Can a Nutanix Storage node contain more secondary VM copies than what would fit into the existing capacity on the cluster nodes disk? and if yes, how does one bring the storage node down for maintenance?  

The network panel in ESXTOP has a few metrics that will enable you to determine issues such as loss of network on a VM or high dropped packet on specific nics. Below is simple overview on how to use esxtop for networking: How to access:Log into your ESXi host and type esxtopPress ‘n’ to show only the networking view  Port ID - The port ID used on the virtual switch. This ID is used for example for network traces with pktcap-uw.Press 'N' to sort by PORT-ID column.USED-BY - Indicates what is connected to the virtual switch port. I am using the newest version of X-ray (3.10.0) to connect to a vCenter (6.5U1d) to have some performance tests for my cluster. At the step 4 (Validation) of creating the target cluster, it failed to validate the cluster.Error: Target cannot be verified.After looking into the log, in the HTTP Response body, it contains the 500 Internal Server Error. Still cannot get what it means as everything seems fine and the connection from X-ray VM to cluster still has no problem at all.

May I know is there any command to change the vlan of the virtual network resides on vswitch br1?

Is there support for Cloudstack and Nutanix or drives for it to run.

I’m relatively new to Powershell and have been looking for the cmdlet get the Role Mapping information from a cluster. I’ve no issues connecting using Powershell I just cant find the correct cmdlet which will allow me to get the Role Mappings. My apologies if I haven’t placed this is the correct group.

When migrating Windows VMs from AWS into a Nutanix cluster and while using automatic Windows VM preparation, it is important to verify permissions configurations in two places within AWS. Specifically, the permissions for the AWS account that is provided when adding an AWS source into Move and the permissions of the IAM profile associated with the VM instance to be migrated. AWS allows permissions configurations to be viewed/updated in a JSON format. Further, the Move User Guide also lists the necessary permissions for these entities in a JSON format. These JSON values can then be reviewed/compared and, if any of the permissions are missing or configured incorrectly from AWS, simply update the permissions according to the User Guide values. Also, it should be verified that the Windows VM instance is properly managed by the AWS SSM Manager prior to a migration attempt. There are times, when we need to move a vm disk to a different container on the same AHV Cluster.For e.g. : We may want to move this VM Disk on a container with De-Dupliction Disabled. To relocate a virtual machine’s disk to a different container on the same AHV cluster, following steps are required:Requirements for the Move:Source Container ID (where the vmdisk is located originally) Destination Container ID (our target container on the same cluster) VM Disk(s) UUID (UUID of each disk we need to move “acli vm.get <vm-name>”) Power-off the VMSummary of Steps:Determine the vmdisk_uuid of each virtual disk on the VM. Make sure the VM for which the VMdisk we are migrating is powered off. Use the Acropolis Image Service to clone the source Virtual Disk(s) into Image(s) on the target container. Attach the disk from the Acropolis Image(s) which created in Step 3 to the VM. Remove the VM disk that is hosted on the original container Optional: Remove the cloned VMdisk from image services

The storage usage reaches 95% and some windows VM (2016 2019)down.AHV hypervisor 20170830.395After release the disk space many VMs should be repaired.Questions:AHV will shut down VM when the capacity reaches 95% ?  If user reboot VM when it is 95% , will it make  the VM data disks crashed ?

Did you know that Nutanix now has a Smart Support diagnostics collection feature available in Nutanix Support Portal which can directly initiate log collection on Nutanix clusters thereby avoiding the need to manually collect and upload logs to the case?Customers can create a diagnostics collection for any of their clusters on demand. A diagnostics collection is a set of logs and health checks collected in a cluster for a specified interval. I have read the documents and manuals of APC PowerChute Network but it is a scenario that doesn’t apply to mean. Apparently, someone sold to the customer a Vertiv Liebert GXT4 UPS. Liebert’s engineers concluded that the product couldn’t provide a graceful shutdown of the Nutanix cluster, while it could shutdown the ESXi on top.Is there anyone out there who had succeeded in performing a graceful shutdown without APC?

We have Nutanix SX-1065-G5 with 3 nodes, every node have 4*16GB, and we need to add 64GB to every node. Is it possible to add 4*16GB for every node ?RAM : C-MEM-16GB-DDR4-2400

vCenter 7.0U1c and vSphere Clustering Service VMs on local or shared storage.After test upgrading vCenter from 6.5U3 to 7.0U1c (which worked just fine w 0 issues), every vmware cluster with DRS and/or HA enabled gets 3 new vCLS (very tiny VMs w 2GB storage/.13GB RAM).When NCC is ran it registers 3 WARNs that there are VMs running on the SATADOM’s. I would assume that, even what (little) they do (today), would this wear out Satadom’s or M.2’s?Would this be a concern for G4/G5’s (w Satadoms) and not G6/G7’s (M.2’s)?”While vCLS can be moved to shared storage, wouldn’t they be moved back to local storage during an NX cluster stop?(Like to point out this was done in a LAB environment, not in Production… no bits nor bytes were harmed during the upgrade progress.)

I’d like to rename the host name on a single-node cluster - assuming that I update the name in the /etc/sysconfig/network and /etc/hostname files, I guess I would also need to stop/start the acropolis service. I know this is safe to do on a 3-node cluster but is there are risk/impact with a 1-node cluster?
