. If you're managing Windows servers with static addressing, planned properly. 🔍 Why Does This Happen? When VMware Tools updates, it often replaces the virtual NIC driver (like VMXNET3).Windows detects this as a new network adapter, and:The original NIC is hidden Static IP is no longer bound to the new NIC The VM falls back to DHCP or ends up with no IP✅ What You Can Do to Prevent ItHere’s the quick checklist we follow now: 🔹 1. Record Static IP DetailsBefore upgrading, export or note down:IP, Gateway, DNS NIC names 🔹 2. Avoid NIC Driver Upgrade (If Possible)Use custom install during VMware Tools upgrade.Uncheck NIC driver updates unless required. 🔹 3. Clean Up Old AdaptersAfter upgrade, go to Device Manager→ Enable View > Show Hidden Devices
We just got our first 3 node Nutanix cluster (using AHV) a couple months ago so we’re very new. I have been unable to use the Nutanix Portal setting within LCM to perform updates so I used the Dark Site option. Plus I have warnings about LDAPS but I am unable to use that setting. Both issue I think are cert related. I replaced the self signed certs in Prism Element & Prism Central following a couple Nutanix KB’s.Do I also need to replace certs on the individual CVM’s? The Nutanix documents & KB’s don’t explicitly mention anything about certs on the CVM’s but at the same time there have been a couple documents that say not to put certs on the CVM’s because future updates could remove them.
HI Team, Recently I have installed Nutanix CE on Dell Power Edge R430. I am facing issue while trying to create network configs for creation of VMs. My lab network is shown below,I have interfaces from eth0 - eth7. eth4 is connected to Network 10.146.20.0/24, I would like to configure the same in Nutanix, so that the VMs that I create fall under the same subnet. I tried creating subnet and booted an Linux instance to check the reachability. I am unable to reach GW from that linux. I reached out to my lab team, and they suggested to have eth4 alone in a bond. To do that, I tried to assign eth4 to vs0 alone but unable to do it. Could you please let me know what are the series of steps that need to be followed so that I could successfully create VMs. Thanks,
I want to reserver as mentioned below for a Linux VM running on AHV 10 and AOS 7.3. CPU: 4 vCPUs with a 10,000 MHz reservation Memory: 10 GB with a 10 GB reservation Disk: 1 x 110 GB with thick provisioning If these reservations exist, how can they be configured? I couldn’t find any information in PE/PC. It also seems that this feature was available up to AOS 6.8 but not in AOS 7.x versions.Let me know if there are any workarounds as well.
HI Team,I am considering Nutanix for my use-case. I have Dell PowerEdge R640 bare metal chassis with 2 NIC's BRCM 2P 1G BT + 2P 10G BT rNDC & Mellanox Network Adapter. I am trying to deploy Nutanix Community Edition but facing some issues. I do have 2 physical disks but looks like I need 3 physical disks to deploy Nutanix CE. (https://next.nutanix.com/installation-configuration-23/3-drives-needed-for-nutanix-installation-43436) 1) Does NIC mentioned above is good enough to proceed with CE deployment or does the chassis requires Intel NICs only? During bootup I am seeing below issue, Please let me know what is the root cause of this and how to resolve it? Though bootup process failed, I can still able to see Hypervisor selection along with Disks selection, Is that expected? I do have 2 HDDs attached to bare metal, But why do I see only 1 disk during Hypervisor selection? Do I really require 3 physical disks or does partition is allowed to achieve my agenda? What kinds of disks ar
HeyI have a 4 node lab with some version. I want to upgrade to the latest version (7.3 right now). my hardware support it. But, instead upgrading, I want clean install (for my reasons). When I using foundation, it won’t discovering my nodes (since they are used). What should I do to make them to be discovered? Thanks.
I have old hardware that is no longer used for production and the server can only be turned back on after we repair it. Currently, I will use this hardware as a development server or backup server, but when I check the compatibility for NX Gen 3, it is no longer there. How can I find a version that is suitable for my Gen 3 server?
I have to replace a 3 nodes G5 Nutanix cluster running with vSphere 7 Essentials Plus Edition (limited by design at 3 nodes only) by 3 new nodes. My first idea was to expand existing cluster with new nodes then removed old nodes one by one.But like the vSphere Essential Plus edition is limited to 3 ESXi hosts only i can not add prepared new nodes to my vCenter.🙄 What is the best method in my case to migrate to the new 3 nodes ? Thanks for your advises.Nicolas
Always failed when extracting home.qcow2 to img around 55 mins. This only happen on 3 nodes cluster. Anyone solved this problem?

We have 5 DX360 Gen11 nodes, one of which shows the following symptoms:It starts loading the Foundation image without any problems When the image loading process is complete, it does not restart and shuts down the server. The node is powered on, we repeat the image loading process, and the node shuts down again.
Hey.Looking at the new API v4, I want to get list of all VMs and take all of the exposed IP, but I notice there is no fields for IPv6. Is there some planning to support IPv6?
Hello, I Keep getting this error. I've tried downloading the ISO multiple times and used different USB sticks with various boot Tools like USB Key, Ventoy, and Rufus. Any tips?
We recently acquired four new Lenovo HX630 V3 CN servers to deploy the latest Nutanix AHV and AOS. Our plan is to set these up on four AHVs and the latest Prism Central. According to the compatibility matrix, this configuration should be supported.I downloaded the latest AHV (AHV-DVD-x86_64-10.0.1-219) from the Nutanix portal and created a bootable USB. However, I encountered an error when attempting to boot into the Nutanix installation process.I understand that I need to use Foundation, but my servers are new and don’t have DiscoveryOS or something similar that would allow me to discover them with Foundation tools. Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue?
Is there a way to receive a token that can the be sent to the launch console page. something like `https://{domain}/console/lib/noVNC-new/vnc.html?path=vnc/vm/{token}`That will let me bypass the login page of Prism console and allow me to open the console for a virtual machine directly ?
Currently I building the following versions: AHV ver,10.0.1 AOS ver,7.0.1DNS is configured on the CVM but it seems that the DNS settings are not synced on the AHV.I confirmed that the DNS settings were entered from Prism Element as well.Re-entering the DNS values did not fix the issue. If anyone knows the solution, please tell me
